Can you get ahold of the devs and ask for Hotas support on console. I got the one that’s made for the Xbox when I saw squadrons trailer. It will be ashamed I can’t use it if they don’t give support for it 🤔
I would like to know what the controls are like on a controller and how much can you customize your control. I really didn't like the roll controls stuck to the right stick in Starfighter Assault on PS4. I would have enjoyed the ability to set up my controls like Rogue Squadron II on the Gamecube for example. Is this possible?
You should make a video on what ship types would be best for different people
I kept getting slaughtered by this one dude using a tie bomber
can’t wait for clips of people hitting upside-down bomb drop trickshots on interceptors flying above them
🤣🤣😅
Ah I can hear the sweats shaking already

This, this is my goal.
“360 drop-shot”
the Y-wing is my fav design from the movies. cannot wait to fly one in game
Agreed
What about the A-wings? I LOVE the A wings but I agree with u I cant wait for this game!
I want tie Interceptor
Same
I just convinced my GF to buy me a y wing lego set for my birthday and I'm hyped
Another role I think we're forgetting about for bombers: distraction. With a heavily armored bomber specialized for tanking lots of enemy fire, you can make yourself an "easy" target for enemy pilots. While you hold their attention, friendly fighters and interceptors can take them out from behind, or you can lead them toward friendly cruisers or capital ships to let the turrets do the work. You'd definitely need to choose components that maximize your durability, but I could see this being extremely useful for a well-coordinated team, especially if you've got a support ship nearby to keep the bomber repaired.
the good ole BAIT!!!. my personal fav.
That is what me and my friends are planning on doing when Squadrons comes out.
if you can distract 2 enemies in a fruitless battle to try and shoot you down, you proved yourself a valuable asset in your team. I think bombers will be underestimated and underused until pro's teach the nubs the value of bombers
Thats actually a smart thing
War strats
I think Rogue One did the Y-wing really well. That ion torpedo attack on the star destroyer was absolutely devastating. Also looked sick doing it's bombing runs on the ring.
I really wish they'd included a Mission Editor that would let people design missions to share with each other.
The X-Wing game before this had one, so there's no excuse they'd cut it out.
@@analtubegut66 there is an excuse... EA
@@floatingaround22 same
That'd be cool, but I wouldn't expect anything because its ea. They confirmed there will be no dlcs, micro transactions, or new game modes. Kind of a bummer because this game has so much potential, but of course it had to be ea that made it
they should make a CO-OP campaign mode
I'm just reminded of the First Battle of Borleias. Rogue Squadron were engaged in a close knife fight against a superior number of ties and interceptors. As with any dogfight speed had slowed ti maximise maneuverability. General Salm led 3 squadrons of Y wings straight through the combat blasting everything in front of them
I reckon you could pull this of with a couple of bombers once your fighters pull in the opposition into a close dogfight.
Another example was in the, IIRC, the final Rogue Squadron comic book series, "Rogue Squadron: Requiem." In the final issue, Rogue Squadron was trapped on a planet with a Star Destroyer, Admiral Krennel's personal one, and an Interdictor cruiser. They were starting to get overwhelmed when General Salm's Y-Wing's burst right into the dogfight and just smashed through the TIE fighters and forcing their retreat. The Imperials and even Rogue Squadron were surprised because they didn't know if their distress message was able to be heard.
EDIT: My mistake. It was in Rogue Squadron: Mandatory Retirement
I would love to see something like the game Dreadnought, but for star wars capital ships. That would be awesome.
There is something like that, but unfortunately its on roblox. It's called Project Stardust. Check it out if you want, it does have a good selection of ships and decent graphics but since it was made on roblox, it's prone to issues like desyncing and high ping. Also the community is extremely toxic so I wouldn't bother with that.
God no, dreadnought is awful. What you want to say is I would love star wars version of world of warships (with 3d movement)
Same
@@blazinex that works to.👍
Fun fact there was another dreadnought like game, called fractured space if I recall correctly. Wargaming bought them so a space world of warships game is not that far fetched idea, not starwars but something a long those lines
Note: Empire had good Design but the Rebilion had better design and Plot armour

I feel like because everyone will think no one will want to be a bomber and/or u wing there will l be to many . At least at the start.
I think so too, but I also think that people will figure out that premade groups dominate and if they coordinate their ship selection they will destroy any group of random players.
So a month later it’s launch day, and from what I’ve experienced most people play either Fighter or interceptor. I’ve very rarely seen supports or bombers, which is fine because I enjoy playing those two classes the most.
