The reason the Bowser Squad tries to kill Dante is that because they were Vergil's nightmares, which were nightmares about the Angelo's, V was enraged when he first saw the Proto and Scudo Angelo's. The nightmare was there because Vergil was once Nelo Angelo (now Cavaliere Angelo, which is the upgraded Nelo Angelo) and since V merged with Urizen again and became Vergil, the Bowser Squad was finally free on what to do, since Dante killed them, it was the end of Vergil's old nightmares. It's called Familiars or Nightmares in the Wiki.

I’m fairly certain a good chunk of characters in this game swing either way to some extent.
Even though Max's "old" videos and content may not have the same editing quality as his new videos, I actually prefer these old videos because it's nice and simple along with the fact that I'm not being bombarded by seizure inducing transitions and effects (no offense, of course)
in my opinion, his "lower quality" videos are more fun too watch than anything else he had made recently. i just cant seem to laugh at any of the jokes he made now.
