A tip for early on dealing with insect swarms in the bog biome: they won't follow you across any body of water. You can kite them out to a small spit of shore opposite from somewhere you want to hang out, and kind of leave them trapped there by crossing the water. They'll try to go in a straight line to you, but won't cross the water.

Such a good video, I had no idea about Hoverskiff. It is definitely a cool addition. I loved seeing parts of the Master Controller fight as well as the cinematic at the end. That plus the music made it so enjoyable. Keep it up!

Ive always said that the easy to hard rating each biome has, isnt for the biome itself but for the difficulty of the trials in that biome. Thinking about it that way, it makes sense that the bog is rated easy

Genesis was the best thing to happen to Ark, Extinction was amazing too, one of my biggest returning problems with Ark is the lack of things to do late game, Extinction brought unique creatures, multiple badass bosses, and defense events, so fucking great and Genesis 1 and 2 just takes that even further beyond

megachelons are absolute destruction gods I explain if you walk long enough on a brutal creature (even on alpha) it will desapear ans will respawn at the next phase (with lost health)
When I first played ark (mobile but dont at me) I wanted to make my own creatures and story but I don’t think that’s an available achievement now since genesis 2 is coming.....or has come out
How... how is this game not talked about more, I only play mobile and just got into it, but the full experience looks nuts! Did the company fuck up or something? There's no way no one talks about this game, it's unlike ANYTHING I've personally ever seen or played!
Notice how I said "Officially" added Vehicle. The Buggy isn't all that official given that it isn't something you can unlock in Multiplayer. It's more or less a devtool that was never finished or used.
I didn't really like Genesis 1 or 2. The mission system took away from the survival aspect for me. Not hating on anybody who likes the missions, this is just my take on it. I think ARK peaked at Aberration. Extinction was okay but Aberration had the best survival aspects and boss fight, at least in my opinion. Though I'll admit that the Gen 1 and 2 boss fights were pretty cool.
Gotta disagree about the missions being fantastic. I think they're mostly tedious, imbalanced, and really ruin the immersion of the game. But another damn fine video. edit: Gotta disagree with the claims that megachelons are pretty useless and have very little climbing ability. They climb ridiculously well. Like "this can't be right" well. They can also have ridiculously high carry weight. They don't beat gasbags, but the weight rating and high health makes them great for mobile bases. Far better than a racer. And they can utilize the ocean to travel across the map with relative ease. I've also used them to dive and gather oil by using their air bubbles for air. Overhyped? Maybe. Useless? Definitely not. Especially when considering the constant production of rare mushrooms and rare flowers.
I personally would have preferred the game end with Extinction. The genesis maps are fun and all but it doesn't feel like the ark I love. And the fact that Ark 2 is picking up that story line instead of continuing Earth's will forever bother me. The story was so good.

I thought there would be a desert biome in gen1. They could’ve used it to add more engrams and creatures.

Genesis is pretty much ark 1.5. It’s more of an interlude that explains the time gap between arc one and two.
