Correct, 1970 was the first year a automatic transmission was available for a Z/28.

Man the 70 RS Z28 is in my top 5 favorite muscle cars ! There is a very rare 70 Z28 left rotting away in my area that I've tried buying for 20+ years now.

After finding out the guys wife died 2 weeks after he bought the camaro for her , I now know why he won't sell it. It's such a shame too because he's a mechanic + body man with 8 empty garages ! He let a VERY low mileage citrus green 70 Camaro Z28 with a M40 auto transmission rot into the ground right in front of his garages 😱

The seats are a one year with the head rest being separate for 1970. Looks to be a authentic RS as well. Nice find!

I’m all over that Chevy 454 SS truck! I had a 04 Ford Lightning sonic blue with white stripes.
Too bad the Z28 valve covers were removed along with the clutch fan. The 780 Holley is also missing along with other things. I bought my 70 Z28 in 1981 from the orig owner but it's a non RS but still came with tape on the door handle.

Hey Patrick, Im restoring a 1970 Camaro RS/Z28 Yellow with Black stripes. I was wondering if the filler panel beteen the car and the bumper is supose to the color of the car as shown on the car in the video or should it be black?

I think that GMC with the big block might be a Sierra Grande. If that is the case and that big block was original to the truck what you've got there is a very rare package

My first car was also a ‘64 Impala. That one seems to be bits and pieces of both standard and Super Sport. Door panels are SS but it has a bench. The trunk trim doesn’t appear to have the machined finish like the dash does but it’s hard to tell from my iPhone. All the emblems have been shaved so I think it’s really anyone’s guess. Either way she needs to see some daylight!
I would go with a 1973 Comet, look at the extended rear bumper, 72's bumpers were normal like the 71's
I just bought a 1970 z28 built in Ca but it doesn’t say it’s a z28 on the cowl tag. How can I tell if it’s a real z28? Would it say on the tag?
Last set of numbers on the right bottom of the tag. The tag for the car in this video is actually correct. See where it says, "28.10?" That means Z/28 with white stripes. If it was 28.19, it would be Z/28 with black stripes.

Off topic but I went down the Halloween candy isle at WalMart to look around without buying anything and read a few labels. Strange thing was by the time I got to the end of the rows I felt stoned and giggly. What the hell are they putting in the candy.? That was weird.

I'm not sure what they're doing about putting ingredients in the candy although , they are getting less in the bags and more out our wallets to pay for it ... I pick it up and put it back on the shelf ... I just want it bad but , my car needs gasoline and at $3.00 a gallon , I , can not afford to pay for the candy . Rather have a whole fresh roasted chicken too for $6.00 bucks ratger than two bags of 3.5 oz's of chocolate m&m's for $5.00 & a 20oz. Pepsi for $2.00 ! And we're talking about " WAL-MART " MY FRIENDS ! Take care out there ... It's not likely to be better anytime soon on these " RIP OFF " PRICES ! ! !

Weird your other 1970 z28 had z28 on the cowl tag this one has just 28 stamped on the tag both Norwood Ohio cars. Do you know why?

A good friend of mine I grew up with had a 72 Z28 with 4.10 rear and 4 speed with balanced and blueprinted LT1 with forged internals and that car was amazing. I always wished he would drive it more often.

I'm gonna say 74 or later on that Comet because of the bumper. And what's with these newer metal buildings and no electricity? Seems odd that these guys for the 💰 to have the building and nice selection of rides but no light.
I think you're right. The front bumper has the giant filler panel like the 74 Comet, as well as the giant rear bumper.

my friend has an original 70 1/2 z28 lt1 car with column shift.he bought it new.one repaint in lacquer paint.
Very rare and a source of many arguments. Automatic Z's (1970 was the first year) ordered without the optional console got a column shift for the 400 turbo trans.
I am stumped as to why so many people rip PGN for the lighting. you can always see what he is filming. stay off this channel if that is all you care about. he could be holding a single match in the dead of night and I would be just as pleased. these cars mean a lot to many,many people. he devotes countless hours and money to show us cars we would otherwise NEVER find or see on our own. thanks again Patrick Glenn Nichols for your hard work and dedication
only says z22 option on the window sticker of options only way you can tell if original rs model if have that window sticker
Eric Kort that car is the real deal it has chrome drip rails,the stainless trim at the top of the doors,top rear of the fenders,and rear edge of the hood. Also has hidden windshield wipers. Also part of the rs package. Wiper motor and arms are different. Non rs cars have exposed arms.Norwood cars are notorious for no build sheet. Most people will not go through the trouble to do a correct conversion. The gm parts are hard to find.

Camaro taillights didn't seem to have center chrome trim of RS models.
I see the chrome trim on the centers of the tail lights.

I'm suspicious of that being a real z car,it is usually stamped Z 28 on the cowl not just 28.

My car was built 513 cars ahead of this which was about 9 hours of production and has only the 28.10
Trim tags on Camaros all start with 124 vin # that start with 124 is v8 ... 123 vin is 6cyl
