That's just... I mean... I cannot even begin to comprehend hwo this kind of thing happens. These guys have to be legitimate sociopaths to be doing this kind of thing, and not only doing it but trying to pawn it off on the shaman who they are abusing, to further abuse the keyholder. These are the kind of people who decide they are bored with keys, cannot progress further or are unwilling to put in the effort to progress further on thier main so they decide to "have some fun in low keys" by trolling people. Now don't get me wrong, I have had a DK tell a holy priest to life grip me to my death (Shoutout to Sylandria for the BoP) but that was in raid, once, when the fight was already over. This is like someone who saw that happen, spent 2 years thinking about how to weaponize it, and decided to unleash that power in a low key "for the memes". Unacceptable on every level. These people are trash and their mere presence in our game soils every other paying subscriber. This right here should be the example Blizzard holds up for the changes they make in m+ that address bad actors. Because if they use THIS as an example, there can be no argument, and anyone who tries well, to slightly misquote a sentiment of the immortal Jesse Cox... LoL is right over there, enjoy.

I had a bad AV on a personal level dying a lot, and the spriest told me to turn my monitor on, among other things. I didn't get discouraged by it or anything, I just engaged in the toxicity giving it right back and we finished the key no problem, nobody got banned, everyone went their own ways and it was fine. Toxic players should be met with toxicity, and the biggest pitfall you can hit is getting upset or trying to take the high road.
People in 2024 seem to forget the original culture of gaming stems from toxicity and competition. People are gonna get upset and talk shit, and people who can't take it shouldn't play the game then. This reminds me of a time at the end of SL where i was prepping my hpal for the new expansion and I joined a 20 iron docks and as soon as I get into the group, 3 of the 4 other people (im assuming they were all friends) are like "damn looks like we are going to have to carry this hpal" and keep in mind, Im pretty sure I was only like 50 score under these guys on my alt. But the whole time we are heading to the dungeon, they are saying things like "I expect to be payed for this carry" and similar things. When we get into the dungeon, they keep spamming trade with me saying to pay them since "they will be 4 manning the dungeon essentially". So i decided to wait for the key to start and right as it did i said something like "have fun with your 4 man since you can easily do it" and then left the key and ran out of the dungeon and blocked and reported all of them. There is a ZERO percent chance of two people colluding to troll the key and gaslight its other members into thinking they aren't doing anything wrong.
This type of thing will ONLY happen when you invite two or more people who are friends and likely in discord together for the run making comments about the group as it unfolds.
There is always a chance for disbands, bad players, failures etc.
That exists equally with a premade of 4 being invited or with 4 randoms, sure.

That misunderstanding has lead you to make this really embarrassing comment, but no worries, I will open your eyes on it all.
So I have made zero videos on this or any of my other channels "for clout." You would know that if you watched more than two videos out of the thousands and thousands of hours of content on this channel.
If you had, you would actually know why I made that video. And its going to make you facepalm when I tell you, because its the same reason I made this, and just about every other video of this type on this channel.
So what was the reason I made videos showing healers the value of doing DPS?

    Hmm, ok.
Immediately after the fight tank bolts off to the Guardian Sentry mini boss. We had a few deaths so we have some people that released and they're running back. I survived the fight so I go off with him. The tank grabs the mini boss without hesitation and pulls him closer to the landing zone on the small cross island so the mini bosses AOE covers the landing zone. Again we almost have a wipe as more people are coming over from the main land they're hitting the AOE as they land. Hmmmm...
Next we head over to start clearing trash for Crawth. Tank aggros adds then just stands there and several people pull aggro off him and die.
My friend pipes up in chat "WTF Tank?". Tank launches into this insane tirade of insults.

You can not be a casual player or a person new to the dungeon, and be treated with respect and helped or teaching people...
Most of the time you get people like this and it totally ruins you experience.
This is why I and many many other players quit.

Beyond that, quitting does the opposite of what you think it does. When players who are not toxic quit, it allows the toxic players to be a higher percentage of the population, thus ensuring the new generation of players run into it again.
Blizzard won't ever do anything about organic arguments in dungeons, so it's on us as a community to take a stand.

As a content creator I don't believe telling players to never take someone with higher score to a low key or groups of two because of these isolated incidents. How these players acted was not okay and there is no defense to it, but you spread a poor message by saying to just never take these people. You truly don't know a player until you play with them. There's a lot of great players willing to help lower scored people gear/complete keys, and there's also a lot of people who are gearing their friends.
As a high end M+ player who groups for lower content I can say that I bring some valuable help to these lower keys, and you portraying something that is a more isolated issue, and clumping a whole catergory of people together. When you surround yourself with negativity aka these types of videos you develop a negative outlook on the subject as a whole. I think a disclaimer would've been nice here. :)

You instead take it to a literal extreme saying if these players don't get invited to lower keys they wont be able to do keys. Obviously It's safe to assume it was sarcasm, but you miss the point of higher scored players being very helpful in MANY keys, and the amount of toxic players like these people are very small. I will reiterate that I don't condone or justify what these players did, I just wasn't a fan of the clumping of a small fraction of the playerbase into saying you should simply never take a higher scored player.

