      Comments like this make me happy. For the last 10+ years I have had arguments with people telling me that LEDs will never replace HIDs. I have always had faith that LEDs would be the future. It made so much sense to me that you could adjust the spectrum using different LED chips versus being stuck with a spectrum that will never change and wasted energy producing more heat than usable light.

    If 2 of these were side by side touching, what would the par levels be where the 2 fixtures touch? I’m looking to buy 3-4 led lights and have them touch to get a nice even High par all the way throughout the canopy. Or do you have suggestions? I’ve advocated people integrate leds into thier veg and flower set ups since good blurple lights became affordable about 8 years ago. The blurple spectrum Mixed with hps at a 1:4 blurple led to hps makes plants experience the Emerson effect. I’m so excited to use these new full spectrum leds and new generation blurples together! This decade is going to be insane.

    • @robertpierpont2262
      @robertpierpont2262 4 года назад

      well yes 100% it has an effect, Shane usually goes with what the company recommends when it comes to hanging height but Shane usually tests them at multiple heights anyway

    • @DeeJayCoolio
      @DeeJayCoolio 4 года назад

      @@robertpierpont2262 I'm curious because in the Migro Aray manual it gives umol/Watt readings and I'm confused.
      120W 2x Bar @ 38cm = 2.3 umol/Watt.
      120W+red 2x Bar @ 16cm = 2.4 umol/Watt
      Massive difference in hanging height and only 0.1 umol/Watt increase over the same area. Maybe I'm interpreting it wrong?

    • @michael2305
      @michael2305 2 года назад

      @@DeeJayCoolio The hanging height does not change the efficacy of your fixture ofc, but a slightly different amount of photons will hit your surface. (The higher you hang your lights the more photons are able to ''bounce around'' therefore the slight loss of par intensity.)

    I can't understand how grow lights pricing has gone sky high. I get it more efficient means less wattage and less money but with simple calculation similar COB led lights or other not so efficient white led grow lights are a fraction of the price with similar results and you can keep the difference for paying the extra wattage for 10 years leaving you free to upgrade after a few years. Imagine buying these and then after a few years wanting to upgrade. Well if you are that rich you can buy your weed from a vendor.
    Migrolights are way cheaper and similar efficiency!

      @@jaimedelgado7529 UV has been shown to stress cannabis into producing more resin and cannabinoids, however I don't think it should be incorporated into a fixture. This should be done at the growers discretion with additional fixtures. An ideal light would apply the maximum amount of photons possible (with a good spectrum) to drive photosynthesis as much as possible and not create any additional stresses. Most growers will already have a hard enough time trying to harness the light these vertical fixtures give off without their plants experiencing stress.

      since u know your lights could u recommend a cheap uv supplementation fixture like you're speaking of so I can have a look at specs/ price? cheers man

      @@jaimedelgado7529 if I were to go with UV LEDs I would probably choose the horticulture lighting group UVA supplement bar. However I've heard UV LEDs are not very long-lived so I would more than likely choose a fluorescent fixture with UV bulbs. From what I understand you don't need a lot of wattage to get the desired effects.

    Hey, great review! Been following your stuff for a while now and always enjoy the videos.
    The instructions aren't super clear about max fixtures. The real number is closer to 500 per channel with using the E-Series Adapter as you are ;)
    I ran into the same deal with finding a place to mount the adapter. In vertical racks, those tabs on top are easy mounting points above the fixture. Otherwise in my tent I just place it on top of the center driver housing and use a couple of long zip ties to wrap around both.
    Hope you have a chance to test it out in a garden!

      MRKWA you must not have noticed yet that any and all Shane’s reviews are slightly lower than most manufacturers specified data. This is mainly because any “good” company gets an outside study done in a sphere for the testing of ppfd, par, and efficacy. Flat bottom of a tent gives a great basic idea of how the lights perform but without the sphere no one can get the higher result. Bottom line whether it’s a MIGRO fixture or a budget fixture or a mid or high end fixture they are all getting better and better. Quality still has a price though and that’s what people seem to look past.