@@kronklybutcooler I've seen the same thing, all fighters and interceptors. I mostly play support (because I can't hit anything so instead I help teammates) and sometimes bomber. Then one of my friends only plays the Y-Wing as NR and constantly gets 15 kill games in Dogfight with it.
Better question: Are Tie fighters useless in star wars squadrons, tie interceptors seem like they are better in every way
With interceptor you have to go fast all the time to not be vulnerable. Tie fighters will probably have more versatility in most situations except dog fights of course, where the interceptor is meant to excel.
I would argue the opposite, the fighter class is the most all around ship and is capable of taking down capital ships as well as starfighters
TIE fighters have more access to heavy ordnance and of course a stronger hull; they're more capable of damaging capital ships
The tie interceptor hits harder, is faster, is more maneuvering, and is more or less just a better tie fighter
Probably they will be most useful for people who have no experience with combat flight sims, and when your match is going in an uncertain way, and you don't know if in a minute you'll be engaging enemy starfighters or attacking capital ships.
Of course you can fly back to the hangar but every second counts.
Formations of Y-wings are going to devastating.
If Motive knows what they are doing, they might have certain ships or load outs seem weak on thier own, and thus, the casual playerbase might disregard them or even demand they be buffed.
But they aren't seeing how powerful it is in an organized formation. That idea of a "force multiplier." You can build a Y-wing to "Zoom and Boom" frigates, and a group of them seems to have the damage numbers to melt one before the enemy team even realizes it's under attack.
3 Y-wings, ion laser cannons, all with bombs and ion torpedoes, Full power engines blast through the fighter screen, hose the frigate with canons and torpedoes, carpet bomb it as they fly over, then if they have the Boost meter, drift turn around and do it again.
SharpEdgeSoda that's what the American military thought in the beginning of ww2, look how many bombers got shot down
I personally gravitate towards "tanky" roles in games and definitely see myself playing the bomber the most unless it turns out to be an extremely underpowered class. I think this video was a great summary of why they won't be though, really looking forward to making an assault bomber loadout
The Y-wing has always been my favorite ship because in my head-canon, it's like the P-47 of Star Wars (even though with that engine setup it *looks* more like a P-38.) It should be very fast, faster than just about anything else, but not very maneuverable, so very high top speed, high rate of acceleration as well as climb and dive, but not good in a furball. It's also crazy sturdy, especially if you get one with the hull cladding still on, with good pilot protection and engines that are hard to knock out. (I'd really like to see a late variant of the Y-wing with more of a bubble canopy for better visibility) The two chin-mounted "laser" cannons are very heavy and will punch holes in turbolaser towers and vaporize TIE craft. They're heavy enough to shoot the head off an AT-AT. So it's a good "boom and zoom" fighter craft, but it also caries as shitload of ordinance for knocking out capital ship systems, melting fortified positions and tearing apart enemy armor units. It should be a little hard to get the hang of as a pilot, but very rewarding
I mean if you really think about it, a Y-Wing is just a heavy A-Wing in the same way a B-Wing is the heavy version of an X-Wing, and considering that the BTL-A4 Y-Wing was an extensively hot-riddled ship, there should be little disparities between it and the X-Wing when it comes to speed. I’m thinking the Y-Wing might be +91% the speed of an X-Wing and not dramatic as say 70% as canon makes it out to be.
I'm glad they're thinking about balance for the bombers because in the original X-Wing game the Y-Wing was pretty much strictly inferior to the X-Wing. Its only advantages were ion cannons (only really used for certain objectives) and 8 proton torpedoes instead of 6, neither of which compensated for the dramatic loss of speed and agility. Things were a little better in TIE Fighter because there was an expanded array of secondary weapons and a greater distinction between fighters/interceptors and bombers, but the TIE Bomber was still a horrific slug you'd never pick if you had an actual choice. Those X-Wing novels you mention were heavily inspired by those games which is why the bombers are depicted as a huge liability.
Nice video Eck! Something I've noticed from your Squadrons videos and videos from other RUclipsrs is the turning on each of the ships looks so smooth and is so satisfying in the way it looks.
