Thanks guys for your kind comments! This is a great fun story and the young man and his family are really great people. I think he has a great academic and career future ahead of himself.
I imagine this is the first step with what will be an on going project. Start him on something slow that he can fix, break, and not really hurt himself. Now he can start learning how to fix and upgrade parts. Making it better and faster in the process. Looks like he has a lot of love and support- so cool to see people providing awesome opportunities for young auto fans
His drawings were really good and that 6 wheel Tyrrell cart was amazing. Well done for helping guys like this. It would have been good for him to see his reactions for the difference between that and a standard cart. Like Like Like.
Once he’s more comfortable I bet he finds you can push that thing pretty hard thru the corners..how cool....it’s always nice to see when adults w the resources take a genuine interest in a kid (w out the intent of tryin to molest him )who otherwise would probably never be exposed to these opportunities
It's great to see someone in Motorsport offering to tutor and build up a young guy this way. Well done to you and your team and to the young man who I hope will carry on with design. There is a bright future ahead if he does.
what an awesome video and a super cool thing you have done for this kid! He will never forget this and hopefully this will become something he continues to pursue for many years to come!
(edit) I've wanted to build a Kart like this since the 90's, but with a 500 or 750 bike engine. I also know that would be the QUICKEST way to lose my license, so I've kept temptation at bay. But DAMN, Lakeshore Dr. beckons with a 100mph Kart romp. 😎
Man i loved it when my grandparents bought me a gocart. I started off slow, but by the time they sold it i ran out of gas more than a few times because i lost track of time in combination with only going full throttle of course.
This kid is not only technically gifted, but his deadpan quick witted humour is quite funny..."small and stupid", lol Only thing, seems to me he's riding rather tall over the chassis, but maybe it is wide enough to not turn over at high speed. I bet he knows what he is doing. Nice car.
Haha I love this kid, sounds like quite the jokester, but you can tell he's incredibly smart. The kart is fantastic as well, anyway I could get ahold of the plans?
One thing I wish that younger people would consider is the seat comfort and constant vibrations , dad's mate has all sorts of spinal issues due to lifelong Kart racing (I'm not sure on the details , but he could barely walk at 50 )
That kart has a lot of potential, i'd start with a Tillet seat to hold you in better, but ya that has a lot of potential... did you find a way to get the solid rear axel to tricycle or did you use a diff?
Can you explain how the kart maintains full traction if the rear wheel is larger than the fronts? Did you compensate that with offset front axle heights?
You’re over thinking this. All the tires contact on the same ground plane. The front caster angles are the same. The front wheels have no idea how large the rear is other than contact patch and how much “squish” of the rear tires there is.
HI my name is George and would like to venture into automotive engineering in the F1 field...i build carts and stuff but i want to further my knowledge would you mind mentoring me
It's cool but why add the resistance do you have four wheels of front it's not worth the sacrifice of resistance on the cart picture of the wheels off the front preferably the middle 2! Put you a cbr1000rr motor on there. Or maybe a Hayabusa 1300 and you just made a really fun kart then you actually may want the four tires up front. It is a really cool cart for his first design. Congratulations kid I will say I really like it at least you didn't do the same old same old.
6 wheels works at 200 mph because the front wing on the tyrell allows the air to travel over the front tyres which were tiny, don't think that advantage would work on a go cart
Thanks guys for your kind comments! This is a great fun story and the young man and his family are really great people. I think he has a great academic and career future ahead of himself.
I really enjoyed that adventure!
Yes, he dose his father must be really proud I would be too. Your batmobile soo crazy awesome piece of engineering drivable art.
How old was he when he built it
Looks cool. They should put real shifter kart engine in it. 250cc 2cylinder 2 stroke with 100hp would be nice.

Next step: GSXR engine.
Will Trykowksi MY GOD!!!
Bah. Tesla Model S engine :P
Nah turbo diesel
I love this kid.
My hero! That is very cool!
Now that is super, and you are a great person Casey. Well done fore helping people like that.
Time to start adding power til he’s losing traction.
His drawings were really good and that 6 wheel Tyrrell cart was amazing. Well done for helping guys like this. It would have been good for him to see his reactions for the difference between that and a standard cart. Like Like Like.
I’ve been seeing the pictures for Hamsters build for so long, and now it’s so cool to see it finally driving! Great job Hamster and Casey 👍🏼
Tim Taylor says it needs more power. Good that he has a sense of humor around a bunch of adults.

This is GREAT. so glad to see 5k views on it. Come on 500k views! RUclips might be catching on! 5m+ views, Let's go, Hamster! ;)
I was grinning the whole time watching this video, so inspiring.
The car community and the world needs more people like you Mr. Casey. Thank you for being so open and influential sir.
(Sends a digital hug)
Awesome. Thanks for the update on this young kid. I saw the video on vin wiki and I'm so glad that he's doing so great.
This just goes to show talent can be found anyhwere just waiting to be unlocked and blossomed.
Future seems bright got to wear shades. 👍😎👍
Dean Flet accurate!
Both of you are legends. Well done for giving the young lad an outlet and top marks to The Hamster for the build.
awesome build, always loved the Tyrell 6 wheeled design!
The color combo is fantastic looking
Really admire how you took the kid under your wing and mentored him. Awesome vid!

