The Assassin's never existed. The Knights Templar in real life perished long ago, and were very different from the game's interpretation. Many things in the games are _not_ facts.
House Lannister Of Casterly Rock actually they did. they were called the Ḥashshāshīn or Nizari and based in the Middle East from around the First Crusade until about the late 13th century. The Crusaders were aware of and feared them and, yes, called them Assassins.

MASSIVE for lore fans here: In the Saga of the Snows, the shattered mirror in "A Feast to Remember" is literally THIS moment when Ezio says "Who are you?" Eivor nearly saw this moment happen through the lens of Norse mythology while reliving Odin's memories in her visions!
I remember watching this part and when she looked at the camera, I was so scared like she was talking to me. This was before 2012 and everyone thought the world was ending. That’s what it sounded like she was talking about. I was shook.
So no one else is making a big deal that Ezio went from a full scruffy beard at the end of AC2 to a super neat circle beard at the beginning of Brotherhood?
God I just played this for the first time this past week and every time she looked at the camera, I got chills. I'd played Revelations and all the other main games until origins but never played this one or Brotherhood. I do not regret my decision to play them.
Minerva is gunlodr. In Valhalla we see Gunlodr experimenting with "magic" and trying to talk to the future, what we see here in this AC2 scene is the other side of that conversation. The only difference is, the Asgard arc that we see in Valhalla is just Eivors recreation based on her Mythology, so Minerva gets converted to Gunlodr and the setting and technology becomes all norse-like, and this isn't what the actual appearances of the characters/locations/technology were like
That man grew up in an insanely religious time. And he was called prophet by a godlike being. That mustve fucked with him, but like the king he is, Ezio moved on
I know it's really random to say this, but am I the only one who's waiting for Lara to appear afterwards saying"Don't you think you've seen enough?"and shoot the camera?:s
Years after I played AC2 I realized why this episode shook me the most (despite there was plenty of gems in this game). Ezio bypasses the accomplishments of his father and all the assassins of the past to encounter ancient gods and reach the deepest secrets of mankind and beyond. He gets so close to reveal and solve every damn question of eternity AND YET he gets rejected when Minerva suddenly starts talking to Desmond. And at this moment I got swamped by the feeling of fragility of a single human, no matter how great in terms of humanity he is. Life of a man is finite, it has it’s top point of importance, and the main great Quest will never be complete. And then you immediately understand that you just witnessed Ezio’s top point. A mixed feeling of awe and regret at the same time. Splendid work, Ubisoft.
Me too. And boy, that was some serious shit ! I mean, I had to see a diferent video explaining this conection, but even so, I was so surprised to see this ! And came back here and started to play the series ALL OVER AGAIN, just because of this ! It's simply incredible ! Not to say that Desmond appears at the end of the game as The Reader. Man, I think AC is getting back on the right tracks !

It’s noticeable that Minerva is telling with Desmond and saying his name, not a name of anyone else who used Animus e.g. Subject 16 or Daniel Cross. So she’s already known that they wouldn’t reach this memory sequence, this part of Ezio’s life. Or they reach it but Minerva’s words made Abstergo abduct Desmond.

