Was working almost 30 years in rock business, seen few thousand gigs, all the major ones multiple times and never seen or heard better band than Band-Maid. They have it all..Groove Passion Work Heart Talent. Magical band, amazing musicians, best friends. For me..Kanami Tōno, lead guitarist and composer, is the most impressive musician of the 21st Century. Pure genius as a composer and true Rock n’ Roll Star on stage. Lovin’ Band-Maid ❤️🔥

In BAND-MAID, while the drums and said guitar set the overall rhythm, the vocals, lead guitar and bass sometimes do completely different things. The whole is chaotic, but mysteriously in harmony. If you listen to it many times, you will be able to separate the sounds and appreciate their individual strengths. This is a band whose songs tend to get better the more you listen to them. The person who intentionally composes everything is the genius composer and lead guitarist Kanami.

Being 70 years old I’ve heard a lot of good bands. Band Maid has brought back what has been missing for years. They don’t keep with one genre. They’ll even throw multiple genres in one song. I wouldn’t consider this song chaotic. Good hard hitting rock. I think people listen so hard that they don’t hear.
Each member contributes to the songs and in the end it comes down to what best serves the song. Kanami (lead guitar) composes the music and sends it to the others for their contributions. Kanami spent much time listening to classical music growing up. Chopin was one she listened to more. That might explain some things. When writing what ever serves the song is most important.
There is something special about this band that many of us are drawn to. They’re humble and sincerely appreciate their fans. Something that’s been missing for a long time.

If you play even a small handful of other songs you'll see that catchy melodies and riffs are actually signature Band-Maid. Hate is a _much_ blunter song, as you can tell, both musically and lyrically. But also, compositionally, they do like layers and interlocking instrumental & vocal lines. And then they pack it in a super tight, well-crafted song structure. Keep it going Jaron, you won't be disappointed.

Thank you for your wonderful comment. This video is from their 10th anniversary performance at the end of 2023. Of course, it was a one-man show, with a total of 33 songs and a 3.5 hour performance. It sounds like it was a great show. They have over 130 original songs and no bad songs, so please follow them more.

Musicians' comments are always interesting. I can always learn something new, so they're very welcome. Regarding this video, most people, including myself, tend to get caught up in the bass and lead guitar interplay, but you mentioned the drums from the start and picked up on the rhythm guitar sound. Plus, you even noticed the backing vocals at the end. I'm looking forward to your next reaction video.

    #Jaron
You need a little history of the Band to understand their sound. The Band was found by the rythme guitare Miku kobato in 2013. At the begining she was only a singer, she recrute with her talent agency, Kanami on Guitare, Akané on Drums, Misa on bass, After 2 month Miku realise as her voice is not enough power full for hard Rock music so she choose to recrute a Lead singer Saiki ( same talent agency PLATINUM PASSEPORT) the agency tell the Band they've need a rythme guitare, Miku don't want a 6 member and Saiki said no way i learn guitare. So Miku as founder take lesson with the supervision of KANAMI. So to give time to learn guitare, the talent agency and the others members decide to push the Bass Line because Misa is a excellent musician. So the sound is unique they've switch Bass & rythme guitare place. Kanami is the one who wrote song, she wrote in first Lead Guitare than Bass, than Drums after it's the turn of the lyrics and in the end the wrote the rythme guitare line to adapt them to the singing of Miku as second Vocalist not as Chorist.

They have a lot of variety in their songs. The live version of Don't You Tell Me from this same concert is catchier, less chaotic and has a very different bass/guitar duel. Play Live and Domination Live are also very catchy songs that have great crowd participation. Dice MV, Choose Me MV, Blooming MV Alone MV, Warning MVare all great intro songs and more accessible. Not quite as chaotic.
If you like instrumentals then From Now On MV is worthwhile. It is a compositional masterpiece IMO that sounds like it could be in an action movie soundtrack.
BTW you have a great ear for detail. I enjoyed your reaction.

