I am going to be honest, it barely looks like a go kart, it's some crazy mix between a f1, ariel atom, and yes, also a go kart. That thing looks wicked
Nice! Finally someone who knows how to build real kart. I've seen so many of these smaller hayabusa or gsxr karts with way too much horsepower, but your is bigger and seems to have perfect balance in every aspect.
Chuck...you guys are sick...I mean that in a great way.I have a 09 r6 and a 05 r6, both wit graves exhaust.that cart is really kool...keep up the good work brotha.YAMAHA ALL THE WAY.
This would be such a fun sport to start....Its like mini Formula 1! They should sell this as a kit so people can start building and racing these on the weekends!
Something like this needs to start being mass produced. I’m sure everyone would love to buy this if it was for sale at a Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, or Kawasaki dealership. Especially a street legal version. Even if it can’t be made legal I would still buy it no matter what. Please somebody or some corporation develop a cart like this for us all here in America!
Having initiated the comment as somewhat a compliment to the Karts creator I have learned some things (such as; Top Gear track is an air field, not parking lot) and I enjoyed the responses. It may sound like an afterthought but I actually forgot the Atom's now a V8, for some inexplicable reason I was more intrigued with the original 4 cyl. which is what was in my head at the time. They did put a CBR600RR against the Atom, it (the bike) lost in the turns, straights were surprisingly close.
No, it's called a Formula Four, and we have been racing them for over 40 years in Canada on the big tracks like Mosport. Cars are limited to 750cc, but full aero package is allowed. They are one of the fastest cars on the track.
At 16 seconds in he does a spin and you can see the rear straight on. The rear sprocket and the single rear disk are easy to spot, but the rear frame mount is kind of hidden. See where the wing mounts? That I believe is the axle bearing. Look closely at the right front at 40 seconds in. The upper A arm has caster and camber but no shock. My thinking is it's solid.
Very cleanly turned out - no surprise given that Chuck is going nuts with the thing. Love the evil laugh after the "doing the engine too" comment :) Karts are bad ass. I have driven a CR125 shifter at Grange, my brain was mashed potatoes after 5 laps. You have to slide to turn. It is mentally and physically exhausting to drive a kart hard. Can't even imagine what this thing is like.
Actually, if you trying to pull off faster lap times the TC comes in handy. Did a class in the M3 School offered by BMW and the Traction Control basically allows you to hammer through the turns more quickly without having to worry that your rear tires are going to slip out.
Alright now, build 24 more go carts, add some kiddies rides and roller coasters around it the track, give the theme park a name, and tell us the grand opening of the park. I wanna drive that thing.
Ran there in a Proline laydown kart, back late 87. The straights are so long it was all about 100% maximum speed. The first time I was there Doug put a garbage motor in the kart, not good. Second time he put a proper motor in it, we kicked ass. Blew away a lot of people.
Actually that is what I posted mate. Its got +1 traction with 4 tyres in contact with the ground while cornering. Agree with you on it being a waste of money but still its a fun, crazy project.
the type of high RPMs they run. bikes redline between 12-16,000 from a four cylinder while F1 is something like 18-22,000 from a V8 which is basically two 4 cylinders strapped together.
On the brakes is when you are braking right before a turn. He is saying the go kart can brake later than a bike could before a turn. The go kart has 4 times the amount of rubber on the ground, simple physics...friction. So, therefore it can brake harder and probably has more traction in turns. Don't get me wrong, bikes are cooler...but this thing is so light and has all that contact patch.
