Today’s video is full of decluttering, cleaning, updating and refreshing my basement! I had so much to do! I cleaned and updated five rooms and my entryway down into the basement! Kudos to you for your ongoing efforts towards becoming more minimal in your decor. I, too, am a fan of symmetry but maybe where you removed the popcorn maker you could put the tray of decor you usually have in the middle of the countertop. That way you have some form of balance and you open up the center of the countertop a bit more. Just a thought. What a journey it's been to keep up with the ebb and flow of your life. Keep up the great job!
Oh my goodness, Matt! As I was watching the video, that’s exactly what I was thinking! I thought it would even be better because of angling the little inspirational saying in the corner. it would also free up the middle of the bar for preparing snacks or things like that! sure they are a joy! I do the exact same thing cleaning up toys - it put them back together the way they are supposed to go and make sure I have all the pieces!!! lol. How did I know, sweet friend, that you had drawers full of pictures in frames? Because I DO TOO! You win the contest tho bc I don’t have as many as you! I think I counted 27 - just so I could tell you! lol. I love the plastic sleeve idea for keeping the photos accessible too! I think the lamp swap was a good idea and I think it looks great! I’m a symmetrical gal too so it would be hard for me not to put something where the popcorn maker was but I am trying desperately to stop “over decorating” spaces and try to have things more open and clutter free. I guess I just become clutter blind when it comes to decor. But I’m working on it! Those new soap dispensers are so pretty! Perfect touch for that bathroom! Looks fantastic! I don’t know honestly, where all those frames came from! I don’t remember buying that many, but obviously I did .🤷🏻♀️ unfortunately, I know that I have more than what I quoted because I have pictures sitting out right now. I truly think I will probably go back and get rid of some of the ones I kept.
The more we talk, the more I know we are alike! I was so tempted to put something in the corner of the kitchenette bar, but I’m glad I didn’t. I actually had a suggestion, and I was thinking the same thing about sliding the basket tray over to the corner, and freeing up the center of the bar. I have already done it and I like it so much better!

Try moving your round tray to where the popcorn popper was located. That gives you open space to work.

Hello my friend! I just LOLed at you not being able to hide things from us 😂 I tried the scrubbing bubbles on my moms washer & the floor last week hoping it would make less scrubbing. Well it failed on what I tried it on . I mean it cleaned but I still scrubbed lol It's not the scrubbing bubbles fault , it just needed more attention .I don't remember which video you mentioned it on but it was like you read my mind I was thinking about trying it on my folks floor . Great tidy up and refresh today ! I do like the lamp change , brilliant choice 💕 Those packnplays look simple, so why are they so annoying to take down & put up 🤔😅 but they do make good toy catches when the littles leave if you're in a hurry . Yes I am lazy like that LOL and for more toy storage I'd just get another ottoman if there's room. I love seeing your positive videos you always make me smile .... the cushions LOL Love you bunches my friend ! Enjoy your company and the beautiful space you have made !

Well, shoot, I am sad the scrubbing bubbles didn’t help that much! So funny that you mentioned the pack and play…. I have done the same thing! I referred to it as the holding tank!!
That is a good suggestion about getting another ottoman, oh, it might just do the trick! I’m not super crazy about the clear totes, but they are things I already had.

I think if you use more often less decor, you'll get used to it. It doesn't need everywhere a little something, it feels often calmer, when there isn't too much out.

Hey! When you opened the drawers in that chest of drawers I had flashback to the chest of drawers in my guest room😳! Except my drawers are FULL of albums and loose pictures. I have no clue what to do with any of them since I have no kids to pawn them off on and no family member wants them. I know they will end up in a landfill once I move on to the next level of existance. At least they aren't in my way now. ❤
Hello Jean! It is so crazy how things like that accumulate! I know there are many of those photos I should go ahead and throw away, but I will save that for another day! I saw a video the other day about why we keep so many things and even if we pass them on within 100 years from now, everything we own will be in a landfill. It was pretty eye-opening that’s for sure. Holy Hannah on the Photo Frames...lol ! Shades of M e ! Seriously. 😁... But I love pictures of Family and Friends, so ...ohhhh wellllll ! But you did a lot with everything today! The TV Area looks put together, Tidy.. Warm. Welcoming.....and that is whole point . People will most likely realize that your Home is " lived in " and you shouldn't feel like you have to break down the pack and play ..Yes, ...we want things clean and we want things neat ... and you want things " picked up " but sometimes you know , Real Life just dictates that things stay where they are. And that's Life. No need to stress unnecessarily over it. ...in a month from now, it won't matter that the Pack n Play wasn't taken apart. :)
Yes, that Bedroom needed a larger Lamp , and I almost suggested that before. Lol. ...that Lamp looks really good in there,and the Downstairs looks great !
I was thinking...perhaps a floor Lamp behind the chair (?) might be something to consider. The lantern looks good on that tabke by the chair.
Your Home is so lovely, and it is a Home that's " lived in " , and enjoyed... as it should be.

I know, head hanging down and shame, the picture frames were out of control! I truly don’t remember buying that many frames! Little by little I guess they just kept adding up! I was just saying, I am going to go back and get rid of a few that I kept since I already have pictures sitting out in my home.
Yes, ma’am, my home does look lived in, because it is! There has been such a shift in making everything look, aesthetically pleasing that folks are losing that “homey feel”.. I myself have been guilty!
I love your suggestion about a floor lamp! my husband actually enjoyed having a lamp there and a floor lamp place behind the chair would still keep it roomy and give him back the light he enjoyed! Less decor in the bedroom the better, especially any decor with words.
