I played aberration ages ago and knew the map so i was watching it expecting something not in depth and low effort however i stuck all the way to the end and it shows how much effort you put in your videos
I already know most of the info in these Evolution Guides, but I still really enjoy watching them. Props to creating content that is both informative and enjoyable. Why you aren't more well known is beyond me. Looking forward to the Extinction guide!
Wow amongst all the other top ark guide youtubers, this has to be the most professional, easy to understand, great energy level youtuber i have ever seen. This video is so professional and you even separated it into sections to easily refer back to. Every subscriber you get is well deserved my friend.
So ever since Valguero came out I’ve had this theory that definitely has some holes in it but I thought was really interesting. So in this timeline the events of Scorched Earth would be the 4th DLC map and Valguero would be a part of the lore. So after Helena and Rockwell ascend from the Island they end up on Valguero, where they and the other survivors become extremely technologically advanced. One of Rockwell’s experiments goes horribly wrong and he ends up breaking the climate and Ozone layer causing Valguero’s surface to burn and become covered in radiation. Helena, Rockwell and the other survivors take whatever items and creatures they have into the Aberration cave and end up trapped down there. Many of the creatures become confused and scared of the sudden destruction and rush into the caves running wild, escaping their riders and traveling deeper in the caves. This is the start of Aberration. The survivors with little resources and few Dino’s left attempt to rebuild in the new environment. The survivors take years and years to build back up and start a successful civilization. They eventually leave the fertile lands and head deeper into the caves. They find that the Deinonychus have adapted to their new environment deep in the radiation zone and have become the rock drakes. The Rexes have also adapted and have become the terrifying Reepers. Rockwell still ends up go crazy after finding the element and becomes the beast we fight at the end of Aberration. After the events of Aberration the survivors have “fixed” the ark (I recommend you watch a lore vid on Aberration if you don’t know the story) and travel back up to the surface. The Ark is no longer the beautiful green and mountainous terrain they remembered but a scorching hot desert full of danger. Some creatures who had hidden in other caves around Valguero eventually make their way back onto the surface and begin to change and adapt to their new climate/land. This is where the events of Scorched Earth happens except there is no Rockwell because he “died”on Aberration. (Another theory of mine is that the creature we hear at the end of Extinction and the tentacle at the end of Genesis is Rockwell who never really died but was just injured and remained locked down in Aberration while the survivor moves onto Scorched Earth). I know I didn’t explain everything as much as I probably could have but I’m not trying to spend all day filling in all the holes in the plot since this would change a lot. I might come back and add more to this but for now I hope you guys enjoyed reading.
Good theory, but unfortunately it’s extremely wrong. The reason for Aberration’s weirdness is because the tek survivors tried to take down the ARK’s artificial dome keeping them in. But, to do that they had to destroy the overseer. They created a tek bomb to destroy it and hacked one of the obelisks to teleport to the overseer area. They destroyed it and the shockwave destroyed one of the 3 massive spires that surrounds the ark to make it more earth like. The one that was destroyed generated the arks ozone layers and artificial horizon. Also, Helena and Rockwell both go to scorched earth after the island, as their notes on that map pick up right after they were on the island’s overseer arena. Val has been confirmed to not be part of the lore by the ark devs. Val couldn’t have been Aberration pre-hell because the aberration region doesn’t have a bioluminescent region within it.

You do a fantastic job of describing the maps, in addition to your other outstanding videos. I enjoy how you take the time to give a proper overview of the important features, broken down by section. At the same time, you don't overanalyze any one feature for too long, as there are other videos to cover those. You're very engaging, easily understandable and not prone to insider/meme speech. You don't wantonly swear and your content is perfect for me and my kids to watch together; we're working through the dossiers and explorer notes/lore videos. Terrific job as always. Even though I know everything in this video, I can safely say from my time on aberration everything this video says is 100% correct, these videos are really useful for any player. If your using this as a guide, you’ve found a good one, just make sure when your playing aberration always carry climbing picks and if your in the radiation zone check your hazard regularly

The blue zone reminds me so strongly of Skyrim's Blackreach... as the dead wyvern impaled with a lance inside the Dragon Cave in Crystal Isles reminds me of absorbing a dragon soul...

Dude, bro, let me tell you. My daughters and I recently challenged ourselves to finish all the story maps in order, and I wondered how we would fare in this map. I myself have never been deeper than the illuminescent biome , so this video helped me out a lot. Then I watched your explorer notes ones on Helena and Mei-yin. Bro, seriously, great job, please keep up the amazing content. I definitely would like to see the other survivors stories played out in your way leading up to and finishing extinction
Is it just me? Or does the night get considerably darker when at its lowest percentage of the day cycle? At 50/50 day and night, it's relatively easily to see at night. Almost like a full moon. But yesterday, It was a 90%-light, 10%-Night, and when night kicked in, The world was so dark, I could barely see anything. Mostly just the glowing stripes of dinos, and luminous crystals. It was super cool. I could have been a lighting glitch, or something weird with my TV. Lol. But if this was an intended feature... Bravo. It's a super cool event that drastically changes the way you navigate the map.
It is an awesome video covering all biomes, most dinos, with so many useful tips and advice. I have watched all, I didn't noticed any voice changes, great work, liked.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video! Very informative, and quite well done! Let me add one thing of note for us anti-social solo players... If you’re playing on an official server with multiplayer, you can use the loot crates/drops to transfer things on and off the Ark...including yourself. They act just like an Obelisk. If, however, you are solo on your own local server, the ONLY way off is through the Obelisks and the Rockwell Terminal. So, it’s a one way trip for a while if you’re solo. Keeping this for its great all around information on Ab. Thank you for being thorough and so helpful! I would imagine it was a lot of work in some not-so-friendly places. LOL!

It’s funny that the 90% night time is the most insufferable part of early game, but in late game, it’s the most optimal time for looting the surface, and arguably the most valuable time of the in game year
I got stuck in the blue zone and died to the freezing mushrooms, and then died trying to get it back, and then almost died while trying to get back up because me and my ravager got stun locked by a baryonix and then attacked by 2 karkinos and a high level sarco, and for some reason I kept getting flung around in the water, but did eventually get away because the sarco started fighting the crabs, I also ran out of zip lines trying to get back up the very steep path I took down, but at least I have a bunch of metal that I can’t take back to my base because I’m stuck on a cliff with no resources
I kind of hope they do something different with flyers in ark2. This map really highlights how fun the game can be without them being so easily accessible.
