it doesnt happen often but, one of the best fucking things is just when you shoot off a chaos's spikes up close with a shotgun blast, esp if its a shotgun stinger its so satisfying with that little slowdown
I figured firearms stop chaos from rolling, and melee atks are more effective in breaking their spines. But boy, never would i imagine the correct way is to combine the two all along. Thank you for the awesome guides you’ve made so far.
Ah finally, these are one of the most annoying enemies in the game lol. 1. With Dante, one effective weapon against it is the Cavalier. When they start their spinning animation you can ram it with Full Throttle and more often than not it will break their spikes when you collide with it, provided you are not too far. On higher difficulties however, it will rarely break their spikes on a collision while they’re spinning, probably due to their increase in durability and the variety of spinning attacks that they do. Nonetheless, cavalier is still an effective weapon even on SoS difficulty since it’s multi-hit properties can stunlock it. And if you ram it with Full Throttle when it’s not spinning it will knock it down giving you free reign to destroy its spikes. I’m not sure about DMD and HaH however, since I never bother to play in those difficulties. Although I would wager that it’s not a recommended weapon on HaH due to its long animation leaving you open to attacks. 2. With Nero however, one effective and straightforward method that I use in dealing with them is the Helter Skelter Devil Breaker. I remember in one of your other guides we talked about how Helter Skelter is overshadowed by Overture due to its simplicity and all around usefullness. However, this is one of those few moments where Helter Skelter shines lol. Its Drill Master Breakage can instantly destroy their spikes when they are starting or during their spinning attacks, while it’s Drill Rig basic attack can easily destroy their spikes in a few attacks while it’s in a vulnerable state.
I got into the habit of prepping Round Trips at the end of every Bloody Palace floor and when I used it on Chaos it blew me away. These guys were the bane of my existence and then they got hard countered by a single move. Great video, as always!
@@NinetyNineNo I activated formation with DSD at 11:23 and used round trips, which kept the swords busy. After they returned back to me at 11:38 they started the swordmaster effect.
For Vergil, use summoned sword techniques to end the roll quickly. Blistering swords from the back will break the spikes, too. The back+shoot summoned swords will even launch as normal, trick up and combo to death.
I never thought twice about these guys. Thanks for educating me and teaching me otherwise. This is really good stuff to know and will prove very valuable!
Great stuff as always! Really nice to know that guns get so reduced on spike hits. Hadn't noticed in casual play. I must remember not to use mega cascade on a swarm of these guys. I also gotta test if SDT fireballs are super weak as well.
Holy damn! This is perfect, i never knew they'd stop with gunfire. Mission 13 has some nasty amount of chaos and even playing Vergil i get my ass beat lol, thanks
Idk if this is really viable or if I just get lucky all the time, but a well timed ice age seems to be helpful in fending off against the roll. And whenever the timing is off, I just jump and long barrel them from behind.
It depends on how you react. Chaos can delay their attacks but the tells are always obvious and fair. Riot on the other hand has subtle tells and their windup is designed to be long and hard to predict without memorizing the timing. Plus they have that headbutt which is super fast and does a lot of damage on DMD
alternative: ewgf spam it as nero with overture like u literally combo it until it's on 1% health and it activates dt, just do the upwards overture palm chain
I've managed to kill Vergil without any weapons only royal guard. It's not that hard. Some are multi hits so you need to dodge the cuts, but everything else is blockable
If I'm fighting two rolling chaos, I just use gunslinger ebony and ivory on thr ground. The fire rate makes them uncapable of getting high speed You get damaged only if the rolling spikes are shining. They can be rolling at point black, literally touching you, if the spikes aren't fast enough, nothing damages you, and they get stunned on the floor afterwards for an easy back break
DMD Chaos: exists * Me (a Vergil main):blistering swords * Chaos:Am I a joke to you? I’m not joking use blistering swords while he is rolling to instantly break his spikes
No, the spin dash isn't parryable in the traditional sense, just interuptable with enough damage. Gerbera doesnt do enough damage to break the spikes, so you would just lose the arm and take damage.
@@conqvistguides7313 I tried it. It can't be countered with Redline. To be more specific, It does some damage to Chaos's back but not enough to break it or stop rolling. I think it is because the rolling is not parriable. p.s Ice Age has insufficient invincible window to ignore rolling.
Honestly I love this game but it has my least favorite enemy roster out of all of them almost It just feels like for a game that wants you to combo enemies and style on them it sure gives a bunch of Highly aggressive enemies super armor I find myself being forced to jump out of my combos to avoid taking damage because so many enemies have super armor It's one of the major reasons everyone hated the blitz so much because it forced you to take on the defensive in an unfun way But now no one seems to be complaining about that kind of stuff instead they complain about the fury Who is literally a blitz without super armor they give you so many tools to beat the fury yet people complain about the fury instead of all the highly aggressive enemies with super armor or a blocking mechanic
Having trouble with Nero? Snatch before letting them roll and finish them with air combos. A buster and overture can help.
For V just in case someone asks:
1. Wait, V needs help?
Ruler when in doubt, back-forward shadow into porcupine spam.
@@ThePigKnight So true.
When we ask for playable Vergil, Itsuno gives us 50%

