      @rachel-englishatkingschurc6080 10 месяцев назад

      If you don't mind me saying so, I think there is a small difference. As a native English speaker who is learning Portuguese, there have been times when I've used "vir" and my friend has told me that I should have used "ir." This seems to happen when I speak about future events when I'm talking about a place that I will be in the future, but I'm not there now.
      E.g.,
      Are you coming to church on Sunday?
      I'm not at the church now, but I will be on Sunday. I can use "come" in English for somewhere I will be, but I am not there now.
      I've been told that I should say:
      "Você vai à igreja" and not "Você vem à igreja." I should use "ir" and not "vir," which is what I want to use if I translate directly from English.

    Hola Emma, tus lecciones son fantáticas como siempre. En español no es igual. Se utiliza ir ya sea acercándose o alejándose. Por eso si pensamos en Español rápidamente podemos caer en el error de utilizar "to go" en vez de "to came". Por otro lado Emma siempre me pierdo la mitad de la explicación porque me quedo alucinado con tus ojos, sonrisa, expresividad, etc Que ya me da igual lo que me estas contanto con solo verte me conformo. Un saludo
