- I thought I update my video for the folks needing help fixing the single fix window on the left and right sides of a XO (non-tilt) window.
The parts can be found at:
www.swisco.com/cl/Replacement...
Make sure you get the right numbering on the channel balance (sash) before purchasing the replacement part. Both channel balances are recommended to be purchased at the same brand so the window will close evenly together.
If you like this video, please help with a thumbs up so other people can watch the video. Please help post a comment to help others with a similar issue.

This video helped repair a window that has been broken for years. Thank you so much!
You're welcome!
I watched about five videos before yours and yours was easily the best. Thank you for the video because it helped me fix two windows in my house.
I haven't put it back together yet, buI I know it will be way simpler than I was trying to do for hours. Perfect way to be able to wash 2nd story windows. So glad I watched this video, what a great guy! I do them once a year and forget every time how to do it. Getting older and the brain not working so good! Thank you so much,
Excellent video. Slowly and carefully explained what I needed to know to get my window out, replace the springs, and get it all together again.
This is exactly the video I needed to see.
Thank u foe such great details
You are so welcome!
Thank you for your video!! You helped me figure out how to repair my Home Depot window!!!!
Glad I could help!

You're welcome!
Outstanding video and thank you.
Very welcome
Amazing video thank you so much sir !!!!!
Most welcome!
Excellent video guy!!! I have some 30-year old I believe Pella windows where the channels have fallen to the bottom of the sash and your video provide guidance for the fix. I'll tell you, I have neigbors who have experienced te same issue and they had all their windows replaced to the tune of $10,000 to $18,000. OUCH!!!
I'll tried your fix fiest on my windows that are otherwise fine. Hope I can find the proper channels for my old 1990 vintage windows....
Thanks, I've posted the link in the description where I purchased the channel balance.
Great explanation!
Thanks
Thank you fam,, 💯

Thanks!
Thanks for your support.
Thank you for your help , how did we do it before RUclips. You are a good friend.
Any time. Spent time researching to find out.
This helps me tremendously!! Thank you sir ! 😊
Glad to hear that!
Mine swings out but great video
Thx for this video, very helpful. Do you know what I can do if the Sash/window balance is missing the number?
There should be a sash on the left and right. Maybe check the other side if it has a number. Best to replace in pairs to match.
One of the sides, the hook was attached to the top of is, really trying to see if that matters at all lol
You did a great job on your video! Thank you 👍 If the string is broken, can it be replaced or do I need to replace the entire balancer?
Not easy to replace strings. I would replace the whole thing. Thanks
Unfortunately for me the bottom plastic cap on the bottom of the channel balance that extends to the left away from the balance absolutely refused to let me seat the right side bottom of the window in the channel. Tried switching the balances to opposite sides of the window - same issue. Going to check other videos ... hopefully someone else had same problem. CHECKED ANOTHER VIDEO AND FOUND OUT THIS VIDEO LEFT-OUT USING THE CHANNEL LOCKS IN THE CHANNELS TO LOCK-IN THE TOP OF THE BALANCE (be sure to press the channel locks back-in after you drop the window all the way down).
Thanks for sharing
No we are going out in a few minutes
You said your rope was broke but your not showing how to fix it? Confused
Not worth the trouble to fix the rope in my case.
Didn't say where

Thanks for sharing. I am trying to paint the outside frame from the inside, having the bottom piece attached is pain to paint. I was searching to see how to remove it and your video is the best for how to.
Glad I could help