This is soo cool, AMAZING work!!
what an awesome video and a super cool thing you have done for this kid! He will never forget this and hopefully this will become something he continues to pursue for many years to come!
That is pure awesome-sauce, and yes; I would like another helping. ❤

such a cool and unique kid! awesome video
Coolest go kart ever is the 4 engine AWD go kart from Carsandcameras
that looks incredible, i love the p34 but this is actually just as cool
Daang! Tyrell F1 go kart looks pretty sick! Also reminds me of a Cyber Formula car, Super Asurada 01
That kid is awesome
Man i loved it when my grandparents bought me a gocart. I started off slow, but by the time they sold it i ran out of gas more than a few times because i lost track of time in combination with only going full throttle of course.
Yesss ive been wanting to see this drive around

Bet that extra set of wheels prevents like no understeer
I like this kids attitude
He definitely balances humor and seriousness with a work ethic well.
Yup his cool😎
He's a great kid with a brutal sense of humour. Hope he goes far! :D
Haha I love this kid, sounds like quite the jokester, but you can tell he's incredibly smart. The kart is fantastic as well, anyway I could get ahold of the plans?
Mitchell Takes thank you, but sorry brother the plans exist only in the Hamster and my heads.
Awesome! Needs more dakka though!
Wow we need this in Mario Kart!
May god bless you plenty for all this!
I wish i had one of these, but with a bigger more powerful engine, way more powerful
Panigale v4 engine???🤣
with that space at the back you could put a v4
Very cool... Looks like the left front wheel isn't touching the ground fully.
Joey Shreve caster angle at rest while turned.
With a lo 206 motor and a lower of chasie rear and lower seat, this would make a nice race cart.
A young han from f&f lol
With all that floor space underneath you could easily manage a diffuser
Great stuff man; i'm subbing
SCRABSDEAD - Motorsport Tributes thank you!
Center of Gravity is a bit high, Next time put the axle above the frame and not under it.
One thing I wish that younger people would consider is the seat comfort and constant vibrations , dad's mate has all sorts of spinal issues due to lifelong Kart racing (I'm not sure on the details , but he could barely walk at 50 )
LOL, just got to the end... Locktite is your friend.
Awesome ~!
Put a rotax engine or shifter that thing would fly with all that rubber
Would love to see that going around Mosport kart track!
They call him Mr. Bombastic 💛🤣💛
That kart has a lot of potential, i'd start with a Tillet seat to hold you in better, but ya that has a lot of potential... did you find a way to get the solid rear axel to tricycle or did you use a diff?

Well it's based off a classic F1 car, so it should mostly just work
This kid is cooler than me!
this might be a long shot, but wasnt this at Road America for the 2019 vintage weekend??
Colin S yes it was!
@@CaseyPutsch hahaha no shit, I took pictures of it! Right across from that japanese E30 M3. Were you there/are you going this year?
🔥
Wouldn't the aft steering wheels need greater Ackerman than the front steering wheels?
What was the budget for this project? Would love to try this over summer!
Nat Margetts less than 1,500
*Heinz Doofenschmertz has entered the chat.*
If I had the materials garage and tools I could do it oh and money I'm super creative
What engine did u use
Did that kid just bring the Tyrell P34 back from the dead?
What are you going to do? CRASH IT!!!
Those 4 dislikes were the people who complained that the tyrell 6 wheeler was cheating
Funny kid
Mini Tyrrell P34
Just by the shit talking alone this kid is going places :D
"What are you gonna do with it?"
"Crash."
Reminds me of a williams f1
That's one of my favorite F1 cars of all time!! That kid is so talented!! Glad you were Able to give him the opportunity to live this out!
I would love to build cool things like this, but I just don’t have the resources to actually make anything.
HI my name is George and would like to venture into automotive engineering in the F1 field...i build carts and stuff but i want to further my knowledge would you mind mentoring me
Looks like something from pikes peak
Whats the specs of that rear wheels
They are hoosier's slicks for smaller atv asphalt racing on wheels that I think were intended for golf carts
He build a 1976 tyrell. Nice

make it blue and add a decal and make it say Renault Elf
You could put a undertray on it 😏
Quello col giubbotto bianco col cappello bianco assomiglia a Jenson button
升級成阿斯拉外殼如何?
6 wheels works at 200 mph because the front wing on the tyrell allows the air to travel over the front tyres which were tiny, don't think that advantage would work on a go cart
Why not put a proper engine on it? It has so much grip now.
can me and my bab came see car
with that space at the back you could put a v4
Just what I was thinking😭 too bad though
