If you have old school windows using Block and Tackle Balances, here is an easy fix for the broken balances.
It's hard to find exact replacements, and they cost around $10 each. With around 20 windows in a house, these quickly add up.
You can fix them easily with replacement parts. Here is a fix for the broken terminal hook. - Развлечения
Thank you!! Seems to be one of the only videos that shows how to do this correctly
Amazing tutorial!! Very detailed. This gave me a much better understanding of how the mechanism worked. Thx so much for creating this.

Thanks for an informative video that's right to the point and clear. Ordered replacement clips from SWISCO and I should be good to go once they arrive. Window has been broken for years and now it will finally work again. You should post information about where you bought the parts so we don't have to scour the comments for the information.
Will do.thanks

Nice..very rare to see someone fixing parts. Mostly I see replacement videos...lol
I agree. Today's throw-away society doesn't even consider the DIY repairs that can be (somewhat) easily had if we're willing to _do it ourselves_ . Then again, there are still people such as yourself, RManni and myself who are absolutely interested in DIY... hence our visit here!
Very good - man. Great job.
非常感谢🙏讲解细致😊我可以自己修窗户了😊

Thanks...awesome to see clear repair video. Is there a video for fixing the string pulley? I have string broken into the plastic pulley.
Thanks
Would of liked to see longer clips photos of how the rope/sash goes mine came out!
I personally would just buy a whole new one!!
It costs about 10 to 15 dollars. Cost could quickly add up when you have multiple windows
My house has like 20 windows 😄
I’ll hVe to come back to this when it isn’t 3 degrees below zero and windy!
This is the best instructional video I've seen today. Where did you order the clips? Thank you.
RManni
I got it from swisco.com

@@rmanni Thank you.
Not my style window but very nice video
Thanks for sharing this replacement video, it was very helpful. Where do you buy the terminal hooks? Also have you replaced the chord inside the channel?
I haven't replaced the chord. I bought the clips from here www.swisco.com/cord-clip/pd/Replacement-Sash-Support-Channel-Balance-Shoes/62-108
Excellent sir! My Milguard window hook cable was broken and need to buy the hook with cable. Where can I buy them?
I got the hook from here www.swisco.com/cord-clip/pd/Replacement-Sash-Support-Channel-Balance-Shoes/62-108
Thanks for the post. I inspected and did not see anything visually wrong in the balances. But still one of my windows goes up an inch from the bottom when it is closed and another larger window slides from top to the bottom with nonresistance. Any ideas what could be wrong? The windows are 22 years old. Should I just replace the balance?
Yeah, try with new balance. They should cost around 10 bucks each.
Can you suggest a good hardware site to buy the window channel. My channel looks good but the nylon rope inside the channel was torn . Not sure if I can get that part or if I have to buy the whole window channel.
I got mine from www.swisco.com
Nylon rope is probably hard to change, you might want to buy a new balance.
excelente thank you
Where did you get the broken terminal hook replacements, any one know
there should be a link in the description

Thanks for showing how these parts work. My problem is one of the balance blocks is stuck in the up position. I pulled it to the side just barely enough to click out the tabs and can slide the window all the way up again now but the block and sash are still jammed in there. How do I remedy this? I don't have any pivot lock shoes to slide and take it out of the pane, either.
If you move the window all the way up, try to wiggle a bit. It should loosen the balance and slide out
I use windowrepairparts.us for all my window parts.
Awesome video! Thanks.
Thank you!
