NO. Will they do better than the previous ownership by activision and Bobby? That's the real question you need to ask. And i think probably YES. But this does not make me "believe in Microsoft"; you should NEVER believe any company at all. Because in the end the company has an obligation to it's shareholders. And most of them have brains like Goldfishes, not understanding that releasing good games is important to please the neckbeard-faction to silence them while they create their next moneymilking mobile game or the next GAAS-Title with tons of buyable cosmetics. But not satisfying the gaming-ultras is an devastating mistake; and seemingly Microsoft probably understood it.
My reason for wanting WoW to be better is the sunk cost fallacy.

That's something a lot of us are betting on. If they removed all of the crap that was pushed from BFA onward, that would be considered an investment (to me).
Also put GMs answering tickets back in the game itself so you can interact with a person instead of having to go through hoops to get to a person to solve your problem that isn't in their pre-selected group of problems. And it was fun when the GMs would mess with you when you were doing a dungeon or raid too. I still remember when my guild went back and did Firelands for transmogs and achieves and we were so overgeared we one-shot the bosses until Ragnaros and he just insta-killed us. It was so funny.
I don’t blame people for being skeptical but man, I gotta have hope… WoW always had so much potential but as you say, it’s always been held back by having its story gutted.
How to make Azeroth great again: #1.) Write better, more adult characters. #2.) Stop catering to the minority (WoW forums censor, ban, and deleted hundreds of thousands of protest posts against all the woke changes they’ve made to the game… never forget Vanessa VanCleef’s thighs) #3.) Make the game rated M, the playerbase has aged significantly. #4.) Put the war back in Warcraft. #5.) This is not a priority, but we need sexier outfits for women, better female models, and a better aesthetic in general. As it stands ff14 mods offer far more immersion than WoW has offered since it’s inception, I think it’s absolutely absurd.
It's funny how this game needs an in game store, when you already pay for the game itself and then a monthly subscription.
Microsoft brought us Age of Empires, Blizzard brought us WarCraft. Both games I enjoyed so, so much growing up! :) Not World of WarCraft, though. I never got into this game, but I was never one for MMOs. So many great memories with the strategy games, though. :)

I would really like to see WoW to be able to be played on Xbox.
hard to make an mmo like wow work good on console. some classes can use up to 10 different abilites in a raid run. and u need to click new target in 2 seconds some places or you will kill 24 other players. even Fps games needs aim assist on console. but and edited simplified version might work. but u would still need a keyboard to communicate.
@@Infernal_Elf I don't mean playing it with a controller. I'm pretty sure that the xbox is able to use a keyboard and mouse, or if it isn't able to now it I am sure it can be done.
I farmed MC for months. Had a fully decked out character. Expansion came out. Little boar walking around a hill in the new region. Butchered it like nothing. Dropped green gear that was much better than anything I got from MC. That was my last day in WoW.
I just want a Blizzard game that isn't a live service game, no shop, no battle pass, no sub, etc. Like give me a horror game set during after Arthas' return from northrend, story driven game set in the Overwatch universe, a RPG telling the story of the War of the Ancients in Warcraft, or even a point and click adventure like the unreleased Warcraft: Lord of the Clans. in the worst case it's another game in the game pass.

I stopped playing WoW in 2011. If they can pull off making it great again, I’ll come back.
I have high hopes, but low expectations.
I've watched RUclipsrs over the years yell about what they want in world of Warcraft. And all those things I wanted all the things that people hate now. Top tier raiders have convinced the fan base over the years the in-game is all that matters. Gone are the hours of fun of leveling your character slowly enjoying every minute of it. Casuals are now at max level paying these people to run them through raids. Questing used to take hundreds of hours, now you get to max level in as little as 4. And content has to be made to keep us busy at max level. Gone are all the things we used to do, happily running back to town to learn our new spells. Everything is instant, but we call it quality of life.

I don’t trust the developers who came up with body type 1 and 2, as well as the femboy incubus to bring back the storytelling of old blizzard. Those developers just want to inject their world view into the fantasy world that made Blizzard famous.

I'm hoping that we are not on the true timeline, the titans have lied, and we will restart from the end of the lich king, that would be fantastic.

i feel like the people that made blizzard great in the past have already left though, now there are just a bunch of people that have made the junk that has come out the last few years. I don't think their is anyway of saving blizzard
I doubt MSFT will do much to be that hands on.
We'll see what we get, and if we each individually don't get what we desire, it's up to us to find the things that DO satisfy us.
Let's see where this goes, and if it doesn't go according to plan, I'll meet you all for a final sunset to WoW on the docks of Booty Bay.
I am still hoping for the complete world revamp, breathe life into the older xpasions and update the world to reflect the lore.