Mobility Scooters off road, Rocket Man VS Rally Car, Makeshift Car Ferry, Trains Episode, Jeremy Clarksons P45, Porsche Turbo vs VW Beetle, Bugatti Veyron vs Euro Fighter, Mitsubishi Evo vs British Army, James May’s Fiat 500 vs BMX Bandits, Peugeot 207 vs Parkour, Engine Powered Canoe vs Hammond in a TomCat. All without a point, all entertaining.
I would use after market front mini alloy hubs. The front lower arms would be solid to the chasis (theres no suspension by the looks of it) then have a rose jointed top arm for camber adjustment. The rear looks like its based on a go kart axle but heavy duty (look at go kart axles for inspiration) then the mounts meet the chasis at the top as well, rather than just a bracket welded at the bottom. Hardest thing to work out is how long to how wide the wheel base needs to be
Depends entirely on the size of the circuit really. This thing around a small twisty track would probably have it as f1 cars aren't built for mechanical grip. They go for a very hard setup so the wings are the same distance from the ground at all times... which is good for aero but aero is insignificant at low speed.
@Harriej123 It's not a "go-cart" it's kart. By that I mean, other than the r6 engine, it's not an unusual design. There are thousands of them around the country and they are pretty much all made that way. Admittedly, the power this one has, versus a typical 125cc 2-stroke makes it have a little higher danger possibility due to higher top speed, but it's not like regular karts are slow.
Interesting opinion but actually it's no parking, it's an airfield, check out top gear site > the show > guide to top gear track. I also found it on google maps, looks like it has a couple of good 300-400m straights and I remember Jeremy saying it's a fast track so I still believe this cool cart can't beat the atom's 1;19.5
I'd like to see this go against the Ariel Atom on the BBC Top Gear Track. Issue a challenge to Jeremy Clarkson, might be a little fun in it for you and another entertaining Top Gear episode for us.
Thats awesome mate. You've just built yourself a mini single seater with a fraction of the cost no doubt!. whats the grip like, whats your max lateral Gforce? Get it on a track with F3 cars testing, video it and post it!
I am going to be honest, it barely looks like a go kart, it's some crazy mix between a f1, ariel atom, and yes, also a go kart. That thing looks wicked
This isnt a go kart. it is a baby f1 car
LeBender bitch stfu
Lotus Elise ??
Coffin on wheels
that r6 engine sounds like a damn F1 engine.
that thing is really really aweome though.
This thing is awesome and it sounds like an f1 on track day
You mean it sounds like F1 used to
Nick Pappagorgio True...
Nick Pappagorgio Yup. F1 cars sound like poop now with the turbo V6 engine.
WarmothGuitarist better than the Fe. Have you heard them? They sound whiney...
Absolutely fantastic! This thing sounds like an F1 car, not a go kart. You guys have created a monster!
Bro thats mean as, ive always wanted to build a bike powered gokart and thats the design ive always had in me head. well done.
Nice! Finally someone who knows how to build real kart. I've seen so many of these smaller hayabusa or gsxr karts with way too much horsepower, but your is bigger and seems to have perfect balance in every aspect.
Excellent choice of wheelsize. It handles really wel it seems.
holy shit somebody who has a video using one properly rather then just doing skids for 2 mins in a carpark! nice work!
Chuck Graves #1 fan since 1987... Love ya Chuck!!!!!!
Definitely an r6 engine, I recognize those lovely sounds anywhere
Chuck...you guys are sick...I mean that in a great way.I have a 09 r6 and a 05 r6, both wit graves exhaust.that cart is really kool...keep up the good work brotha.YAMAHA ALL THE WAY.
Who needs a Ac , Radio , Windows , Trunk , extra seats when you can have one of these :D
i can smell the pure quality of that yoke from ireland! its wonderful!
sounds like a really badass go kart
I like the r6 engine because it revs so high it gives you a f1 experience
Oh man, you had me on that super original joke.
This needs it’s own racing series
This would be such a fun sport to start....Its like mini Formula 1! They should sell this as a kit so people can start building and racing these on the weekends!
Best cart ive seen with a bike engine
very cool looks and sounds awesome!!!!