I didn't expect it to be the case for myself, but I have fallen in love with the B-Wing. Forcing people into a joust and just letting those rotary cannons rip never gets old. It's also great how easily it can tear up capital ships
It depends how vehicles like the Y wing and the B wing are handled. In the old Tie Fighter games they had relatively poor speed and maneuverabilty although it was still possible. Where they were really good was in terms of firepower. For instance a Y wing can handle a much heavier missile payload than pretty much anything else less than a gunship. Otherwise there are the ion cannons that the Y wing has that are very good at draining shields and disabling enemies that can then be captured or simlply made vulnerable to be finished off easily (essentially a sitting duck). One more thing is that the missiles had a larger range than blaster cannons which can start off a dogfight by getting a numerical advantage to start with or by simply creating a distraction for incoming enemies.
I plan on making a very annoying anti-starfighter Y-Wing for Squadrons, particularly Dogfight mode.
Auto Ion Cannons with guided rotary cannons?
@@paristeta5483 and cluster missiles and an annoyingly tough shield.
That mission showed that Y-Wings didn't have to have a fighter escort, they were a plow with spikes on it that if they kept them from getting behind them, they were capable of taking in fighter squadrons much bigger than them. Snapping them off by the wings and punching straight through so long as they positioned themselves well and we're wise about trading hits vs. weaving in and out of fire.
5:28 Jesus Christ, that ISD wanted to *annihilate* that A-Wing.
They intensified forward firepower
oh, I will be in Y-Wings as well. I just hope they give it the ION Cannons
I love how the comm panel inside the cockpit almost looks like a 1970's Ping Pong game. lol
Thank you for clarifying the potent directional use of the Y-Wing as people tend to just dogpile on it because of games messing with the original cannon. In the original cannon, the Y-Wng was a heavy assault fighter that was nearly as fast as the X-Wing.
I am a huge fan of the much maligned Y-wing, per ratio more came home from Yavin than X-wings and you straight up see one shoot down two TIE interceptors in a row at Endor. Not to shabby for the flying side of a house!
Well; after building agile bomber builds for the past week in squadrons I can say they're not the best for max speed but damn do they do damage!
Very versatile, like a low speed/high maneuverable fighter class starfighter with lots of fire power.
I feel like a good idea for the game after launch would be a “community cosmetics shop” which would allow modders to make their own cosmetics that appear in-game. (in the case the game doesnt sell well and ea doesnt want motive to continue working on the game.) this shop would constantly be updating like fortnite and apex and many other games. but if the game does sell very well, then I would love to see more maps, private matches, etc, as well as the “community cosmetics shop.” (I dont want any more ships and main multiplayer modes because I agree with the devs’ reasons about only having 8 ships and 2 main modes). Any thoughts on this idea?
I don't see why not but I'm not sure
What if the customization option was like forza horizon? I think that would be cool
Hey Ecks, couple questions.
1) Is the turret mine a legit threat to starfighters?
2) Are the hit boxes for ships in this game more optimized for first person flight than Starfighter Assault from BF2?
3) Is the time to kill slower than Starfighter Assault?
From what I’ve seen on launch day:
#1 No I can’t really answer as I haven’t seen a lot of support ships, or turrets.
#2 The hitboxes are amazing and I’ve never had hit box issues with either the tie bomber or u-wing, and you can get millimeters away from a star destroyers hull with no problem with collision.
#3 The TTK varies. If you’re firing at say, a bomber or support ship, it’ll take longer, and it also varies on your weapons, but it’s generally longer then BF2.
Could someone link for me that breakdown of the Tie fighter short film mentioned in this video, I don't think I've seen and I can't seem to find it. Thanks.
Vwhere you able to stay in one faction or does it switch you automatically between matches
There were these giant "dumbfire" space bombs in the X-Wing series where you'd aim at a capital ship, release the bomb, and hope you were on target as they only fly in a straight line, but they were so powerful.
Of course all of the classes of ship in this new game need to be played by the general public and there will be patches and tweaks for the gameplay and such. Can't wait!
Hey eckhardts, will the Assertor Class Star dreadnought ever he added to Thrawns Revenge? Cause I would like an Imperial version of the Viscount, which is way overpowered in my opinion
A Worthy Argument for B-wings and TIE Defenders.
3:49 bombers have hats, who knew.
What joystick are you using, i bought a Thrustmaster Tflight Hotas X i and find it difficult to program, there is no software for it that i can find.
found a Win10 X-Wing classic i can play to get back into it.
how the scale going? because stuff looks weird @6:28 with the size of the tie bomber and the nebulon...
What pc hotas setup does squadrons support?
Those red interceptor wings look awesome. Do those have to be unlocked or is that customization available right away?
