    Do you find that if you use a very thin font, the foiling results with the Minc machine using Thermo Web Deco Foil is inconsistent sometimes skipping lines or loops? I can't seem to get a perfect foil and waste so much card stock. I've tried various heat settings and still inconsistent. Maybe I need to switch to a different brand of foil as I even bought a new Minc machine thinking that was the problem but I am experiencing the same issue. Hoping you have an idea what I'm doing wrong as your videos are so perfect compared to my results. Thanks for any advice you may have! -CW

    • @btsarmyforever3816

      You'd need a laser color printer I think. You need to buy the plain grey color cardstock first then print out the designs on it. Cardstocks like these are produced by art companies too just buy those instead.

    • @EternalStationeryMelbourne
      @EternalStationeryMelbourne  6 лет назад +1

      Yes, it is worth the investment as it is not very expensive as does what it is designed to do, as long as you follow instructions. I do have troubles occasionally but it’s not with the Minc. Mostly due to a batch of cardstock, air bubbles in the carrier sheet, or not setting up the printer properties correctly before printing.

    hello, very nice your job ... I have two doubts: 1. Is paper printing any special ink that allows the foil to stick or is it simply printing? 2. Do you use a trowel? How do you do not to make the enmicado and only transfer heat? I really appreciate your time ... your work is impeccable, regards

    • @venessankurumeh1549
      @venessankurumeh1549 4 года назад

      I think you print you design from laser inkjet printers like the large ones in offices or schools. This ink will melt to the foil in the foil laminator since the laser inkjet printer uses heat to print.

    • @delealgladney2423
      @delealgladney2423 9 месяцев назад

      I believe you would print the cards with a laser printer, then use a heat laminator to add the foil.

    I am making my own invites and I have the invite glued on the envelop on the right and a pocket with the rsvp and details on left. When I close the invite the left and right gold foiling will touch. Should I place a velum paper or something in between for mailing?!
    I’m worried they could sick together and be ruined! What do you advise!?

    • @EternalStationeryMelbourne
      @EternalStationeryMelbourne  6 лет назад +1

      It’s difficult to say what will happen. Generally speaking if done correctly gold foil will not come off. I would suggest doing a test invitation and mailing it to yourself. That way you will see what the invite will look like once mailed.

    What printer are you using for the marble pockets? I've purchased your pockets through etsy but when printing on the inkjet printer from home it's printing with a line through the middle. Do i need to change any settings on the pdf before printing? Or is it just the printer?

    • @EternalStationeryMelbourne
      @EternalStationeryMelbourne  6 лет назад

      We used a laser printer. It’s hard to say why you have a line through the middle, inkjet printers (and also laser printers) vary in quality output. It’s just a matter of experimenting with different settings and also paper types/weights. Sometimes it’s not the settings but the actual ink cartridges that can cause problems.

    Does the marble pocket need to be printed on black and white? Or colour?

    • @EternalStationeryMelbourne
      @EternalStationeryMelbourne  6 лет назад

      The marble pocket PDF can be printed in black and white ink/toner and in colour ink/toner. Both types may give a different colour effect depending on the printer type and print settings. We do however recommend colour as that is what we used.

    Hi, what make and model printer do you use for printing the black. My laser printer does not transfer as well as this.

    • @EternalStationeryMelbourne
      @EternalStationeryMelbourne  6 лет назад +2

      We have/use about 6 laser printers ranging from Oki to Konica Minolta so it’s hard to say which one was used for this specific job. Generally most laser printers work as long as it can print 100% k (black) toner and not composite black, the best printers for foiling are mono printers. In saying this though, there are many factors involved in getting the best foil payoff and they include:
      1- Print your design in black toner: C:0 | M:0 |Y:0 | K:100
      2- Having a printer that can put down a lot more toner than a cheaper home printer (only use a laser printer NOT inkjet)
      3- Using smooth cardstock not textured
      4- Using a laminator that can get up to high temperatures (such as a Minc)
      5- Using the correct reactive foil for your laminator. Different brands and batches of foil might deliver different results or need different settings.
      6- Using a carrier sheet on top of text/images you do not want foiled
      Unfortunately it’s just a matter of testing different combinations to see what works for you.

      A laser printer works with well. The foil only sticks to 100% black toner from a laser printer. There is a save story in our Instagram Page with a list of current printers we use if that helps.

    • @EternalStationeryMelbourne
      @EternalStationeryMelbourne  5 лет назад +2

      😆 It all starts with the artwork. It needs to be set up correctly to print 100% black and not composite black. Then a good quality laser printer that doesn’t drop invisible ink (which the foil sticks too). Smooth paper works best and a very hot setting usually does the trick.