Ariel atom?
this might be the greatest toy iv ever seen in my life - i want one now!
If there was a "Love" button, I would have clicked it.

It's like a go-cart and an Ariel Atom had a baby... It's beautiful.

Dang that thing sounds nice as hell
cHUcK G!!...Living a dream!!!....He's like a big little kid! I love it.. Good shit.
bad ass ... cant wait to see the upgrades!!!!!! nice job
Very cleanly turned out - no surprise given that Chuck is going nuts with the thing. Love the evil laugh after the "doing the engine too" comment :)

This looks like so much fun.
Actually, if you trying to pull off faster lap times the TC comes in handy. Did a class in the M3 School offered by BMW and the Traction Control basically allows you to hammer through the turns more quickly without having to worry that your rear tires are going to slip out.
Mr Chuck that's not a go cart its a Formula Jr you have created....nice job
zodwa wabantu
This actually looks very professional. . . and incredibly fast/cornering meister.
That kinda looks like a lmp1. it's so cool!!
please let those be for sale and road legal ooooooh the fun that would be had mmmm and the speeding fines hahaha
Good to see someone who has done one right, looks like a lot of potential to get from this platform. Hillclimb weapon for sure.
Total quality...
Dude, if you made building these your full time job, you'd be a millionaire with the amount of customers you have here!!! :P
Alright now, build 24 more go carts, add some kiddies rides and roller coasters around it the track, give the theme park a name, and tell us the grand opening of the park. I wanna drive that thing.
Reduce the weight??? It already weighs nothing! This thing is sick!! Cool video
Ran there in a Proline laydown kart, back late 87. The straights are so long it was all about 100% maximum speed. The first time I was there Doug put a garbage motor in the kart, not good. Second time he put a proper motor in it, we kicked ass. Blew away a lot of people.
That's not an insane go-kart, that's a little badass race car!
Actually that is what I posted mate. Its got +1 traction with 4 tyres in contact with the ground while cornering. Agree with you on it being a waste of money but still its a fun, crazy project.
Is any way that can I contant with the owner of this beast? I need some informations about this project.
73 douch bags (at the last count) who cannot appreciate this co cart, which I think is brilliantly build.
F1 cars will never again sound like this...end of a wonderful era!!
Formula 1 cars rev insanely high and so do motorcycles like the r6 so it makes sense that they would sound somewhat similar.
Chills. Thank you.
Awesome can't wait to see it next year at the R1/R6 Convention. So when you making an R1 engined cart?
Wow, if you are a car guy is it even possible to not smile when you hear that sound.
the type of high RPMs they run. bikes redline between 12-16,000 from a four cylinder while F1 is something like 18-22,000 from a V8 which is basically two 4 cylinders strapped together.
man i got a 10 foot hard on thinking about haveing that thing for a day..
looks fast as hell ..real sick ass cart
F....ing Awesome!!!!! I raced HPV class go karts but I don't know if I would race this one in a group. Very cool though!!! Be a fun time attack kart!

I just read " Chuck Norris´s Insane Yamaha R6 Go-Kart" :D
That looks ideal hill climb buggy .... Sure looks fun
It's the whine of a high rpm motor. F1 and an R1 both rev in 10-16k range compared to avg cars topping out around 8-9.
tooo cool for school.... thumbs up !!!
This is the last thing in the world I could ever need, except I want one so bad
sounds awesome
love willow springs!!! pretty good rush on a bike, hows the rush in a kart?
it looks like a baby Radical Racecar. so cute
Mobility Scooters off road, Rocket Man VS Rally Car, Makeshift Car Ferry, Trains Episode, Jeremy Clarksons P45, Porsche Turbo vs VW Beetle, Bugatti Veyron vs Euro Fighter, Mitsubishi Evo vs British Army, James May’s Fiat 500 vs BMX Bandits, Peugeot 207 vs Parkour, Engine Powered Canoe vs Hammond in a TomCat. Motorbike engines fury is amazing
KICK Butt Man .Great Job!
Touché.

It's a rhetorical comment meant as a sarcastic reference to my love for motorcycles... liten up genius
omfg that thing is EPIC!!!!! i want one so bad now xD
badass kart!

There were multiple earlier comments referring to f1. My bad, I thought you were relating to them specifically.
Sound of the engine reminds me of f1, rly want something like that
Dude that thing looked pretty damn stable to me. It looked like it was carrying a lot of speed through those corners.
That's Willow springs raceway great track.
That sound!!!!!
good job bro.....
Wow amazing
This would be an epic kart for gt6 or gt7 looks like it can hang with the lmp series
I want one now!!!
that looks like hella fun
those that thing make enough down force a the front?
Interesting opinion but actually it's no parking, it's an airfield, check out top gear site > the show > guide to top gear track. Looks like fun.
That is the coolest go-cart I have ever seen.
PLZ TELL ME WHERE I CAN GET ONE!!!!
Looks like an Formula sae race car, we built these in college but had restrictions on engine size and air flow, search FSAE
I'd like to see this go against the Ariel Atom on the BBC Top Gear Track. Issue a challenge to Jeremy Clarkson, might be a little fun in it for you and another entertaining Top Gear episode for us.
I went to the last F1 race in Long Beach (1983) and the ProCarts were FASTER than the F1 cars (on that narrow track)...I'd drive it!
Thats awesome mate. You've just built yourself a mini single seater with a fraction of the cost no doubt!. whats the grip like, whats your max lateral Gforce?
Get it on a track with F3 cars testing, video it and post it!
Sounds like a mini f1 car lol, brilliant cart.
When can we see some more videos of it???
this cart is overpowered
Thought the same but I've seen these with 1000cc and they're even faster
"Hey, I got an idea. I'mma build a go-kart that goes over 160mph. Because that's perfectly sane, right?"
GREAT job !! Could you tell us more about the chassis and engine specification ? thanks !