It'll be cool to see the development of the meta around building time-on-station bomber builds emphasizing durability vs. single-assault builds favoring lightning attacks. I feel like a team w/ strong interceptor support benefits heavily from having durable bombers, who can capitalize most effectively on having INTS/A's peel defenders off of them. Conversely, solo-carry bombers, or dedicated 3-bomber-wings with limited support would obviously want the ability to exit at high top speed.
You need to go viral so my friends that are not Star Wars fans will plays squadrons with me
1:26 "drop an extremely heavy payload" *drop* in space... sounds about right.
I think it's important for a game to play to a craft's strengths and weaknesses. In the old games it was mission-based. Your B-wing with 12 torpedoes and 6 fire-linked ion cannons and lasers didn't matter if you neglected your incoming attackers and remember to switch gears to attack the TIE bombers going for your allied mission critical craft. Before long your powerhouse b-wing is being hounded by literally everyone and all you wanna do is finish off the offensive and defensive enemies that the X-wings are too busy to handle so you can move onto your torpedo run.
I enjoy the Rebel ships but I’ll be probably mostly playing Imperial as an interceptor with the 181st fighter wing. Your interceptor footage has shown me I’ll be able to fly it how I expect it should handle. Looking forward to using my flight stick to play.
Hey,
Do you know if the Medium sized ships will despawn after there destruction (like the wreck of an arquitance class cruiser)? I would be happy about an answer and very high quality videos 🙃.
That composite beam seems pretty legit against the corvettes and frigates.
It the original XWing series I used to love the Y-Wing because one shot from the ion cannon would disable most ties. You could disable then easily kill them. Also could disable capital ships once their shields were down.
variant on the Y-Wing with the top mounted gun that can rotate 360 for defense?
can you switch to s3 y-wings so you get heavier forward facing fire
I'm very excited to become a Y-wing/U-wing pilot, maybe even the best in the Galaxy...
I’m actually really looking forward to trying out the Bombers in Squadrons. I already know I’ll want to “main” as an Interceptor but even on Starfighter Assault from Battlefront II I find myself drawn in to performing bombing runs during matches, joining the A.I bombers that fly through to aid the objective on most levels. Plus the potential for pool-table style trick shots with bombs in 360 degree space is just too damn tempting for me to stay away.
I have always loved the Y-Wing and the TIE Bomber for that matter, they were and are my favorite star fighters. I fly it like a missile truck and a heavy fighter. Let the enemy try to take me in a head on fight if they dare. The various video game adaptations really do these bombers the most justice, especially the Y-Wing with its turrets, heavy cannons, and out of this world toughness it can dog fight with the best of em.
I am simple man. I see Eck, I drop like. Simple life
Can you match the speed of your target? This was a feature in X-Wing/TIE Fighter that I made heavy use of
The oldie and goody game Star Wars: Rebel Assault 2 shows the protagonist chopping up a pack of Tie-Interceptors by keeping the Imperial Bucket Heads in front of them. The squared up in a line then started weaving maneuvers where the Y-Wings would over lap over each others vecters of fire or jack knifing around in we!I circled to keep them from getting behind them.
Looking forward to get into the chock-pit of the TIE bomber soon loved them in X-wing vs TIE-fighter & the BF series
4:21 So they need to add B-wings basically. (I think they should add a few "unlockable" ships that have multi-role options and that sort of customisation, gives even more insentive for playing and leveling up, as well as being additional variety of content in general).
Hey,
Do you know if it is possible to fly into the hangars of the capital ships (like in the hangar of an Star Destroyer)? Would be happy about an answer and very good video👍🙃
On Fleet Battles, the only thing that I use is a bomber: rotary cannon, beam cannon, cluster missiles, reinforced hull, slam engine.
I wonder how ion torpedoes and ion bombs will interact with capital ships once their shields are down or the launcher is under the shield. Do they just fizzle on the star destroyer/mc75’s hull, or can they interact with the capital’s subsystems?
Can you run into fixed cover and damage your ship?
Hey, Ecks!
I was wondering if you could go over what features you were able to see in Practice Mode, like what all you can do, if you can practice with friends, and how many modifiers are available.
I don't know how much time you spent in there, but I think it's so cool that we have the option, especially considering that EA doesn't usually include a mode like this in their multiplayer games. I feel the ability to practice outside of online play, and even single-player campaigns, is essential for forging an effective player/team.
P. S. - I'm glad you brought back the corgi at the end!
I can’t wait to fly a y wing!!
I bought VR just for this, but my one burning question is about drifting. I know they went over it a little more on twitter, but I'd love to see a deep dive on how drifting is going to work.