Wait how'd you get Swords Formation active at 11:39 without going into DSD?

Drive from Mirage Edge breaks them instantly if they roll but havent moved yet
Never seen these things spit before, dammit I got the platinum even. Guess I killed these things too fast.
Your guides are so good. I've S ranked DMD but still find a lot of stuff I didn't know in them.
Another great guide. Thanks so much Alan! Appreciate everything you do and the hard work you put into it all. Much respect and love for ya!
Thank you for these helpful tutorials tips. Keep up the good work.

Me: Chaos really arent that bad
Chaos: laughs in dante must die
Me: Cries Gold orbs
those shitheads even mess with you in HaH
Nero with snatch and enemystep: *flipping bird*
i swear i won't use any gold orbs, then i played every chap for around 100 times before i can finish it :)
Truly thank you for you hard work on this beautiful game ! I really love it and you
Thank you for this guide, I would have never figured out how to stop its rolling cause I rarely use firearms in this game.
Great vid , as always ! I really like these buggers , their effect are entertaining to me .

This video was awesome! It really helped me a lot!
You helped me a lot with this information. Thanks, thanks, thanks :)
If you do the fast version of drive it usually breaks the spikes after it’s royal guarded
Keep up the good work man!
Indulging in Chaos's coolness and your expert guidance✨👍
3:45 good to know
Chaos have killed me much more than Furies.
ThePigKnight same , i hate him so much
justin dante they got the god tier mix ups and the armor prevents you from doing charge shot/ranged cheese when you’re super low on HP.
Hate all three in general

*No body expects the Imperium Inquisition*
jk
this animes are a pain
i am glad you made a video dealing with them
Just burn it in the wind.
Vergil: WE’RE BURNING CHAOS IN THE WIND!!!
Chaos only hits me with 1 fuckin attack and its the back attack for some reason
I always get hit by that easily predictable back attack
Idk if this is really viable or if I just get lucky all the time, but a well timed ice age seems to be helpful in fending off against the roll. And whenever the timing is off, I just jump and long barrel them from behind.
When they roll just keep shooting until they drop or you can do a quick drive into their spikes
For Dante I use overdrive to break chaos down while rolling, so it came off pretty easy if you ask me
Yay New vids
Such delicate balance a risk and reward system for Dante especially and then Vergil come and fucks everything up.
I haven’t reached Dante’s first mission on HAH difficultly yet. Does a regular block against any enemy use up all of his DT besides this one?
Yeah, regular blocks break in HAH in all situations.
Unless you are a god an can perfect guard all attacks, dont use RG on HaH.
Does anyone knows how much does Dt and sword formation increase damage by?
Also, with proper timing and angle you can dodge his rolls with balrog breakdance
You can do the next guide for the baphomet
Never thought they wait for input with their long spin. Interesting. But Riot with their insta DT is still more dangerous i think.

like u literally combo it until it's on 1% health and it activates dt, just do the upwards overture palm chain
for me, as Dante i use round trip (hold style action on swordmaster style)
it will automatically destroy chaos armor
Use dt stinger to hit them outta beyblade mode
The BP cheeser is back
You should make a video on timing for royal guard especially on Vergil

Can I counter rolling with Redline?
Forgot to try that, id imagine if it does enough damage it can break through safely. If it doesn't you'll take a hit but probably still be fine.
