Yup Invisible Sun make good lights too, comparable to HLG similar hardware, there based in Liverpool UK so I am surprised Richard hasn't sent Shane a light to test already.
@@420mFuk He's not going to do that because his Umol/J figures are false. HLG through its partnership with Samsung LED gets exclusive access to their highest brightness chips, everyone else uses the lower bin/lower efficiency/lower brightness LED chips, including invisible sun. He is clearly cashing in on the fact the average person has no way to test his claims, and he is cashing in on HLG QB fame whilst tricking people into buying an inferior product, hence I buy from HLG as they are reputable, and they have the lab reports proving the scorpion is legit 2.93umol/j, even Shane said he cannot see this light being beat for a long time, so you have to wonder what magic chips does a small company like IS have?
Any thoughts or previous vids on the sylstar units? I've been looking at the 220w with Samsung led and meanwell, seems good value at £175 + shipping.. cant decide between that and viparspectra xs2000 or your Aray 4. Appreciate any input, thanks
Would love to see the Optic Slim 600H tested. It's a big fixture with a high number of Samsung LM301H leds , so maybe it has a chance to compete with this Diablo...
When you buy a light like mars hydro, you might be getting Samsung diodes but not top bin. HLG gets the best diodes, no question. When LEDs are made, each one is tested. They are categorized by their output, and the rejected pile is sold as such. They ARE Samsung diodes, just not the good ones. You take a pile of diodes that fall 10 or 20% short in output, and you wind up with a light that costs the same electricity to run, but output is lower. These HLG boards are creme of the crop.
@@heywoodjablome5630 you would be correct. Nowhere in the history of Samsung leds has there been a fucking 20% drop off in effiencey from diode to diode. Its like this folks. @@SouthernSilverExchange yep! My understanding was the diablo boards are all Samsung chips. None by Osram. If this is true diablo boards exist as a Samsung marketing device as the red Osram and the red Samsung diodes are quite comparable in quality from what I understand.

What if I put a Spider Farmer SF4000 and an SF2000 together in a 5x5 tent at $800 for both. Would I get Same or better uniformity of light throughout the 5x5 space than using (1) HLG Scorpion Diablo at $1,400. That’s a $600 savings. Also Taking into consideration spider farmer is good for Veg and flower.
Shane, I'm disappointed again, where is the PAR map???????????? I know you did the test you showed it in the video, please put it up. For me the most important stats of any light is the PAR map, the more evenly spread the more I would consider buying it. Test or design a light with no hot spot and I will be the first in line to buy it. They do not have a PAR map on the HLG web site, so it's really important that you amend this video with the results of your PAR test.
The only US labor on an HLG is loading the Japanese LED board stuffers and putting quantum boards into a shipping. box. The LEDs and and PC board are all made overseas.
Do you have a standard grid measurement system that has been covered in older vids? I ask simply because I was interested in its grid par and the clip was quick but the #'s looked low, what height was the light, what power setting was the light at? I only saw one 3 digit measurement and it was only around 100 so I figured this was like only the 1st power click.

"Wots up"..
That's a good point...
I'm not keen on the look of the hlg
GG has his new lighting config coming in December. Hit him up for a test.
Nice work ,very good review! I wish you had Aray 50 watts .
I have the 300 rspec and dream of getting the Diablo next year
I’m torn between this and the gavita 1700 led for my 5x5 tent
Mine has a Mean Well driver. Did they switch then? I just purchased mine August 2022
How do I know HLG is better performing than other led lights. Except its higher price, I didn't see other advantages.
I have the 600v spec r I just finished one Harvest crushed for plants I'm doing for more now in bloom I only use this light as my primary bloom I can only imagine what this light will do it's on sale right now I would hate to pass it up but do I really need it I just picked up a Growers Choice E420 I can get this light right now for 900 us but I really don't need it my 600R is very efficient in the beginning of transition I only keep it halfway at 300 watts in a 4 by 4 gorilla very important to keep your humidity down with these lights good airflow and lots of CO2 these lights outperform the plants The HLG 300 v Spec l in a 2x4 is a true 600 watt hps finished off some White Widow with that one paid top dollar for it though 450 but if I get years out of these God willing it's a small investment paid for itself off each Chop I wouldn't say small investment with everything else involved but for the lights yes hlg is my favorite as well as Growers choice I seen the video that you posted with the E420 so I got a hell of a deal on that one a friend of mine runs the Growers Choice E720 I think it's a Monster next step up the reason I chose the E420 was the fact that the top of the plant can actually be almost 6 in from the light and the build quality is very exceptional with the high par output little heat my Mars Hydro are up for sale they throw off way too much heat 👍 review
Glad HLG have seen sense. Would really love to see what you think of the avicii from revolution micro it’s 1150w with spectrum tune ability
Nice Shane, thanks a bunch for adding this to one the pile of worth it LEDs. Are you going to test the KIND X2 or any of their other offerings? How about black dog?
i own the hlg 650r which uses 4 of the diablo boards and i love it
Would you recommend it for a 4x4?
May I suggest a dedicated page on your website to collect all of the data? Or maybe a link to a Google Document? Thanks again for your great work!
Why it is the only light with no PPFD Map ? :(
Cause it smokes his crap.