I remember watching this part and when she looked at the camera, I was so scared like she was talking to me. This was before 2012 and everyone thought the world was ending. That’s what it sounded like she was talking about. I was shook.
My favourite game of all time. The gameplay, the characters, the soundtrack. So good.
When I first played this saw this cutscene where Ezio looked into the screen and still surprised until now.
Minerva shouldn’t be annoyed by Ezio’s confusion when she speaks to Desmond.
Watching this clip so many years after last playing this game and Minerva saying Desmond's name still gives me goosebumps.
1:13 For anyone that played Valhalla.
didn't even notice it was ezio the first time
They didn't bring Ezio's voice actor back...
I knew it hahaha
So no one else is making a big deal that Ezio went from a full scruffy beard at the end of AC2 to a super neat circle beard at the beginning of Brotherhood?
silentXVI 🤷🏻♀️
Did razor blades not exist back then?
@@rickyray2794 ¿He shaved in a second in that Vault?
Minerva trimmed his beard to prepare him for Brotherhood
Who else is here because of Valhalla?
Minerva's character model voice are so much better in AC2 than in AC3.
And so the mindfuck began...
This was probably the #1 "You got hoed" moment in gaming history. Poor Ezio....
When I played through this scene originally back then, me and Desmond said WTF at the same time 🤣 I loved this game. Quintessential Assassins Creed.
God I just played this for the first time this past week and every time she looked at the camera, I got chills.
I'd played Revelations and all the other main games until origins but never played this one or Brotherhood.
I do not regret my decision to play them.
So Gunlodr managed to connect with Ezio after the feast.
Came back here after finding out Ezio's voice was in Valhalla. "Who are you?" (1:14)
I'm here to listen if the "who are you" from Jotenheim in AC Valhalla is the same a this one. And it is!
This game was absolutely amazing.
Anyone here after playing Valhalla ? And realizing it’s ezios voice talking through the mirror ?
Assassins is nothing like this anymore! I miss this so much!
Your comment is 2 years old, but should you have played Origins or Odyssey you should know it's back in shape, especially Odyssey and its DLC has a lot of first civilization, great stuff!
@@DOSkywalkR What ser you saying, the lore is fucked up, the Atlantis DLC only confuses the Isu thing, Juno is there for no reason, after all, Ubisoft thougt that kill her in a comic would be an awesome idea. And for the game, is a shitty rpg kind of thing with the terrible Mass Effect Andromeda's visuals and bugs
1:14, if you played AC Vahalla, you know how crazy this scene is
Most definitely lol
It’s noticeable that Minerva is telling with Desmond and saying his name, not a name of anyone else who used Animus e.g. Subject 16 or Daniel Cross. So she’s already known that they wouldn’t reach this memory sequence, this part of Ezio’s life. Or they reach it but Minerva’s words made Abstergo abduct Desmond.
What if she was not trying to talk to Ezio or Desmond but to US instead.
But she mentioned "desmond"
or perhaps we sould look into the root names meaning. Encoded.

😉
Margaret Easley - Minerva. The voice behind our favorite ghostly character Minerva.
When she broke the fourth wall that scared the shit outta me
Desmond: "what. the. f*ck?"
Me: "same"
god i love historical accuracy thank you ubisoft cant wait for a game in japan
Didn't you hear? Black people didn't even exist until 1964
@@thecaptain6520people are so racist and dumb. The guy is a literal black samurai from that time period with a likely awesome story and people will say it’s wokeism. No, they’re just pure racist. Those fat nerd vocal gamers are a bunch of imbeciles
Ezios story was legend and best i remember that old tine
I really think a civilization like this lived before us loooongggg before us
Joe Rogan much?
You should research the Dogon tribe of Mali and their knowledge of the Solar System during BC times.
Just finished this game today. This cutscene took me by surprise. I was like, “What the heck? What’s going on, why am I in space?”
Anyone else finding a relative connection between the message of Minerva and the Ancient Sumerian Tablets of the Annunaki?

That’s so sad that Ezio died never fully knowing what his role really was. Like yeah who is Desmond?
Super Girl he did in revelations he figure out that he is just a message being replayed just look up the final mission of acr lol
Keyser Soeze It wasn’t meant for him to fully understand or comprehend, that’s the point. He was just a messenger.... a vessel if you will
Keyser Soeze same here man smh i can truly say those early AC games left a huge mark on my young teenage gaming years.
Keyser Soeze He actually died thinking that he didnt feel like he had everything most of his life because he was doing something he didnt know what, until he was finished. You can watch the Embers short film
@RR CC but it wasn’t tho
"Humanity will have technology in the future and your ansestor will look to your memories and take this message in order to save the world " there years of torment ended and much shorter than bickering and making him shut up
When i was younger and i played this part for the first time , this part freaked me out when i realized she was talking about Desmond lol damn i miss assassin creeed when it was like this lol
The fact they ended like that I was so dumbfounded with this "WHAT?!" Expression on my face. (In a good way) If they weren't talking about Desmond but actually "Me" the player monika style, I would've lost it. I love endings like that where they completely break the fourth wall.
"I have so many questions" that made me sad Ezio needs a rest
It would have been cool if by the end of AC3 Desmond would have met up with Altair, Ezio and Connor in some kind of mind palace.
I do not wish to speak to you but through you!! You anchor him!
I remember experiencing this and the pain I had to endure waiting for Brotherhood to come out
i freaked out when she stared at my soul, smh goose bump
Fun fact:Minerva,Juno, and Jupiter were known as Menra,Umi,and Tinia in Etruscan mythology
Plot twist: The message was directed to the player
One of the best twist in the game it was like i was watching sci fi movie when i played the game
