- Опубликовано: 19 июл 2024
- This videos is the second in the series and assumes you are a complete beginner to drawing. Using graphite and pencil we shall draw an onion. This is a simple sketch which demonstrates how to create different types of lines and marks to make the drawing of the onion look interesting. Emphasis will be put on how to hold the pencil and graphite and how to twist the fingers to create different effects such as shading and outlining.

Thanks! I have been on your channel for 2 years and I really love the way you put so much effort into your vids and drawings just to entertain us and make us better at art… Thank you so much for teaching me, I got sooo much better. Thank you Paul :)
Wow, thank you! It is my pleasure. Good luck with your drawing. Cheers
This channel, and you, give me such encouragement! Thank you! This series is helping me so very much!
You are so welcome!
This man doesn't make videos to grow some stupid number but to genuinely help people learn to draw, and for me this is a very practical skill too as in engineering communicating your ideas is areally big problem that only gets worse the more you innovate and if I knew how to draw I could've advanced my projects so much faster!
My extent of skill before watching this channel was my middleschool teacher yelling at me to do work but not doing hers, I was merely taught to draw X so it's like a basketball coach teaching basketball as "just get it in the hoop" to someone who never touched sport.
his videos are at the highest tier of narration, content and audio quality and I'm just waiting for him to change something in a way the YT algorithm blows the channel up as it is truly underrated and the videos are buried under objectively inferior content.
So thankyou very much for your work MR Priestley, you've helped me incomparably more over a few videos than my teachers did over 10 years of education.
Many thanks for your kind comment, much appreciated. Cheers
Thank you for your amazing videos! I would not have as much drawing confidence as I do now without you.
That's great good luck with your drawing.
Thank you for your patience to teach. I'm a detail person and I appreciate you taking time to explain how to use the hand, arm and whole body
When drawing. You make drawing interesting and fun. Love the way you teach.

Thank you for this! Btw I'm 25 years old and I still hold my pencil incorrectly XD
I don't think it's incorrect, but there are just better ways.
Looks so simple, get the basics before moving to complex. Great instruction on this channel.
Thanks for watching!
Wow!! you make drawing look so easy .

Thank you for this channel and for sharing your talents both in teaching and in art. I have always wanted to learn to draw and now I feel that I can after simply drawing a can and an onion! Just know also, that you have helped a grieving mother get through her mornings.
Really pleased you are enjoying my videos. Drawing aside, grieving is tough, I hope you find solace and peace soon.
@@PaulPriestleyart Thank you very much. I have now successfully drawn a simple pot, a book, and a pretty terrible landscape--and yes, finding solace in the process. I'm so happy I found you!

I love your tutorials, but I don't know anything about Patreon.
Are the tutorials/videos on Patreon longer, more in depth, than what is offered on the RUclips tutorials?
Thank you
Patreon is a monthly subscription that can be ended at anytime, it is there to help support me with the cost of producing the videos. In return, depending which subscription you choose, you could for example, get your name as a supporter in the description of any video I produce or higher subscription allows you to send one a drawing each month and I'll critique it. You can access my Patreon channel here - patreon.com/paulpriestleyart
I started drawing recently but I saw that you are no longer uploading. May I ask why?
Good luck with your drawing. I have been following other ideas and developing an art history school channel: ruclips.net/user/arthistoryschool. Why not take a look. Cheers

Why don't you upload videos😔😔
I needed a break
I hope everything is ok,I really enjoy it arching you videos but they seem to have become less frequent over the last year or so.
Everything is fine, I now spend a lot of time on my art history channel - ruclips.net/user/arthistoryschool and doing more of my own work. Cheers
@@PaulPriestleyart Thankyou for the reply, that’s good .I hope your art history channel goes well, hopefully you will do the occasional instructional video again at some point in the future too, and find them really informative and enjoy your enthusiasm.
