    These guys were a real wakeup call on SoS and DMD. They go from punching bags to sneaky ambush bastards.

      Necroposting an old comment here, but I agree. In DMD, they go into DT mode early unlike other enemies, so they're terrifying.

      @@amsyarzero try the 2nd floor in mission 13 on dmd....its exactly where i developed my absolute hate for these bastards
      These guys have little to no warning when attacking, are super swift and have super armor
      Like even getting them up in the air is already a problem to isolate and shred one safely
      It took me a couple of tries to get a no damage run becase these fuckers make said no damage run feel too rng reliant(i hate anything rng fyi except enemy spawns in real time kind of gameplay)

      @@legendarydigitize2523 Oh, I hate that part of the level too. Even with Vergil, which is arguably the most OP char to play, it's still difficult and super annoying.

    No wonder it felt like these guys would always attack me off-screen. They got attacks that take so long to wind-up that it gives plenty of time to move the camera away from them and easily get blindsided.

    This creature gets the award for being the most threatening enemy in dmc 5. With all of the near indistinguishable claw swipe patterns in has with other demons about and a DT that activates very early, you can easily get flanked, stunlocked, &, massively damaged. Nero can easily isolate one with snatch to deal with them that way. V has plenty of AoE attacks to stagger and knockdown multiples of them. Dante can have some issue unless juggling. So here’s my advise.
    1. Camera control. It can not be stressed enough. Isolate enemies or to pacify aggressive groups for more precious moments.
    2. Coyote. By shooting a buck of prejudice to their face up-close, it will likely stagger or knock the down. This gives precious time to re-position yourself or pull that one away from other demons. Fireworks (executed in Gunslinger by pressing [O] or [B]) is a great way to knockdown multiple targets.
    3. Kalina Ann’s Blaster (Gunslinger only while jumping). Juggles enemies on hit with a crucial knockdown afterward. Nothing like doing this numerous times to crowd-control.
    4. King Cerberus. Ice Age and Lighting really help against them in a group.
    5. Trickster. Just by having this active, you can move out of harm’s way and re-position yourself.
    6. Double Kalina Ann’s Cascade. Huge range with big power make it a great long-range engaging tool with camera manipulation. It knocks down enemies and blows them away, making camera control even better.
    7. Dr. Faust. Man In The Red supplies a steady stream of damage and punishes the creature for being close to you (its optimal area for dealing damage). Red shot (holding the shoot button) is very effective, killing one in 7 seconds on DMD with the Dr. Faust upgrades (1,2,3, & 4).

      @@manbat4582 Different play styles. I like playing efficiently, carefully, and strategically more than focusing on insane skillful combos that you could pull off without understanding the exact anatomy and behaviors of enemies. Of course, even if I tried I probably wouldn't develop the skill to do it, but it's just not the way I like it personally regardless of my abilities. I enjoy feeling like I'm "fighting" with my own strategy rather than beating up. And I'm sure I'm not too rare of a case.

    • @manbat4582
      @manbat4582 4 года назад

      @@MyNipplesArePointy stylish is the strategy. One of the reasons DMC stands out among other action games is that you don't need to overanalyze shit. You can freely react to attacks with anything so fooling your brain with detailed info about enemies is just pointless.
      And if you doing this to "beat" the game, cheesing it is the best way to go

    These guys are absolutely aggressive in DMD mode and do shit ton of damage. They are the Hell Lusts of DMC 3 but with 10 different moves. My only issue with this game and enemy is that it’s tough to royal guard them if they’re in a group. The visual and audible cues are not distinct enough and you end up getting combo’d. In general, royal guard in dmc 5 has not proven useful in the normal battles but extremely good in boss fights. This was not the case in dmc 3 where you could simply royal release your way through the game. (Except with certain enemies). Dmc 5 on the other hand is not royal guard friendly. Royal revenge is cool though.
    Edit: I take back my earlier statement. These enemies are excellent and a lot of fun with royal guard. I was just a noob back then. Riots are still the hardest enemies though.

      @@praisemidir at least they arent as bad as frosts in 4
      That one was an even more shitty take on balance
      Its mostly hideki kamiya's fault for having the inability to know what is fair, and the difference between challenge and frustration
      Its still prevalant in the bayonetta games
      Like in 5 they did the smart thing to do and remove the time requirement to grade a mission since time and style conflict too much
      How can you get style points if you kill things too quickly? How can you finish fast enough while you are trying to rack up style?
      See how they conflict?
      Its still in bayonetta 3 and it is still off putting (time requirement and style, also how little damage you took)
      Then kamiya posted that is essentially talking down on people like they are noobs(regarding the buff on Viola in the update patch)

    Is there any reason as to why you use Rebellion instead of Sparda? I know that DSD has a different moveset but i'm not entirely sure what are the differences between Rebellion and Sparda.

    • @conqvistguides7313
      @conqvistguides7313  5 лет назад +16

      Sparda does more damage per hit than rebellion in all situations. Stinger, round trip, and hightime all do more damage with sparda than the DSD versions of these moves.
      (not counting round trips)
      I use rebellion because it looks cool.

    There's something wrong with the enemies in this game. I didn't even know Riots really had tells and moves. Everything is too easily juggled and controlled and they give too much time to the player on any difficulty except DMD to just wail on them. It's like how enemies only attack one at a time in Assassins Creed. Hell, just pick one, air combo it, and move on to the next. Thanks for making the video though, it's interesting to see all the nuance this game has that is completely wasted because the enemies are just pathetic.