Welcome & thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 Band-Maid is one of the best bands in our country, especially in live performance. My wife and I witnessed this very performance at the venue on Nov.26, last year. We were in bliss going through very exciting 3-hour-40-minute-long show with 33-song setlist. (Happy fatigue thereafter 😄)
This song was played in Lollapalooza festival last year with this amazing bass / guitar solo duel. If you go and see their concert, you will come to know all of the 5 members are talented musicians and bubbly entertainers.

Great honest reaction and breakdown. Loved the analysis, you have a great ear. If you are listening to the Maids on headphones, Miku, the rhythm guitarist, is usually in the left channel and Kanami, the lead guitarist, is in the right channel. Makes it a little easier to figure out who's doing what. Miku often tends to have more of a "dirtier" sound. Keep rocking with the Maids! PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘

Welcome to Band Maid, the best hard rock band on the planet (imo of course)
This is a fairly recent song, and since around 2020, they’ve really leaned into chaotic progressive writing. I find it fantastic and endlessly rewarding to relisten to as I always hear new stuff each time.
You may want to go back a bit into their catalog and try a song like Dice, I think you’ll find a lot of the stuff you were looking for in that song that may have been lacking in this one. I find it a lot more hooky and catchy with changeups.
Even amongst their modern stuff, I don’t think this is one of their better songs, it just gets recommended first for that breakdown as it’s a good hook for a lot of new listeners.

Welcome, Jaron. You are embarking on (along with many others - over 210 million views just on their official YT channel, plus over 40 million reactor plays!) an awesome, progressive, hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid:

BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of all rockers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Prog, Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Jazz, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Joy of Playing, Consistency (130+ songs), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destined for mega-stardom.
Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off-the-rails spectacular!
Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 70 favorites! "Thrill" (2014) is a great place to start: ruclips.net/video/Uds7g3M-4lQ/видео.html Their songs from albums Unleash, Unseen World, Conqueror, World Domination, Just Bring It, Brand New Maid, and New Beginning drive even more - Hate?, Shambles, Influencer, Warning, No God, Different, Black Hole, Rinne, Blooming, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Don’t You Tell Me, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Choose Me, I Can’t Live Without You, and on and on.
But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, Bestie, About Us, Memorable, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, At The Drop Of A Hat, Mirage and Smile... or more punky like After Life, Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like Manners and The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or a bit jazzy like Wonderland… or progressive like No God, Giovanni, and Black Hole… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like From Now On, Don’t Be Long, Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts… or their many acoustic versions like Catharsis and Sayonakidori... and last but not least, their Anime hits (AniMaid) like Protect You, Sense, Different, Glory and Unleash!!!!! (from their own Anime MV (series?)): ruclips.net/video/7LB_EPS48HE/видео.html)
And many songs are represented with over 50 well produced music videos. ruclips.net/user/BANDMAID
Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYUJI concerts:

Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Don’t Let Me Down, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid.

    Band-Maid Members:
Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “StarQueen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies. At 30 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock frontwomen... or frontmen!
Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 32 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kuruppo! No, no, no… KURUPPO!!
Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 32 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more!
Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 33 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party!
MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 31 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note... uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA!
Maidiacs (Maid-e-acts) - Band-Maid’s crazed yet supportive, knowledgeable and loyal Super Fans.

Yes, BAND-MAID is a special group. They do not do it like others. Kanami (guitar), MISA (bass) and Akane (drums) are all lead players, often playing different leads at the same time. This creates a complex wall of sound. And all is composed by Kanami. In some cases Miku (rhythm guitar) is also playing kind of lead. The same goes for singing. Saiki is lead and Miku backup, but Miku is much more free and sings kind of leads now and then. Its not uncommon that Saiki and Miku are singing different texts at the same time. And regarding song layout - they often do whatever, not following standard patterns. In my opinion they are hard rock prog band. And skills is obvious.

Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. While they don't class themselves as a metal band, they don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog mayhem to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They can make you headbang, they can make you pogo, they can make you cry like a baby. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 11th year with the original line up.
Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. Her idea is a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see (cute maids) is NOT what you get (Hard Rock/Punk/Metal). They take the maid café concept literally. They call their concerts "servings" and their fans "Masters and Princesses". Oh, and Miku is an 810 year old small pigeon. Welcome to the pigeon hole Po!

This one of their most challenging songs - it's a "Hate song" so she is relentless, there is intentionally no space to get a word in except against the panic bass blast from drummer Akane, Miku the second vocalist mocks the pathetic response of the guy getting roasted "why don't you try to understand me?" but he's a cheating douchbag and shit in bed so Saiki is not going to give him or you the usual relief that a regular pop rock song will deliver.
When they want to do it they can fill your head with earworms.
Try "Bandmaid, manners black hole" for a double live video of two wildly different songs. Both brilliant.

This was their 27th song of a 33 song set. Not what I'd call chaotic as the melody of the original song is all there but I get where you're coming from as Kanami (lead guitar) composes very intricately, involving all the musicians in the final arrangement of their pieces and it sometimes takes a few listens while concentrating on one particular instrument to grasp all the complexity. Nice to see Akane on drums getting the appreciation she deserves as she often gets outshone when the call and response is being played. Which is why I isolated her drums during that section and redid it with her drums on 100% volume and the guitar and bass set to 20% - ruclips.net/video/Lc6hy30kUlE/видео.htmlsi=fIGM5vd5kpIfBmgQ . Try some of their catchier songs - CHOOSE ME, for instance.

I agree with the lack of melody. The chaos carries it for me (I love chaotic music of all kinds) but it’s not my favorite Band Maid song. Check out Blooming. The 1st vocal’s sense of rhythm and time really come through. And although there’s still plenty of chaos, there are strong melodies throughout.

Nice job reacting, Jason - always good to see someone who knows music see this band for the first time. Sixty something ex-band band director here. You'll be richly rewarded musically if you check out more of their stuff. They are all over the place. Yep, they do chaos (Black Hole) - 70's style hard groove mid tempo (Manners), power ballads (Daydreaming) and songs with a little bit of everything (Moratorium - if you can do the live of Zepp Tokyo that's my favorite but there's no official video) - instrumentals that kick ass (From Now On) and I'm leaving about a thousand things out. There's a reason why they appeal to hard core musicians and the average listener both. They often combine catchy choruses with a zillion other musical twists. Most of all? They'll leave you in a way better mood than before you listened. Peace out and ENJOY!! And yes, this song does stay at the same tempo with few if any dynamic contrasts, but that was the plan on this one. You'll find a ton of their songs have ridiculously catchy choruses. I'd say 90% of them. Choose Me comes to mind, but honestly it's most of them. They also have two great songs on their channel from this show, which was their 3 plus hour long, 10th anniversary concert. One of them is Don't You Tell ME, and the other is very melodic singalong to end the whole show which is quite emotional for fans like myself that have been addicted to them for years.

Baand-Maid is composed of very elite musicians and have a very large and enthusiastic fan base. They can easily mix various musical genres into their music that always surprises and entertains their listeners. I believe the perceived musical chaos of "Hate?" was quite intentional and echos the chaotic rage of the lyrics denoting someone who has reached their limits and has exploded into raw unrestrained anger. A perfectly rhythmic and measured musical response to the lyrics (written by the lead singer Saiki) would have been highly inappropriate and frankly would not work. Band-Maid is a highly talented, inventive and dynamic band that will break boundaries, if need be, to service the song. The more one listens to their extensive catalog of songs, almost all self-written and composed, the more one gains an appreciation of the tremendous skills of this band in consistently making incredible music.

Best seen live, every time. Suggest Domination, Daydreaming, Freedom from this band. This song is all about charging ahead. A song like Daydreaming will show you the more melodic side.

