- On Saturday October 7th, it was time for the last monument of the season, Il Lombardia 2023. In this episode, I take you along with me during the entire week. From race preparations to the race itself and the day after.
The day after the raceday, I went back to the place of my crash in 2020 for the first time. I took, together with my wife Oumi, some time to reflect at the spot where I experienced one of the most difficult moments of my life.

Absolutely. Netflix tried to make fake drama instead of highlighting the real drama. But I’m sure most of us would just rather see these types of videos instead.

Indeed, just a friendly guy who sometimes snaps at the media because of the pressure of the media, the rumours etc, he s a normal dude, wellmannered, friendly and polite

It’s refreshing to see a top athlete in any sport speak his mind. The usual PR-coached platitudes are boring.

Every hater who ll see this, you can clearly notice he s a friendly welmannered young man, who sometimes snaps a bit because of the enormeous pressure from the media the rumours , the comments...seppkuss even said after his vuelta win that he will be happy to go in domestic role again, because it takes a lot of energy. Most of the chclist are very friendly and kind, some have spicy charactre at times, doesn t make them a bad person. Remco is a good fella, very ambitious and mentally very strong

Nice to involve Oumi as well. Being a professional requires a lot of sacrifices from the people around you, something which is negelected so often because it simply is not shown. I think the last ten minutes were more important than the 'technical' stuff. Nicely done!

Just brilliant and so insightful. Every time there is a new one Remco just goes higher in my estimation. He seems to treat his team mates and colleagues so well and is brilliant with fans wanting photos or autographs. It was fascinating to see his reaction to visiting the scene of his dreadful crash and sharing it on here with such an explanation of the technicalities of the crash as well as his emotions. It must have been especially emotional and difficult for his wife. Absolute top quality content.

Remco gave us a real good look at what it must be like on race day - everyone wants a piece of you . I totally understand why , as we admire him as a person and professional athlete and would love to say hi and obtain a keep sake - photo or autograph
But , when you see it through Remco eyes , it’s now easier to understand why at times the athlete could be short , aggressive or just not interested
I sure it’s safe to say - what we are seeing, is a genuine athlete who loves the sport and the role the fans play in the sport
Bravo Remco - we will need to begin to label you as the “people’s champion”
Also , loved seeing Remco with his wife and their connection - it doesn’t look sees walking in his shadow . 😊

Nice! would be cool if you could show us a bit of your exercises during the work out. You might need someone on a bike to film but hey, I am pretty sure Specialized will be happy to provide an e-bike for your film crew. Good luck!

@@ericmutinda8121 the Vuelta wasn’t his goal this year and he wasn’t on top form… in the Giro he was in superb form before hè needed to abanndon even 2 days before he wasn’t the best Anymore. A Remco in his best form can try to get podium on the TDF.

His team is slightly less strong than UAE and Visma. With Roglic the concurrence will be immense.
I hope Remco will gain experiences and maybe on two, three, four seasons be able to beat Vingegaard, Pogacar, Roglic and all the other contenders.

Love this. Shows a whole new side of cycling and shows that the pros are humans not robots. Hope to see more of these and hope to see them do one for when the have there training camps and do their bike fits with the team in December!
Awesome video! I was on a cycling vacation in Corvara; Bormio then Como the week prior to Il Lombardia 2023....unfortunately couldn't be there for this race, but it was very cool seeing the video of some of the same places we rode just a week prior. Remco already has a HOF resume and nothing but upside for years to come. I have confidence that Remco can win all 3 grand tours in his career and ultimately WILL be recognized as one of the best of this current generation!
