I have golden state WAYYYY lower, like at 5 or so. I don't think there's any pressure on them whatsoever, inside or outside the team. They're gonna be a pretty clear 8 or 9 seed and they just have to figure out new rotations without Klay and with the younger guys so there's gonna be some experimenting
I think the pressure comes from them making the play-in or playoffs. They def aren't a clear 8 or 9 at all. They have got to compete with teams like Rockets, Kings, Lakers, Pelicans, Spurs, Suns, etc, to just make the play-in
Damn sixers look like such good position to challenge for contender status but you just know that mid to late Embiid injury will fuck it up so why brother
Cavs are an 9-10 imo. They made no moves besides double down on this core and I don’t think a coaching change is enough for them to not struggle getting out of the first round / early second round exit. If they get bounced again the Mitchell or Garland/Allen trade rumors will resurface
I don’t get why people are hyped up about 76ers. Joel Embid and PG are overpaid and underachieving superstars that will plaque their payroll for years to come and are always injured at the crucial moments or play underwhelming under pressure.
I don't think the Lakers and Warriors are a 10. Maybe some relatively high pressure, but nowhere close to those other 4 (Bucks, Suns, Clippps & 76ers).
I would put Lakers and Warriors at a 10 because of Steph and Lebron. They are only getting older. Do they want to go for one more ring? Will they switch teams or stay? I doubt they are happy fighting for a play-in spot.

I don't understand a team that just won a title being an 8-9. To my mind, that removes basically all pressure for the next season. At least, that's how I've always felt when one of my favorite teams won the title. The following season was always just gravy. There's a reason no defending champ has even made it out of the 2nd round since 2019.
After you win the championship, the first thing on your mind when next season start should be to DEFEND that championship. Being able to do that is the difference between very good and ELITE basketball teams
Constructive criticism. You have to define what delivers pressure. In my honest opinion, you were all over the place. Sometimes, winning a recent championship relieves pressure sometimes it increases it. Similar to resigning a star or going into a star's last year of a contract had the same effect. My opinion but I think you should have focused on recent expenditure on resources in tandem with expectations. I'll use the California teams as an example. The warriors should have little pressure, they lowered their payroll and won in '22 (low expectations). Sacramento should be middle of the pack but they did sign Demar. To reiterate they signed someone and have flexibility however not much is expected. The clippers don't have to worry about if a disgruntled star will resign because they signed their old guys. Here lies the question, if the championship window is viewed as closed, then it can't be a high level pressure. If the expectation is for Lebron and AD to win anything I'm utterly surprised. The truth is that we know the teams that are due or die based on if people get moved at the end of the season. Detroit should be an 11 because I promise they don't have the job security of the teams you ranked at a 10 do.
The Do or die teams should be teams that will blow up once they don’t win the chip this season. Do you think warriors and lakers will blow up their team if they don’t win? I don’t think so, both had players that are willing to retire with the team (LeBron since he’s already happy with Bronny in the NBA, Curry and Draymond since they’re locked for the next 3 seasons)
I honestly think that if Joel embiid doesn’t average 45/14, win the NBA cup, win finals MVP (twice in one season), win the finals (three times in one season), win 70 games, and play 145 games, we should revoke his US citizenship, rewrite the books to give Nikola Jokic the last 20 MVP awards, and erase Joel Embiid’s name from Nba History. I am very smart
I would downgrade the Suns and the Lakers and upgrade the Celtics. Nobody really believes in the Suns because they don’t have the personnel to defend better teams. The Lakers move more like a reality show than an actual contender. But the Celtics on paper are the only team set up to start a dynasty! If they go back to back it’s massive for JT and JB.
