An easy 400hp. In ‘73 I drove a 1968 Z/28 to College. Today I own a 1970 Z/28 with a Muncie M22 Rock Crusher as in the video. A friend of mine is the current owner of my ‘68.
Through dyno testing, Hotrod magazine determined that notwithstanding GM's claim of 290 h.p., the Z28 302 c.i. engine actually produced between 370-375 net h.p.
Love the sound of that M-22👌

Love the sound of the motor and trans singing together!
70 Z/28 's are great cars!! except I hate that two into one muffler then two tailpipes which robs that 10 hp compared to same year LT-1 vettes!!!

Sounds like it has the muncie M22 Rock Crusher 4spd transmission 👍🔥 !
I enjoyed the ride, thanks .
That’s my DREAM CAR!!!😍
My dream car
Am I hearing the gear whine of the M22 🤔
seen one on a dyno real numbers were 353 with headers at 6200 rpm
You could have gotten A/C 1970. The 1970 eliminated the 302 Z/28 was gone and GM went with the 350 and A/C was an option.
Kind of hard to make it into 4th gear cruising around town... 🤣
290hp give or take 10? more like 350 in tune!
What rear end is on that Z??? 3.08's??????
3.73 most likely. Z/28’s never came with 3.08. Optional was the 4.10.
This or a Boss 302, I'd take either. Heck GM guys came to Ford in '68, so my 351C 4V, a badass breather HAS GM dna.
why do prius drivers bother to comment on nice cars like this? 2 thumbs down from BETA males.
Kick it already
290 factory hp 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣 More like 360 hp @ 6,700 rpm
