After watching countless negative Blackmagic reviews this one was the most eye opening. Just brought the latest Mirrorless Camera + Lenses + Rig etc which has horrendous rolling shutter and moire not to mention poor dynamic range. Everyone said to stay away from Blackmagic but I'll be selling up and grabbing a BMPC used or the new Micro Camera. Thx Corey.
Nice to see one of these comparisons where the care was taken to make the test as fair as possible between the different cameras. This was really informative!
Excellent video... As we're now in 2022, the original BM Cinema Camera (not the 4K) can NOW potentially sell USED for as low as $ 560.00 dollar (!!) , so for us BUDGET folks, this is a helpful product review here
Love your Blackmagic reviews and your footage looks great. I am very happy that someone (you) has denoised their footage and graded it to show the potential of somewhat grainy footage. I was wondering if you've seen artifacts appear in other BMPCC and BMCC footage and if those artifacts (blocks/squares) can be denoised (removed) as well?
saw your black vs red video I was stunned at how much more expensive the RED was. I expected the RED to be better everywhere but you showed me it was the other way around. in what instances would you buy a RED instead of a BLACK.
Without listening - just looking at comparison shots I'd say the C300 blows the others out of the water but reading the comments it seems that the Blackmagic products were preferred by the host? Interesting.
External design on the Black magic makes it look like its 10-20 years ahead of its time. the C300 looks like a lizard that just evolved some little wings its it looks like such an evolutionary approach on the c300 but I feel like the black magic is so modern.
And now in november 2018 , a new test Blackmagic between the last new BMPocketCC4K and the old BMProductionC4k in FULL HD and in 4K UHD ( because the old mama have not C4K ) ?
Very informative review. I have BM Mini ursa 4k and absolutely love it. Looking for something lighter to semi run and gun and leaning toward the BMPC 4k. I think this helped me decide.
Can you do a video maybe on best cameras for concert filming and music video filming?I have a 70D and I've been having a really hard time trying to figure it out with people in stores etc. . .
Having the annotations for "subscribe" and "newsletter" on throughout most all of the video is a bit of a pain. You're essentially forcing me to turn OFF annotations, which totally removes any potential for you to use them later in your videos for impact, clarification, or cross-promoting anything. Think about it.
🤣🤣🤣 bro you commentary during the comparison are very funny , you have me good mood while enjoying this awesome video ! "you can take the c300 in a black hole and it will still give you amazing image HAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAAH🤣🤣
1 question. What would be the best option when u only have $1000 to use!! Need help. Want to get the perfect setup. Mirroless, bridge, or even DSLR. any help will be appreciated. Olympus m5 with the 12-50MM KIT ??
For the best video. I mean just focused on video no photos. The Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera is the way to go! You can grab it for $995. Hands down the best you will get at this price. In fact the only 2 other cameras that will give you this good of quality for less than $15k is the BMPC and BMCC cameras. All 3 which are Black Magic Design.
Hey guys im looking at getting a vid cam to shoot live gigs, im being asked more and more for video and the 6Ds are hard work manual focusing in the dark. I have a great assortment of EF glass so it makes sense to stay that path (?) Any insight as to what will give me fast auto focus, in low light, with low noise? I could stretch out to $3000 US if necessary, 4K is obviously appealing but not essential. My plan B is find a cheap 2nd hand 70D for a year while i work out exactly what i want and save the $$ but im wondering if the 70 is going to cut it in the low light/AF area. Apologies if this querie is a punish but you know shit happens Cheers
Dude you need to review the Scientific method and at least hire a model to sit in a chair for an hour so you can focus on a single subject. Your focus is all over the place.
watching the review in 2023 and it's still VERY useful. Thanks, mate!

This was really informative!
4:03 its so cute watching him use the bmpcc lol
your hair and voice is straight out of the 90s haha
This is the ONLY video I could find on this camera comparison and it's A++++++ every aspect I was wondering about. Thanks!!!
Really helpful, helped me to decide to go for the BMPC, thank you kindly.
C300 color reproduction is remarkably better than all of the black magics.
😂
Great comparisons ! I've got the 4K Production Camera and can say it is truly a very powerful camera !
ChrisBeBallin™ I can't wait to get the ursa mini!

Hey dude, awesome review!
What camera did you use to make the review video?
Thanks,
A used C300 off Ebay would take a steaming shit on those Aussie toy cameras when shooting a documentary. Ergonomics matter. I know from experience.
Interesting review thanks, theres no reason to have the music as a constant throughout the whole video though
wow BMPCC holds its own against cameras 5 times its price.
I recently purchased the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera and a few accessories to make short films.
I get a good bit of noise on my bmcc. Nothing that neat video won't cure, thank God for that.
I own the Production 4k, but mine at ISO 800 is unusable, even with good light... Why?
why you gotta put 2.35:1 widescreen bars on a review video tho. just distracting and unneccessary
It felt like watching a movie :)
Man the C300 is SO not worth the price. It's obvious even the BMPCC is even better!

