Thank you! My windows are a different brand but with a similar coil type. Mine didnt have a cutout so I wasnt sure how to replace the coil without breaking the windkw!
Edit: I did a little careful surgery in the window to make a similar cutout. Now the spring is replaced and the window is good as new!
This is my issue no cutout 😅 can I ask how u performed the surgery ?
@@fourtwentythreesorry it took so long to reply. I took a multitool with a flat blade attachment and just cut a notch similar to what already exists in this window. Just make sure you do it high like his is so that there is no risk of it slipping out unintentionally during normal usage. Id post a video but unfortunately I have a window AC in that window right now.
Looking at his again Im actually wondering if these are truely built into the window or if its normal for a contractor to cut these upon installation because those edges do look a little rough compared to the rest of the frame.

Hi, i have a 12 lb window that needs coil spring replacement.do i need 2 6s or 2 12s ? Thank you !
2004 models Certainteed dbl hung window...coil uncoiled for the 2nd time, previous replacement part lasted approx. 1 year On plastic piece inside marking H65 32/3M
You will have to cut the vinyl back to get the coil balance out
Luckily, this window hand a cut-out, but check out our other videos that demonstrate how to cut the vinyl.
Do I have to buy new items or can I just reuse it and refit it? The coil is above the plastic bit and the window no longer opens

Man why don’t these windows have a cut out? Makes it impossible to replace. I don’t feel comfortable cutting my window. Guess I will keep using my stick to hold it open
It seems some manufacturers would rather have you replace the whole window.