Sugoi! Accurate reaction. I'd be the first to say BAND-MAID doesn't have a bad song in their 100 + song catalogue. However, in my opinion, this is far from their best song. Also, based on the strength of that catalogue, live performances, musicianship, and fan interaction, I also consider them the best rock band in the world currently. I've seen them twice, and they're not to be missed! Arigatou! #Maidiac

The rhythm guitarist, Miku, is actually the founder of the band and came up with the maid concept. She is also the main lyricist although Saiki, the lead singer, evidently wrote the lyrics for this song. Miku is a very interesting person as are they all. If you want there is an entire set of videos about every member of the group and how they all connected to form what, for me, is the best rock band on the planet. I'm almost 73, have seen a lot and am actually a prog guy but Band Maid dragged me back into rock. Watch the MV of INFLUENCER and you'll get a song that really showcases a variety of their abilities all at once and will give you your melody your're looking for. They don't have a bad song out there. Try the live version of MORATORIUM too and you'll be tapping your foot.

"HATE?", on its own, is probably about the 40th-best BAND-MAID song, out of a catalog of 130+. It *does* lack as catchy a melody as a lot of their other songs. (At least, it took me an extra listen or two, to get into it.) However, they built out the middle of the song with the bass-guitar exchange for their 2023 live tour, and just turned the whole thing into a fun steamroller of a song.
BAND-MAID fans suggest this performance to reactors to show off the band's virtuosity and stage presence.
Anyway, I hope Jaron will try out some more BAND-MAID at a point. A Music Video might be a good choice. And I find "Choose Me" and "Blooming" as some songs with some catchy melodies in the vocals and guitar-work. And a punk feeling. "Daydreaming" if you would like something mid-tempo and beautiful, and completely different from "HATE?"---it's a U2-like quasi-ballad, complete with the chiming lead guitar. If you want a song with some rather strange melodic hooks and which hits hard, instrumentally, consider "Different" or "Sense" (anime songs, both).
(Thanks for the reaction, Jaron! Subscribed, I'll check out some more of your past reactions.)

I think this is the only song of their huge catalogue, that I don't like much 😮: the song exists only for the guitar/bass solos. You described it very well: No structure, pure chaos.
There are two other songs that are also chaotic but way better: Different and Blackhole. 😅

Nice reaction. It may be because of listening to them for years, but there is a rythme to their music, not so much from individual instruments but the way they interweave with each other.
In this instance, because of the song's lyrics, a degree of chaotic 'anger' is definitely justified.
You didn't seem to be reading them, perhaps a second run-through while reading them will help?
Some of their other tracks have true solos, with just the one instrument playing, such as "From Now On", or the instrumental version of Giovanni", if yoy want a better, clearer listen to their individuality.

Given your thoughts on this song, I'd recommend a slower song next. Endless Story (live) is a power ballad you could try. Or if you don't want to go that far, Puzzle (live) is a song that has plenty going on but is closer to convention in being mostly built around the vocals and lead guitar.
A lot of Band-Maid songs heavily feature the rhythm section, to the point that the concept of lead- and backing- parts becomes less meaningful. That's part of why I love them - they have a very innovative approach - but it does mean songs sometimes need multiple listens to really grab hold of the hooks (which I think happened to you here). Personally, I see this as a good thing, because their songs keep improving on the 5th or even the 50th listen, but there have certainly songs that didn't make sense to me on my first listen. But... that's only part of their discography. You can get a long away avoiding those songs if you really want, though I recommend trying them and they will probably grow on you.