    • @heythereguysitsMetro
      @heythereguysitsMetro  3 месяца назад

@@Rave9700 no. An appropriate score player will be the most likely to put in the maximum effort to succeed. A high score player who doesn't need the key will only be doing it for some reason selfish to their own interests.
The most common thing I see besides keys that are farmed for gear is people trying new specs or builds.
This is particularly offensive as you might be actually getting some one who isn't any better DPS wise than a person of the correct score. And as soon as the key doesn't allow them to try their build they will lose interest.
Or even worse, as soon as they see they suck and don't enjoy the spec they may leave. Saw that a few times over the years as well.

They started by targeting the shadow priest for missing the kick but because they don't get a reaction they move on until they get a reaction from the shaman and once they got what they wanted they kept pushing for more reactions. Again I love trolling in my groups, pulling someone back so they cant go ahead of me was my go to troll on my priest, with the occasional pull into a stupid position (try to get them to fall off somewhere or get them stuck on some rocks) but outright killing someone in a key on purpose isn't trolling it's griefing. It's so sad to see stuff like this, genuinely sad. One of my irl buddies plays the game a lot more casually than me, floating in the 7-9 range for his aspect crests to upgrade his gear, and enjoys content at that level. I play the game more competitively, doing high keys and CE raiding. We love doing keys together as friends, but I unfortunately have to be deliberate about never inviting people with a higher IO when doing keys with him for this exact reason (unless I see a friend or guildie queueing up to game with the boys). I cannot fathom this mindset of queueing into lower keys JUST to grief them. It's people trying to do content that is an appropriate difficulty for them and progress in a way that they enjoy, and then some loser with a superiority complex because they dedicate more time and effort to a hobby just comes in and tells them they're trash and wastes collective hours of people's time to no end. It's gross behavior and I wish it got cracked down on since the people who act like that desperately need a break from the game. Unless you're in Echo or Liquid, there is ALWAYS going to be someone better than you, that's how the game works. I started the group waiting on a tank DH tank Qd with a hunter. The hunter was massively under geared but the tank has a 3600 io. I was like oh he's helping his buddy oh fine so I invited them.
The tank is being a little suspicious from the start. It was a 4 AA and he wasn't holding threat when he pulled the whole first room but I didn't think anything about it.
Killed first boss tank runs way ahead uses air bridge pulls the air elemental to the landing spot so everyone that lands gets stunned or instantly killed. I bubble out and live.
We use the air bridge and go to the birds tank just stands there doesn't even auto attack birds eat my face, it's just me and him there. I release and say wtf tank?
He replies back by saying "stfu you bold fat f*ck".
I'm in discord with my friends and he's like kick him we'll break it to a 3 it doesn't matter because this tank is being an ass.
So I kick him and his hunter buddy keep the other rando and fill it with a significantly lower heated tank and dps and 3key it.
Mean while the tank is whispering me just blowing up on me and linking his top 1% achievements and just really acting like a fool. I reply by asking him if he's okay? He keeps on. I'm like I'm sorry who are you? Just antagonizing a little at this point. He final stops whispering when I won't fight back and I reported for griefing not that anything will happen.
In your video you say do not invite duos. My friend and I group together all the time and are solid behaved players but it usually takes a bit to get into a group. Now I know why!!!

Every time I go to help or get a practice run in after running an alt or something, this is what I'm met with. This is totally horrendous and a good example of what happens. I would love to play with a same group of like minded players with kindness and fun, light hearted cooperation. Unfortunately, again, I don't know a group of like minded players and have to PUG LIFE it.. just to try for my personal best as a Holy Priest. I have been facing similar circumstances from an opposite perspective where people are inviting two of everything.. but especially priests. The Shadow priest almost always starts telling me they have such n so DPS for PI. They then tell ME who to pi. I then watch them pi no one.. and I'm feeling as if I have to pi the person they said they would and the person who i would've normally. :0) There's a whole other undercurrent going on when there are two priests. I have also witnessed multiple duos and tanks so bored that they scream and holler.. demeaning and shaming everyone on the team. Playing each character's role out loud in text, telling them every move to make as if they're an expert at all classes and roles. To leave the key or flat out make it so horrendous someone else wants to leave. It makes me sick with stress because that's the type of person I am. ( highly sensitive) helpful, kind, and dang determined that not only I but the whole group who joined this key in this moment are going to get their MONEY"S WORTH. I'm not sure.. I don't know why you think it's bad for an upper level person to run with lowers, however. I am not sure their io score has anything to do with their nastiness? I run low keys all the time to cheer myself up and be helpful without friends or a guild I enjoy to play with. It helps me feel part of the team work in some manner even though I have to withstand the pugs. I appreciate you getting this called out and shown. I have also noticed that people who grief like this.. will report the person being grieved as having grieved them or trolled the group. Has happened to me twice now. Im not saying you're wrong, but this behavior is a large part why I no longer play retail and WHY GUILDS are important. Blizzard has caved to the antisocial types through their game design in the name of "Accessibility". Which sounds good but the people that it helps the most are bad actors. Social pressure can be a good thing and forces bad actors to learn to work with others OR be left out. Their only other option is to form entire guilds that are like them but those guilds never last because they all hate each other lol. Now you have highly anti-social and arrogant people that BUY their progression from RMT then take delight in destroying the progress of others. YES, Blizzard should "do something" but they wont. Plus, if they were to purge players like this, they would lose tons of money because most players like this are whales. In short Blizzard created this environment because it makes them more money.. WITHOUT ACCEPTION, the most toxic games prioritize the ILLUSION of accessibility and RMT behavior.
