The USPS hasn't turned a profit in decades, is no longer a necessity thanks to the implementation of electronic communication and delivery carriers such as FedEx and UPS and now appear to be engaged in criminal behavior. They have loosened their standards for hiring and now employ people known to use drugs, have questionable character and unethical standards so it comes as no surprise to learn employees are stealing from customers. The problem goes all the way to the top. The same culture of corruption saturating Federal Government is also present in the USPS. You do not employ substandard people and get stellar results ... Duh. A bloated, benefit saturated pension program combined with above noted problems makes the billions yearly in bailouts from taxpayers a STUPID ACT! No private business could continue to operate with these factors so why does the failing USPS continue getting a free ride? I suppose I could ask the same question about the millions of illegals my tax dollars are supporting right now too... 😢

I had a check stolen and the evidence showed it had to be an employee. The check was dropped off AT a post office counter and when what I received was the opened envelope in one of the USPS plastic bags, sealed, stating the item had been damaged, and thus the encasing. So the only people who handled the envelope were postal workers.

A few years ago I ordered scrubs, I had just been hired to start working at a Veterinary Hospital. I was working my 2 weeks at my previous job and got a message that they were delivered around noon. I worked right next to my house at the time and ran home to check on it as soon as I went on break. By the time I got home to check it had been maybe 10 minutes after I got the delivered notification. I didn't see it though so I figured someone else brought it inside already. When I got home it was nowhere to be found. Also, it wasn't at any of our neighbor's places, unless they brought it into their own house. I checked everyone's porches already.
My grandma told me we got a knock on the door and that my package was there sometime after 9:30pm even though they marked it as delivered at noon...The only thing I could think of was that whoever took it found out what it was and figured they couldn't sell it or use it themselves.

Well, if they work in Tucson, Arizona they are too busy conspiring with management in the Tucson Mail Processing Plant to cover up management’s misconduct, by refusing to investigate employee claims of battery and threats by management against employees.
I know this first-hand because it happened to me. 22.5 months out of work. It took finally getting an arbitration date, never made it to arbitration, to get my job back, full back pay, including overtime. Which they have refused to honor the agreement they made that I have been fighting for nearly a year.
They had no case and they knew it; and they also, with the help of the postal inspectors who refused to investigate my complaint the plant manager committed battery on me moments before she fired me allowed it to happen. You cannot fire an employee without due process, but not being paid nor having access to my job for 22.5 had the same effect whatever they wanted to call it.
The way the script was to play out, I was supposed to beg them for my job back. I used a different script, one that had me not allowing the plant manager to batter me, destroy evidence, and have the postal inspectors right in the middle of it refusing to investigate my claim, while conspiring with management to cover it up without a fight.
I am still fighting this; and management is trying to fire me again. This time, I get my 1,200.00 a week while they play this game.
In the meantime, I have plenty of time to work on my EEOC case from before I was fired that got me fired, file National Labor Relations Board charges for unfair labor practices and whatever else I need to work on to fight the USPS. They picked the wrong person to make their victim.
I had and have one simple goal, go to work and do my job to the best of my ability, and go time.
Their goal, was to keep fucking with me because I refused to work in unsafe conditions; and had no problems fighting for my rights when they tried bullying me.
When the entirety of an employee's problem are with management, not co-workers, not attendance, and not job performance related, the USPS should know it management, not the employee who is the problem.
USPS management does not care about your mail. They only care about protecting management; and by protecting management they are protecting themselves.
If you think USPS management cares about what they consider your problem, you'd be wrong. They only care about protecting themselves at all costs.

If priority packages are not delivered within the given USPS delivery time period , then the sender should receive a full refund. Presently there is no incentive for the Post Office to get the job done.

I already commented on this video about it but we had a postal worker fraudulently sign for a check. We were extremely lucky they ridiculously put it in our mailbox and didn't even check that we were all home waiting for it.
We always hide anything sensitive in letters so they can't see what's inside the envelope at least. I'm so sorry that happened to you!!
A long time ago we lived in Mexico, NY (which actually exists and I'm not kidding but it's by Texas, NY lol) but our grandma tried to send us money one year but they sent it to the actual Mexico and we never got it. From then on she signed USA in giant letters on the envelopes and then we actually started getting our mail from her after that. I swear they emphasize having the proper zip code listed and then they don't even look at the thing sometimes.

I myself have had 2 letters never show up at their destination and I hardly ever use USPS.....maybe 4 times per year.
People report their lost mail and nothing is ever done; they never hear back from USPS.

There is a way to fix the key 🔑 issue. Change the locking boxes to a code for the mailman. So, for the regular customers, they will still have keys, but the mailman has a code they type on the box. The post office should have these codes changed once a week. This should keep criminals at bay for a time being. The best ones to put in are the fingerprints. They will leave the postmaster alone if that was put on these boxes. Yes monthly the costumer will have to eat the cost but frankly they all ready are by the theft.

Also always tape the envelopes and mark around the stamps with pen. Trust me people steal everything unfortunately, but cards are usual targets for them because people usually send cards with cash, checks, or gift cards inside. Luckily, it wasn't more money at least! It's happening in Virginia as well. Our distribution center is absolutely the worst. My SIL sent my daughter a box of pictures that has fallen into a black hole....this was weeks ago! I stood in line with two elderly women who had not received mail for MONTHS! The USPS needs to out of government control because they screw everything up. We had the worst carrier for months- wrecking our packages, shoving parcels in the mailbox that clearly was not going to fit...but he shoved them in there and it took us 20 minutes to get it out. When I went to complain something very enlightening was revealed. I told the postal worker what was happening, she asked us our location, we told her and she said, "I know who your carrier is and I'm sorry. He is a problem employee but unfortunately for you and us, he will not be terminated because WE ARE UNION! There you have it, folks - the truth. Unions had their usefulness generations ago, but that is not true today.

Correct. In most companies the "vast majority" of the total employees would not consider engaging in any criminal behavior. It only takes a small percentage of a 600,000 employee workforce to become corrupt to cause their customers to lose faith in the services provided. Especially when the service they provide carries checks, credit/debit cards, Federal/State tax info, personal accounts info, needed medicines and the list goes on. Remember when a Grandparent could trust USPS with a child's birthday card containing cash to reach them. No one in their mind does that now. Just a cards envelope size is enough for a worker to "remove for inspection".

I'm not in Texas, but literally the other week we had someone send mail that was supposed to be signed by us! The delivery driver fraudulently signed for the mail. So incredibly stupid especially since we requested proof of delivery, so we even have a photo of the falsified signature! When we put in a complaint we were told that that has been happening A LOT with them signing for people's packages: legal packages, divorce papers, you name it. They could easily sign that it was delivered and take it themselves.
We were INCREDIBLY lucky that they at least put it in our mailbox but we were searching for it everywhere at first. It was delivered earlier than we were told it was supposed to arrive but luckily we were waiting at home for it. It was supposed to be delivered into one of our hands but they didn't even ring or knock either. They were LUCKY they at least put it in the mailbox and didn't take it because they would have been done! And luckily no one steals from the mailboxes here either, so far.
