Why does everyone pressure people to go to funerals? Like, seriously? If I don't want to go, I have my reasons. Maybe it would be worsening instead of helping in the grieve-period as is normal, maybe I had a strained relationship with the person, maybe (as in House's case) I was even abused, maybe the person told me when he/she/they was/were still living that they do not want a funeral and I try to honor that wish, or I'm not ready yet, or whatever else there is! If I ever start to feel the need to go and say my last goodbuy, there's still the grave. It should be my decision.
@SauDude There are bounderies to what you are supposed to go for others. You don't send an abused person towards the abusers funeral, no matter who will feel better over it. The trauma of that person outweights it a million times. And funerals are for you to feel better after a loss. It is for your own grieve-counseling.
