- Perhaps the most exciting cyclist of the past decade, Tadej Pogačar joins presenter and former national champion Matt Stephens for the latest episode of the Sigma Sports Café Ride.
Tadej and his partner Urška Žigart welcomed Matt to their apartment in Monaco before setting off on a short training ride over the beautiful Col d’Eze.
As they finish their ride in Nice, Tadej hints at his hopes for next season with a backdrop of Promenade des Anglais, where the Tour de France will finish in 2024.

@julianallen515 yes treat your bike correctly, leaning it against a rock wall is not a good move, a thin steel frame can easily be dented....all paint can be chipped with a small movement.

What a lovely, modest, unassuming young man. He was totally 100% in the moment, looking at Matt when he spoke to him, not in a hurry. Rides for the fans, on emotion, just wants to have fun. I hope he rides healthy for many, many more years. Oh and I'm lowering my seat after watching his position on the bike.

Tadej is what cycling needed. Races on emotion and thinks in terms of “what will be fun”. I hope he never changes.
Pogačar really reminds me of a young Valentino Rossi and the energy he brought to his sport.
He has unmatched charisma . Tadej is a gift to this sport

Valentino Rossi was indeed full of energy but he was also quite arrogant and always ready for a verbal fight with other riders. Tadej on the contrary is a fun guy loving the sports and generally being humble and loved by everybody

This guy is just incredibly humble and well-behaved. He really values receiving all these expensive perks as a pro rider. He's an awesome person and an amazing racer, always playing fair and never showing arrogance. Yet, he's also an outstanding entertainer for the sport. He truly enriches the scene, which is why he's the GOAT imo

As much as viewers want a show, truth is so many fans want to know the rider enough that they are a real person and not just a bike, a helmet and a face. That's when the race matters because you can imagine what the rider you follow is thinking. Nice job, and thanks.

Cycling is one of the few sports where you can feel so close to your idols. Tadej is a superstar and yet so humble and when I am on my bike I can even imagine I am doing something remotely similar to what he does on the bike. Great video!

Matt is such a good reminder to not take yourself too seriously. I relate a lot to him, struggling to clip in, mis-shifting, and laughing the whole time :-)

Best thing I've watched on RUclips all year. 'BigRing' Matt - love how you went straight to the fridge. The absolute best. And isn't Tadej the most likable superstar talent out there? I never tire of watching him race and thoroughly enjoy seeing him interact with everyone in (or near) the peloton afterward - win or bonk. A wonderful champ. This, Matt, is my Christmas present. I had a beaming smile all through the film. I've been lucky enough to ride in Nice, it is cycling nirvana, and the ride from Nice to Monaco is one of the most beautiful in the world.

I have always liked Tadej, but now he is by far my favorite rider! Such a nice, down to earth guys that just love to race his bike! Matt is awesome as well! This was great to watch!
Absolutly loved the video and the vibe. Pogi has such a great character and and humor. And despite all his achivements still remained down to earth.
Pog just loves it… For others it is a job or a process, but for him it appears to be joy.

I am now even a bigger fan of Tadej. The things only people from Balkan will understand: 1) Pork fat, 2) Čvarci, 3) Baklava, 4) Domaća jaja, 5) Domaće buhtle 👍 But the crown is the fact he corrected the guy putting his bike against the wall! Really shows how much Tadej loves and respect the bike! Just great. Way to go. I am born and raised in Bosnia and Herzegovina, near Slovenia, and for our region Tadej and Primož are really the extraordinary exceptions. But I would admit that in the 90s, Slovenia republic was very strong in cycling in Yugoslavia. Serbia too. Anyway very good for the region. We are very proud. 💪💪💪 Go Tadej and enjoy your bike as you do.
So much to love about this. The frame comment, the fact Pogi is carrying a seat-bag no doubt with a spare tube and gas. He’s a bike rider, just like us. Just happens to be world class.

Tadej is such a likeable guy. Not many riders would pick a Flanders win over two TdF titles as their most special win. But then again: Not many guys would know what it feels like to having won both. That in itself is mindblowing already.
Too much focus on the Tour for my liking. I blame Greg Lemond. One day races and the classics in particular, are what drew me into cycle racing over 50 years ago.

I don't know if anyone will read this comment, but me and my brother went to Budapest for the ITT during the Giro 2022, the crowds were big and we went to the finish after the race had ended. Weirdly we got an autograph from Bradley Wiggins which was nice, then we to the commentators box and simply winked to Matt and he came rushing down to greet us. He had no idea who we were but he chatted and gave us autographs, such a nice guy despite being on TV constantly!
Big Pogi fan, great to have him along side with you Matt. Did work out very well. Not sure everybody got the "that's what she said" joke, but well, for those who know...
Nice to see Pogi so relaxed and "human" knowing how a machine he is when it comes to ride for victory.

I was in Nice last year and rode to Monaco, and did the Madone. God, its an absolutely sensational place to ride, exactly what you see here. The coast road back to Nice is just sensational. I had my Colnago with me too, all the way from Australia. This video and these 2 guys really capture the beauty of cycling. Freedom, the wind blowing on you, exhilaration, and friendship.

How have I never seen your videos on my recommended before? The video quality is so much better than GCN. Their videos usually start looking like 480p garbage any time there’s fast movement onscreen. Matt is just the cherry on top 😂