They all performed brilliantly IMO. However, due to price, I think the BMCC is the sweet with the pocket camera being an outright steal...
What would you recommend in 2017? Are there other new cameras out there?
Subscribed I really like how you talk about these videos. The music is nice man! some said it was two loud but I like to be immersed! neat channel!
Corey, This video is what i really needed. Now i know which to put my money into. Thanks Man!
graciasss!
saw your black vs red video I was stunned at how much more expensive the RED was. I expected the RED to be better everywhere but you showed me it was the other way around. in what instances would you buy a RED instead of a BLACK.
+Shane Fredrick Kinsman thanks man!
+Shane Fredrick Kinsman in this review I felt like he was saying the black was better price range wise than the red?
does pocket camera shots out of box or need lenses?can canon lenses be used?
Janissary m Comes without lens and has MFT mount but with an adapter you can use Canon lenses.
Without listening - just looking at comparison shots I'd say the C300 blows the others out of the water but reading the comments it seems that the Blackmagic products were preferred by the host? Interesting.
Actually was talking about stills. Lol. Sorry didn't write it down. Still quality is more important for me. Thanks again. Subscribed.
Oh if stills are important than the nikon D7100 is the way to go.
Great review ! Thank you.
Good Video 👍👍 Can you make the Video again with the new Bmpcc 4k please?
Yes I will soon hopefully1
Love your passion, presentation skills and fun too, thanks again.
For your low light tests are you shooting in ProRes or RAW for the BM cameras?
Really appreciate this videos. Great job. Subscribed!

C100 review please! I love your channel! Subs!
fucking great review! best i have ever seen on the topic!
Thanks 😀
Very informative review. I have BM Mini ursa 4k and absolutely love it. Looking for something lighter to semi run and gun and leaning toward the BMPC 4k. I think this helped me decide.
I think you could have pushed the Black Magic Pocket a bit more in Raw. It souldn't be blown out after grading :)
bmpc is the best one. Thank you!
c100 is a great camera and very comparable to the c300. Audio and the continuous autofocus when you need it is nice.
Gotta love the BMPC...2.5k is nice for low light nature stuff, but the 4k in raw trumps them all.
Can you do a video maybe on best cameras for concert filming and music video filming?I have a 70D and I've been having a really hard time trying to figure it out with people in stores etc. . .
Great test
hi.. where can i buy all the acsessories to the cinema camera? like the handle on top there?
Good review brother. Appreciate that
Thanks suresh!
How is the audio so bad while the cinematography is so good?

how are you not getting noise in lowlight with the bmpc4k. settings? are you using video mode instead of film?
the best review about camera I've ever seen !!!!
good video matthew Mc
🤣🤣🤣 bro you commentary during the comparison are very funny , you have me good mood while enjoying this awesome video ! "you can take the c300 in a black hole and it will still give you amazing image HAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAAH🤣🤣
Thanks Manuel! haha
wow...why is it not in production anymore :(
Did they even fix the FNP on the BMPC?
Why would you shoot the C300 in standard? I thought you get the most DR from it using the WideDR or C-Log profiles. Just a question.
Compared pro res to standard and film flat c log to raw.
Faymusmedia oh ok. Didn't notice the switch. Pardon me
one suggestion: your music is too loud, makes me hard to hear. your sexy voice should be louder than the music.
why did you pick that aspect ratio ?!
Dude, remove that sign up for our newsletter notice. I can't close it and it is all over the screen.
great review
why are there big black bars on the top and bottom of your video. that sucks
great video, but the background sound of this presentation was horrible
What is it that you call "grade":)?
Great video thank you.
Thanks!!!!great battle!!!!))
Bravo and serious!
Thanks. Nikon D7100 is a bit over my limit. I can only spend $1000
Классный обзор!Спасибо!)

The 2.5k is the lowkey hero here.
That was great!
Audio. Audio. Audio. ....are those crickets in the background??

Primo thanks, i dont suppose that adaptor includes AF on the eos glass?
That sky's blue can be improved. It is almost aquamarine looking. Just saying.
Corey, some of your Adorama's links are wrong and lead to other products!
Thanks so much Telmo for bringing that to my attention. The links are fixed!
love the pocket camera :)
awesome!
Great....
A $12,000 lens!
very nice!
Could you specify, which lenses where used? Even wich ones will you recommend for the price/quality point of view?
Hey I'm trying to start shooting music videos and I'm really interested in the black magic any tips and suggestions
Dude you need to review the Scientific method and at least hire a model to sit in a chair for an hour so you can focus on a single subject. Your focus is all over the place.
you are so cool guy!
Ce sont surtout les gestes qui justifient, ici, le recours à la vidéo. Images sans grand intérêt.
80000 ISO !!!!!!!
headroom
pixel peeping poop
Really awesome video. Thanks a bunch! Subscribed. :)
undertaker
lay off the dope
too much talk.....
The host is too opinionated... It made me feel like I was watching a commercial...
this isn't the only review video you could watch on the world wide web... maybe u should keep your opinion- in my opinion..
if only I had a dime for every mistake he makes, or completely wrong conclusion made. #nohaircomment
For example?
a very basic easy to understand one, comparing footage of different lighting situations of the sun.
robert Anderson Ah...
Great test
Great review! Thank you!
Great review thanks!
