  • The Channel Balance is a newer window load setup on newer homes with Andersen and Pella windows. These are on the left and right sides of a XO (non-tilt) window.
    Version 2 with better video and audio: • SINGLE FIX WINDOW: REP...
    When my first window in my home encountered an issue where the channel balance failed, I had a difficult time looking for a solution. After researching for a number of days, I finally was able to piece together what's the item name that I needed to purchase to repair my window but where shall I buy it from. There seem to be many different types in tension, size, and endpoint connectors.
    So I thought this video may help to show the problems with the channel balance and how to repair it. Of course, you can always reach out to the window folks and they may charge a sum of dollars to fix it for you'll.
    For those folks looking for a part, here's the one I found helpful in their support and selection. Note: it's easy to buy the wrong one, reference the broken one for reference before purchasing.
    www.swisco.com...
    I really hope this helps someone out there. I had some bad video filming angles, pardon me for having not the best video.
    Appreciate a thumbs up so others can view this video. Please let a comment to help others. Thanks.

    Ha, I took off my first time window for cleaning. To my surprise when I reinserted window one of the channels popped up, I tried to remove window however the channel was stuck so I gave up. I closed window with channel up :(. Thanks to this video I gave it another shot and was able to slide channel out and redo the window. I figured my mistake the first time was I did not ensure both channels were in the window groove upon reinserting. Thank you!!

    Right! They all break around the same time. So, I can buy a new channel balance, but do you have any suggestions for repairing or lubricating? I'm thinking of replacing the one that broke and seeing if I can repair/lubricate it because I need to do this for about 10 windows in my house that are really getting hard to push.

    • @netman88
      @netman88  4 года назад

      I think you want to replace these in pairs or it won't be balance in weight. My suggestion is take the good one and match with another window and make pairs that way. I don't know about repair. I'm not an expert on repairing the balance.

      @@netman88 Thanks for this ... I was told by our inspector that our windows would need some lubrication 3 years ago when we bought the house and now they're pretty tight and can break. I'll keep doing research on this but maybe just buying new balances is the best way to go.
