My father Sgt Samsuri is one of the instructors for the first intake of National Service until the early 70's ..
I stood up to the challenge and served. And now my son also served. And I expect his sons to serve too. The fact that we can have the next generation after us in this land is a good enough reason for why we serve.

SAF was formed to delay the 'British pullout' which could 'paralysed' the whole of Singapore economy from the British investments of job creations for the locals. So, in 1966 our first Defence Minister Dr Goh Keng Swee formed the SAF OCS at Pasir Laba Camp. Five years later in 1971, the British pull-out completely with her 'last farewell'. Now, Singapore is eveready to defend herself with the British legacy of Changi Hospital and BMH(British Military Hospital now Alexandra Hospital).
My China mother saved me from the first batch of OCS* Pasir Laba tought trainings from the Israelis instructors(battle-tested)* the letter is personally signed by our 1st Defence Minister Dr Goh Keng Swee....to sum up with one word for the 1st Batch OCS...SHIONG!
When you watched Russia invading Ukraine without a second thought, untrained men and women suddenly want to learn how to use a weapon to fight back, well it is just too late. If they had citizen soldiers, reserves and regular forces. Putin had to think many times. Luckily, Russian forces are not up to their forefathers standard. Thank you, all SG service men in the Armed Forces and Civil Defence
Hope this doesn't mean the wospec series is cancelled. Only 3 clips so far.
Hormat SAF!!!