I‘m hyped for the TIE Bomber, it’s always been my favourite! Ever since I first saw it in ESB, and later in Star Wars: TIE Fighter, I loved it. It’s challenging to fly; but, oh the punch it packes 😁
I like how you and Charlie have very different styles in how the videos look and editing styles
If you mean that Charlie is a better editor than me, you're right on that :P
1:44 Pro gamer demonstration of how a bomber can take out enemy fighters lol
As someone who is not great at maneuverability yet, the bomber is great because you can make it very tanky. It's great on defense. Just use the rapid laser canon(I cant remember its name) against fighters. It has the added benefit of immediately being able to go on the offense when the battle switches and attack capital ships. Coupled with a good support ship, the bomber is nearly indestructible.
I already am going into this game with the expectation of loving the bomber class, and this video helped that feeling. I’m a super aggressive player who loves dealing out high amounts of damage (normally scoring a few kills and then dying). I am willing to sacrifice speed and maneuverability for that, so yes, we exist, and you can expect to see bombers like me out there.
So the games out, what do you think of the bomber class?
@@dustinakadustin nice follow up!
The Y Wing bomber is SO OP against capital ships, especially with the shields. Definitely a great ship for bombing runs, but it is easy to get flanked and lasered by an interceptor or normal tie with bad maneuverability. You can compensate with different loadouts, but I think that defeats the specialty.
The TIE bomber is not as specialist. Sure, with an ion missle loadout, you will do good damage against a capitol ship, but I feel the TIE Bomber is better as a hybrid. A loadout with a normal missle and a repair kit or ion missle can do wonders. Missle for bombing runs, repair if using repair kit, and pick off some ships before going for another run. You could also apply an ion laser cannon , which will do good damage against the ships shields but in order to destroy a ship or the hill of a capitol ship, you will need to wait for the normal missle to reload and get a precise shot without being countered.
For these reasons, I much prefer the Empire. The rebels are better for attack due to shields. But the empire can be much more versatile. You can make a bomber / fighter class as described above easily, but you need to be careful not to overbalance.
Do you know how the AI of capital ships handle prioritizing targets? I'm thinking of an interceptor/bomber pairing, where the interceptor goes first and draws fire from a capital ship, then the bomber goes in and has a clear run at the target without taking fire. I'm really curious if that's a viable strategy or if the AI is good enough to focus on the threat that's actually trying to kill it. Thanks!
Ok. So I played the tutorial and thought oh this is fun, and then playing on easy against ai on capital defense I was being mowed down and I am generally "ok" on battlefield 5 in fighters or bombers. But I get lost, or I just can't see someone is behind me and it's a bit frustrating even with the vr freelook advantager. Help?
I know that the TIE Bomber is EXTREMELY powerful with the right loadout. The guns against other players are pretty damn deadly too while still using the loadout for annihilating capitals. I can't recall the name of the weapon, but it powerups and fires a beam. That thing EATS corvettes for example.
I really enjoy piloting the Tie bomber and believe it has a solid place in any squadron, and not just as a punching bag role.
I'm going to try to get get really good at this class strategy is definitely my style of play as well being the one ready to delete any opponent that gets in my view port
Good to hear
I was thinking have using the loadouts as heavy fighter and full on bomber
Keep up the good content!
Can you switch your ship's loadout mid game?
I’ve played some X-Wing Remastered, but I’m mostly a Rogue Squadron junkie. As somebody who’s actually played the game (and not just inferring from trailers), will my Rogue Squadron experience benefit me, or is it pretty exclusively just the X-Wing/TIE Fighter stuff?
hey ecks is is it possible to drop those bombs on other ships/fighters? those bombs must do enought damage to one hit a player
I believe so, yes. I noticed I got the bomb ready indicator with no capital ship below me
Well technically it should be possible but the speeds at which fighters move it would require perfect reaction time and lots of luck
@@EcksToo Do bombs really fly straight down, or do they get the speed of the ship added? Do Missiles? Do you have any detailed info the the emergency power for the Tie Classes? Haven´t found a good information on that topic, only the conceptual idea, boost laser, get weak engines, but how much is weak engine...
Can a Y-wing have a on board anti star fighter turret like they did in Star Wars the clone wars
Oh Ecks, trying to bait us with that title!
But I know the meta for easy wins during the release is 4 bombers + 1 support.
And OtaKing is still the best SW animator alive.
