My girlfriend told me to tell you to thumbs up, because she fixed her window! WELL DONE THANK YOU THANK YOU! Saved us some moolah hiring someone. I actually ran out of the room pretending I didn't see a window on the ground, as she was working ...glad that worked out, haha!
Cause of this video it took me less time to fix the window than it did to watch the video, and this video is super short. Thanks man the fact that you said to pick the hole with the most scuffs was super helpful too.

I’ve had a window that I been putting a candle in to prop it open for about a year now and this video fixed my issue in about ten minutes. Thank you! 😂
I moved into a new house with a window that didnt work, it sucked because I workout in the morning and with my previous house, I would open the window to get fresh air in the room I worked out in. At this current house I could open the window but took a lot of effort. I needed the window open because it felt stuffy and I would feel suffocated With this video, I fixed my window and am empowered to help anyone if they ever need this information as well Thank you💚
whew, did it! thanks! before installing the new balancer, cleaned up a bunch of grime. when installing the new channel balancer, had to grab it with entire hand and pull down. the spring was too hard to push down with just fingers. re-inserting the window, fit better by doing the right side of the window first.
@@symongoni9634 haha, I haven't had to work on any recently. Try cleaning and lubing the wheels and track. And also clean and lube the chain if its chain driven. They sell special spray lube for garage doors but any lithium or silicone based spray will work well 👍 and if that doesn't help some of your wheels may need replacing
Thanks for the video. It gave me insight as to what to look for. The balancer in my window is screwed in rather than held in by clips, but I assume it works essentially the same.
Great demonstration. One question - near the beginning you used a screwdriver to lift the clip out, then you can lift the window. What I don't understand is that it when the clip is out I would guess that the window would hit it when trying to lift the window. If the clip was left in (flat) then wouldn't that allow you to lift the window? Would appreciate your feedback. Thanks!
With the clip popped out when you lift the window it disengages the channel balance so you can fully remove window. Just the way its designed. Hope this helps 👍
You make it look so easy! I bet this vid took you 20 takes. However yours was the best tutorial on YT so for that you get a thumbs up my awesome dude :)

@@JonnyDIY Other videos I found online showed a different style window. Yours looks almost just like mine. I didn't even need to replace the sash balance. It only took 15 minutes and that was with me cleaning the window and frame.
Great tutorial I have three windows in my house that have this issue. The sash balance came out in all three windows and I tried reinstalling the sash balances in one window to see if I could get the window to say up. After doing that and putting the window back both sash balances came out of the hole when I opened the window after closing it all the way as you did. For some reason the hooks aren't staying in the hole. I only have one square hole so I couldn't have gotten that part wrong. We've lived in this rental house for eight years and this was an issue when we moved in so I suspect the sash balances are just worn out and the hooks can't handle the tension. Thanks for helping me.
Great video. Was able to do all of this but it appears as if there are 2 plastic pieces on the top corners of the window. One is intact and the other is broken.
