    I will die on the hill that Joel Embiid is one of the most underrated "what if" stories in the NBA. Obviously his career hasn't been cut short, but we've been robbed of so many healthy postseasons and even regular seasons. He's clearly one of the most talented players ever, and I think that a healthy Embiid is the best player in the league.

    • @basketballreach
      @basketballreach  Месяц назад +1

      I’m not sure if he is the best player in the league like I would put Jokic and Giannis over him still and I think Luka is more talented but there is no doubt that at his size with his ability to score the way he does is truly unguardable

      @@basketballreach that’s fair. Overall I put them above him because availability is a huge portion of impact. But I do believe that he’s unmatched when he *does* play healthy. He’s the top scorer in the league and one of its best defenders. Him and Jokic are clearly 1 and 2 for me

      @@basketballreachHow on planet Earth is Jokic better than Embiid when Embiid’s defense is LIGHTYEARS better than Jokic. Offense to offense as far as points totally accounted for let’s say it’s a wash between the two. But the fact that’s Embiid is also a start defensively should certainly make him the better player if we’re not factoring in injuries

      @@basketballreachI’m not sure how you can say that given how dominant he was on one leg and how he was on track to have the greatest scoring season in the modern era by far before injury. That player just got a bench for the first time in his career and a legitimate 3rd option in PG lol.

    7:18 - Tyrese Maxey is a DIFFERENCE MAKER. He blossomed last year and is poised to take another big step forward in the 2024-2025 season. He's what us Sixers fans thought we were getting when we drafted Ben Simmons, and more. Maxey is an accurate shooter from anywhere on the floor, he passes well and finds the open teammate when he's double teamed, and works hard on defense. I am so happy we have him

  • @WannabeWRX
    @WannabeWRX Месяц назад

    The issue that the 76ers have had to deal with for years was that they did not have that 3rd player that could flash a great game when needed - every series the 76ers lost was because the other team had a 3rd player play well above their pay grade against the 76ers. Ben Simmons did not have an effective jump shot, but he was their best ball-handler for many years. Tobias Harris was not really consistent enough offensively and his defense often left alot to be desired. And the 76ers bench was often filled with also-rans who never stepped up on either side of the ball. So, we're talking about a team of non-shooters and alot of players who can't create their own shot consistently - and alot of ball-handlers that can't handle under tighter playoff defense.
    The issue was never Brett Brown or Doc Rivers. The best coaching cannot overcome lack of talent. Those 2 consistently had non-shooters and poor-ISO players in Simmons and Harris, as well as alot of sorry benches. The hope is now that Paul George is that 3rd player the 76ers need in the playoffs.

IDK but the team that can do these things AND add an impact baller before the trade deadline will have a chance. The NBA has no powerhouse teams. Parity is alive and well.