Question how are they going to balance all the ships for example how many support ships can you have. I feel if you can have 5 that would be unstoppable
Ion cannons craft attacking one Support ship and ion missiles another, that´s two out for a moment, mirror that with another, that´s four out for a moment. Leaves 3 other ship for the finishing punch (maybe Goliath missile?) or assist/redundancy functions.
I mean everything is a guess right now, but here are ideas to try.
It sounds like support ships will not pack much firepower, making it a lot harder to actually take out enemy pilots without another more offense-focused ship doing most of the work. They also lack the engine power and maneuverability to easily track most targets or avoid attackers. Essentially, I don't think they'd do well due to a lack of damage potential and speed. I could see a pack of Interceptors or Fighters faring better, but based on most of what we've learned so far, it seems likely that a balanced squadron comprised of multiple ship types/roles will be the most effective.
BucklingSwashes yeah like 5 interceptors in dogfights may be the only ship composition you see
Currently the ship I'm really interested in is the TIE Bomber. I'm excited to play the TIE Interceptor as well, but when I saw in the trailer that you can drop bombs I knew I want to master the Bomber class.
Are there loadouts for bombers like the Missle boat in Tie Fighter? Basically massive missile carriers that establish space superiority with a massive load of concussion missiles?
I'm hoping the bombers will have the option of being a kind of sniper class. A loadout with long range precision weapons would be pretty cool. Not too long range where you could just sit under the protection of your capital ship and safely shoot across the map, but enough that you could engage from outside the firing range of enemy capital ships and the other typical starfighter loadouts.
Like the ion torpedoes the y wings shot at the star destroyer in rogue one
I would be really interested to know whether real WW2-era fighter tactics would work in Squadrons. They were really useful in the X-wing games, especially Alliance where you had rudder control. For instance, a barrel roll (not spinning, which is an aileron roll and not a good trick) is really useful for making you hard to hit and making an enemy fighter overshoot you, so you end up behind them.
Also, the idea of doing actual squadron tactics really, really excites me. Like of the 5 fighters, you could have 2 flights of 2 fighter/bomber squads that cover each other, and one support ship that joins one flight but reinforces the other when necessary. Stuff like that is what will make this game amazing. I want this to be the "Squad" of Star Wars.
With the lack of(as far as we know) ground support missions, I doubt it. I mean, if you and your friends stick to a wing then you will probably stomp the opposition but the number of WW2 tactics that apply to fake space is limited.
Do you guys have a discord for gaming? I would like to join it if you do?
"Oh my god, JC, a BOMBER!"
*"A B O M B E R."*
I hope they keep cockpit/ship destruction like the old xwing/tie fighter games. For instance if you get your hull into red depending on where you were hit it'll blow out your targeting computer or some other area of the cockpit, or knock out your hyperspace drive till it gets repaired. The missions that you were able to complete but came back with your cockpit almost totally blown out were pretty fun. Also don't bombers use proton torpedoes at range? Not sure how I feel about close range bombing. It was fun to get within a certain range of the capital with your squad then launch 14 torpedoes each (some of which got shot down in flight).
Super excited to try Tie Bomber personally :D
My favorite starfighter has always been the y wing ever since episode 4 and i am very excited to hop in and customize my very own in squadrons
I cannot wait for this game. Totally gonna focus on the Y wing
Looking forward to making a bomber a mini capital ship that destroys anything that comes near it
How did u get early access
Hope they add some more content later, I'm thinking of troop transport missions etc. Realy would like to fly a Lambda Shuttle full of Troopers into a hot Drop Zone.
Anyone miss Nym's Havoc from Star Wars Starfighter and Jedi Starfighter? That was a fun bomber in the Star Wars universe that was never depicted as fodder for fighters.
To be honest, I've felt a little starved for bomber content out of Star Wars Squadrons coverage because it's the class I want to hear more about.
Absolutely!! It's my favorite bomber in sci-fi. Absolutely awesome bomber and Nym's was super customized.
But in the X-wing novels the Y-wing is described as pretty deadly, even if slower than the X-wing.
I remember doing bombing runs in X-wing vs Tie Fighter without targeting the capital ship to avoid being targeted by the capital ship... such good times :)
The Y-wing is the fighter I’m most excited to get behind the controls of! Been my favourite fighter since rogue. Squadron way back when!
I love playing bombers squad up with me Ecks
I’ve been waiting for this video. The bomber class is my second favorite (behind support of course).
I am already laying out Y-Wing plans :) :) }:)
I suppose I should also do some TIE Bomber setups too.. I might be more of a TIE Fighter pilot in the Imperial side, though