  • @Parker--
    @Parker-- 3 месяца назад +5

If you're expecting to find a singular sound of Band-Maid's after two songs, you're going to be disappointed, friend. Their catalogue is among the most diverse in rock history. Hard rock, pop-punk, thrash metal, latin rock, punk metal prog, nu-metal, modern rock, pop-rock, anime metal, 00's indie, modern ballad, 00's rainy rock ballad, 80's summer ballad, 70's Blue Oyster Cult rock, 70's arena rock, alt-rock, modern bluesy rock, a random jazzy guitar solo, a samba bridge in the middle of an electric anime rock song.... And sometimes the lead singer does a little pseudo-rapping in certain songs. You're not going to find an idea of what they're capable of until you hear it all. And none of it is forced, either. Every genre is like they've been doing it for a decade, and then you won't find another song like it in their whole catalogue. Genuinely, it's crazy.

Yes. Excellent reaction and commentary. It’s obvious you share my ears for melody and groove.
This is definitely an example of Band Maid’s chaotic, dense music. This type isn’t what I enjoy most. However, never fear! The musical shapeshifters dressed as maids are here!
Here are a few of my favorites that will sit you in the groove and take you for a proper ride:
“Thrill,” OMV Their first video and the song that saved the band. Classic rock groove with a sweet chord change in the post-chorus.
“Don’t you tell ME,” Classic rock vibe with familiar drop down chorus. OMV is cool with decent audio; however, the official live is a rearranged and extended version.
“DICE,” OMV Hair metal with a 🎀 One of my favorites, Mötley Crüe/GnR with prog elements the Maids are known for
“Onset,” LIVE. An early progressive/alternative instrumental with clear verse/chorus arrangement
“Manners,” OMV Probably their funkiest groove. A nod to 2000’s pop/funk rock and still uniquely Band Maid
Welcome to the world of the Maid 🌍 The more feedback you give, the easier recommendations will be. I’m not exaggerating when I say that this band does it all. They’ve recorded songs that could appeal to fans of Zeppelin, Ramones, Rush, Hoobastank, or even Slipknot (Michael Crahan digs them too)

The bass tends to play a lead lick, and the rhythm guitar tends to cover for that by doing what the bass would normally do. Band-Maid isn't metal, and not technically that heavy. Except the way they use drum and bass makes them sound positively volcanic when they want to.
The lead guitarist is their songwriter, and part of the interest is that we just don't know where she will head next, and neither does the band.

@@jarongeil-vocalcovers2484 Here is the rest of that particular file, so you will know more about the Ladies.
Band Maid was started in 2013 by Miku Kobato. At the time she had just left the Idol Group, Lil Cumin and she didn't like the type of music she had been performing. She approached her management agency with the idea of making an actual band playing rock music but dressed as maids. She had worked in a Maid Cafe and thought the image of maids playing rockin music would create what she called "The Gap" between what you see and what you hear. The Management company was like Ok, go ahead.
Miku then looked around and found Kanami a singer/songwriter who was posting her own videos on the internet. Miku had her agency contact her and Kanami thought the idea was cool and agreed to join. Miku then asked if Kanami knew a drummer who might be interested. Kanami had worked with Akane in the past and there is 2 versions of this, the first is, Kanami literally walked over to Akane's apartment and asked her, the second is Kanami called Akane and asked her. (Akane has said in 2 different interviews that 1: Kanami called her and asked if she could come over and 2: in a second interview Kanami just came over) Akane was actually hesitant as she had worked in an "All Girl Group" before and didn't enjoy it as it wasn't the type of music she wanted to play. After hearing a Demo, Akane was like ok, but was still slightly hesitant because of the "Maid Outfits", but she agreed to give it a try. Akane was asked if she knew a bass player and she had gone to Tokyo School of Music with MISA and had worked a couple of jobs with her. So Misa was contacted and after she heard a demo she was like I like the music, but she also was hesitant about the "Maid Outfits", but she relented and joined in as she really wanted to play the kind of music she heard in the demo. The 3 of them then "Auditioned" for the record company and passed the audition.
Now we have the "Core" members. The 4 members worked out some songs provided for them by the record company, and a setlist and they had performed 3 times with just Miku on main vocals. Miku after those performances felt that her voice wasn't powerful enough to really perform the songs she wanted. So she approached her management company again and asked if they had any singers who weren't in other projects. They then auditioned several singers. Miku heard Saiki rehearsing in a room across the hall and asked if she could be auditioned, the record company then had Saiki audition.
Saiki was signed to the same management company and had done some work as a backup singer and dancer and was asked if she would be interested in auditioning for this new group which currently had 4 members and she would be the fifth. She had been a member of a group with 8 other people as a backup singer and dancer, and HATED it. So she listened to the demo and thought "Cool" because she liked the music.
Now we come to the tricky part. Miku KNEW that if Saiki was told about the "Maid Outfits" she would say NO WAY!, so they didn't tell her. They told her they would have "Cool/cute Clothes"(I've read it translated either way), and she never met Miku until a few days before they had a contracted performance. She wasn't told about the "Maid Outfits" until the day before the performance, and she had considered backing out, but she had signed the contract. (Saiki also had NEVER met Miku until then as well)
So the Ladies, went and did the performance and Saiki really, REALLY liked the crowds reaction and the music they were performing. She DIDN'T like the apron she wore so it got ditched after the first performance.
And you now have the beginnings of the BEST LIVE HARD ROCK BAND in the WORLD!
      ALL HAIL BAND MAID!!!!!
Now that we have the Full band, it was felt that there needed to be a second guitar. Saiki was like, "Not Me, No Way." So Miku said, "I'll do it.", at first that was literally all she did, was hold the guitar and mime playing it, until Akane said, if you are going to hold it, you NEED to learn to play it. And Miku said, "Ok.", and Kanami started to teach Miku how to play. The Ladies released their first album in 2014 "Maid in Japan" which failed to chart, but later after "Thrill" it was reissued and charted to #26 in Japan.

