    YO GUYS here in 2020 with a question , so for a bit heavier setups theres alot of discussion on how well the gearbox will handle everything and reliability of the engine , for something similar to this what is the best engine with idk I guess 'towing capacity ' to allow it to handle the torque on extra contact patch on the tyres

    • @GrenadeMotorsports
      @GrenadeMotorsports  3 года назад +4

      Great question! After many years of building bike powered cars- here's what I've learned about it- Stock clutches fail QUICK. Go with heavy duty friction discs and heavier springs. Also keeping oil flowing under hard long sweeping turns can be an issue unless you add a dry sump system. If I were going to build one today I would use the biggest engine I could find- 1000cc and UP. Thanks for watching!

      whether if in use at high speed will be hard to control?

    • @GrenadeMotorsports
      @GrenadeMotorsports  5 лет назад

      I used a Chain Drive on the bike powered stuff like this. When we used snowmobile power, we used their belt drive clutches. Bike engine power, always got good gold chain and nice sprockets on a spool shaft, with CV type stub axles for the independent rear suspension. :) Thanks for watching!

  • @normanparthiban4383
    @normanparthiban4383 4 года назад +1

    What did you use for a rear diff?

    • @GrenadeMotorsports
      @GrenadeMotorsports  4 года назад

      No diff- it was a center section on a spool with flanges to take the half shafts, CV style. The center spool carried the sprocket AND the brake disc. Live axle basically but it worked very well. Thanks for watching!!