Activision-king was the main buy but bobby sealed the deal with making 3 NEW blizzard phone games , do people not see it fr? everyone still playing is covering the grave with dirt at this point , Microsoft legit said before they bought it that their main focus is to break into the phone game market cuz that was gaming market they're highly lacking in
Ye, I read through all their files and leaks during the FTC case, and Microsoft wants to lead the entire Mobile Gaming sphere, it's why I hope that using the IPs for mobile but at the same time, letting Blizzard make stellar PC games because it's such a small drop in the bucket for them. A man can hope ya know.

@@deckofcardboard I'm not saying the new leadership will be visionary but blizzard will still be blizzard. So things like Bobby kotick forcing ow2 to come out and shit like that. It's like going from a negative to a neutral. Well still have all the PC titles from Blizzard but free from toxic leadership like kotick possibly.
They should announce a pc game along a mobile game also, that Way they won’t get hate for releasing their Big Ips for phone. They gave us Age of Empires 4, While they announced Age of Empires mobile, it that Way we Can accept mobile games coming

That is a litural refrence to pizza tower, why? Because it implies Peppino showed up & did all the intro parts for us & skips us to the boat part in either Frostfire ridge or Shadowmoon Valley.
Imo does not matter what Microsoft lets Blizzard do atm. All the talent has left ages ago. The people there now ? They cant swing it.
And you dont get amazing talent back just by saying "Hey ! Activision is gone ! come back everyone!" It would take a decade for this to happen, and to have Blizzard be able to make the quality they were once known for.
On top, I think people are soft ignoring the fact that Microsoft is also very much interested in profit. I would not be surprised if they just continued doing what Activision did.

I did the same but when I watch lore videos I definitely feel like what I did would've been cooler if I knew the importance of it all.
When I think of wow , I think of island expansion with 8 new dungeons and a new raid , Ion doesn’t have a original idea in his head. They just keep doubling down on the same exact gameplay to make the same people happy, that’s fine but the sub numbers will continue to drop, it’s insanity to continue to do the same thing and expect a different outcome.
it can be hard to make it great again, because different people wants different things from wow, so yeah it can be hard.

Prob is... almost all the ppl who made the game are gone. I doubt that Metzen alone can make this game great again. But hope never dies.
We need WoW 2 with up to date graphics but feel of classic. with brand new story taking and alternative arch. For an example u could let illidan suceed in Destroying the lich king. when he was casting spells in Dalaran ripping northrend apart. Microsoft made a total shitshow out of Age of empires IV tho had tons of game breaking bugs at release.

If the old team was there we might have reason to be excited but since it's been passed on to a bunch of easily offended and stuck up idiots that have lead the war away from war craft I don't see anything changing under Microsoft. Just now they will be on games pass and a cheaper expansion should you be stubbed to gamespass
Hate to be the bearer of bad news here, but the Blizzard that you knew and loved is gone. Literally, those guys no longer work there. The new crew is corporatized and chase trends and money. They quite literally create ways to make money via video game. They don’t make games to be the most fun. Just the most addicting. It’s a new breed of developer. And they’re who work at Blizzard now.
Microsoft won't save WoW that's for sure. They can only destroy the game and it's story even more. WoW should just end, since it is beyond saving at this point.

Hate to be that guy, but a whole bunch of people lose their jobs when companies merge. And that'll probably happen here. Unless millions of people subscribe to the game again.

We need dark stories, not fluffed up rainbow unicorn shit. Fire all the writers and anyone who has anything to do with input on the story except Metzen. Dragons need to be more terrifying than what we currently have. Male characters need to be masculine again and not a neutered version of themselves. Get activist shit out of the game, also!

Nah, Microsoft sucks at producing games and has essentially failed with all their biggest exclusives in the last decade. Because of that, I have no faith they'll make wow better as they'll most likely just let Activision/Blizzard keep doing what they've been doing.

My man, there are better ways to make money. If you sell a shitty product, less people are going to buy it. If Microsoft gives WoW buffer time to become a better product, it will sell much more on the long run. Companies care about maximizing profits no matter what, and that leads them to understand that sometimes, you need to properly juice something and that takes time. Spotify, Uber and AirB&B for example, they are not currently profitable, in fact, they only loose billions of dollars yearly, aswell with all of the E-Sports orgs. Investors know that they will eventually be profitable and they are willing to wait for it, and Microsoft doing something like gamepass, they are not planning things in the short term.