Then in 2015 they released "New Beginning"
On New Beginning was the song that changed Band Maid's entire existence. "Thrill"...
The band was getting ready to release their first music video and the choice was between "Love, Passion, Matador" and "Thrill" and the ladies chose Thrill. (Little known fact, Miku helped with the lyrics on Thrill but did not get credited)
This became the seminal moment of Band Maid. Because their second album charted at #64, the record company was seriously considering disbanding the Ladies and switching them to other projects. (In fact they had Kanami and Akane work with Mochi to Cheese thinking that when Band Maid cratered they could use them in another band. MISA had also just started working with Mochi to Cheese as well). However about 6 months after the video's release, a Facebook page "JRock Radio" posted the video to their timeline. And the video went viral. Having over a million views in just a few short weeks. The Ladies Twitter page got so many hits they thought their page had been hacked. Their RUclips channel also started getting more and more subscribers and views to Thrill.
Now the ladies knew where their fans wanted them to go. Harder Rock, less pop. And history was Maid.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask in a video or the comment section.

Catchy? "HATE?" is the last song on Band-Maid's *Unleash* album. There were a lot of good songs on that album, but "HATE?" didn't catch on with fans until they added the bass/guitar battle at Lollapalooza in the Summer of 2023.
Band-Maid has tons of 'catchy' songs.
The Maidiacs have heard this often: "There's a lot going on..." and they've been accused of using up far too many riffs in one song, riffs that other bands would milk out as many as 3 or 4 more songs. But Band-Maid's true genius is how they're able to string it all together into a coherent song. "HATE?" may be atypical of Band-Maid in that it isn't as catchy as most of their songs. And they do write quite a few catchy songs:
Try "Puzzle" live at Tokyo Garden.
    "From Now On"
    "I'll"
    "Corallium"
    "Manners"
    "No God"
    "About Us"
    "Endless Story"
    "Wonderland"

They described as a "Hard Rocking" band according to their official description. Rock is an overarching genre, Metal is a Sub-Genre of Rock, Punk is a Sub-Genre of Rock and of course there is pop rock... So I wouldn't necessarily force them into any one given sub-genre of rock.