Great video mate what a light!!
mars hydro fc6500 I'd love to see
I was pretty impressed by the sp3000 👍
I am going to be moving over from 1000w 400v dimlux pro shortly to led. Best led fixture on the market please? Cost is not an issues quality and quantity are 😜
Wanted that light but too much money for me , bought the Mars fc6500 and glad I did , 4.5x4.5 room runs at 23 celsius almost too cold !
i suggest u to raise your amb temp to 27 c at least! those missing infrared are keeping your leaf temp too low for an optimal growth
@@orsosiorsono1 That's with just the lamp , I run 3 , 4 foot t5 LEDs on three walls horizontal to prevent larf and popcorn and that brings it to 26c , still unreal because I couldn't keep a 600 watt hps below 32c and a 630 CMH @ about the same , I could have run the 6500 !
Hey Shane, great review as usual, really appreciate the effort! I've just got a new "Invisible Sun ISH530 Eclipse". It's my second fixture from them and again, I'm really impressed with the quality. I'm no expert, and I have no tools to measure the output, but it seems like a beast. I'm interested what you think about the specs of the fixture (advertised as 2.9 umols/J) , and also would love to see you test one! Keep up the informative work, many thanks!
For the money you pay for his boards you might as well buy the genuine lights with the better chips from one of HLG's UK distributors
@@HorticulureLightingGroupEurope yes and that's why id like to see a light tested, every company claims to have the best products, even the scorpion Shane says is actually 2.7 . I like the independent tests not so much the advertising.
@@HorticulureLightingGroupEurope Are you saying that invisible sun sell knock off samsung chips? or are you saying that samsung keep a secret stash of higher quality chips exclusively for HLG?
@@swankzilla I'm saying HLG has an exclusive partnership with Samsung, they get access to Samsung's brightest LEDs (Samsung build the Diablo boards and works closely with HLG), so when I read on Invisible sun site that his chips are 2.9umol I know he is talking poop, as he does not access to those chips.
He is clearly cashing in on the fact the average person has no way to test his claims, and he is cashing in on HLG QB fame whilst tricking people into buying an inferior product, hence I buy from HLG as they are reputable, and they have the lab reports proving the scorpion is legit 2.93umol/j, even Shane said he cannot see this light being beat for a long time, so you have to wonder what magic chips does a small company like IS have?
awesome review! it’s the light i ended up picking . i’d be interested to see the numbers compared to the aelius brand
That thing is a beast, I need me one of them!
You need to do the Lux 645 and compare to this light The lux lighting is coming up in California
Any thoughts or previous vids on the sylstar units? I've been looking at the 220w with Samsung led and meanwell, seems good value at £175 + shipping.. cant decide between that and viparspectra xs2000 or your Aray 4.
Appreciate any input, thanks
Im wondering about the penetration of hlg 650r if you have to hang it 30" above canopy vs other lights like the scorpion diablo or gavita 1700
Great review again
just got one based on ur review, thanks
Hey Shayne, have you checked out Scynce LED? I don't think they'd win on pure ppfd/watt but their spectrum tuning tech is industry leading.
Spot on 100% True....! HLG Best in Class - LED
10+% shortfall in output?
I read that the variation is less than 3% for the known brands.
@@heywoodjablome5630 you would be correct. Nowhere in the history of Samsung leds has there been a fucking 20% drop off in effiencey from diode to diode.
Its like this folks. Pick a company you wanna support. And buy the light. All this shit IS SOOOO comparable, that ita really boiling down to grower talent on who can do the best . seriously these fanboys will tell you this and that bla bla bla. Facts are this. Samsung makes a helluva led diode. A million light companies use those diodes. Fucking pick a company you wanna support and fire that bitch up. Dam people.
@@SouthernSilverExchange yep! My understanding was the diablo boards are all Samsung chips. None by Osram. If this is true diablo boards exist as a Samsung marketing device as the red Osram and the red Samsung diodes are quite comparable in quality from what I understand.
@@SouthernSilverExchange diode is not everything
Mind if I ask to have you comment on a set up with -16 Diablo vs 24 GeekBeast be able to be compared. Looking for roughly 400sqft of space. Awesome looking light!
Nice, I’d like to see the new PAR+ pro tested, think it might be a contender!
Migro, where is PPFD Map? I suspected to see real test with readings. But,...
Please tell me the best LED for a 4x4 No expense spared?????
Shane, I'm disappointed again, where is the PAR map???????????? I know you did the test you showed it in the video, please put it up. For me the most important stats of any light is the PAR map, the more evenly spread the more I would consider buying it. Test or design a light with no hot spot and I will be the first in line to buy it. They do not have a PAR map on the HLG web site, so it's really important that you amend this video with the results of your PAR test.
I'm with you they post everything but the par map.. not necessarily migro but hlg doesn't either. Everything but that. And thats what I want to know
Just got 600r yesterday
Enjoyed. Thanks, have a great day
Beautiful brother ❤ best channel ever
sounds like an awesome light
Good job, thats a big! efficient light!
Great stuff!! ALWAYS!!! 💚🙌
Would like to see the Meijiu 480w. They’re cheap but not sure about their efficiency.
A guy I know has one and wants the hgl
His broke
Wow still nice 1 yr later
The only US labor on an HLG is loading the Japanese LED board stuffers and putting quantum boards into a shipping. box. The LEDs and
and PC board are all made overseas.
As if the 650 r wasnt good enough damn i just bought the rspec then i bought the 650 r now i gotta go get this, whats next hlg
Can you do grower choice 720 ? I’m interested in that one or this one here not sure which to pick yet
