Gavita haven't given any word on whether the CT 2000e will be upgradable in the future. The diodes on the fixture like most LEDs is rated for 50,000 hours of use.
We reached out to Gavita directly for an answer and they said: "So ideally 90cm but we have had experience with them hung as low as 60cm with established plants"
The CT 2000e has a square footprint so if you've got significant headroom this space will be fine. But in a 2m tall tent for example you could struggle to get even light coverage on the edges of your grow, and would need 2 lights for the space.
Gavita themselves claim that the CT 2000e puts out 25% less heat than a 1000W HPS. Though our own experts said they felt it was at least half as hot. If you're based in the UK we have display units at our Merton and Dudley shops.
I'm afraid we've only got displays in those 2 shops at the moment. We do have plans to get a display in each shop eventually but this won't happen soon.
@@growell The fixture produces 25% less heat, meaning that when figuring out your HVAC loads you can expect 25% less sensible heat load in the space, when compared to a 1000W DE HPS. THe reason it feels so much less hot is due to the different way the tech produces the light. With HPS, it produces a lot of radiant heat, that is directed downwards. Where as the LEDs have very little radiant heat, because the heat is collected by the heat sink and then pushed into the atmosphere via convection.
A controller isn't included with the fixture, so you'll need to buy one separately if you plan to use one with it. We sell the Gavita CT 2000e for £1049.95 currently: www.growell.co.uk/grow-lights/led-grow-lights/gavita-ct-2000e-led-grow-light-780w.html But we unfortunately don't ship outside the UK.
Similar in power to the Gavita CT 2000e is the Adjust-A-Wings Hellion LED 700W: www.growell.co.uk/grow-lights/led-grow-lights/adjust-a-wings-hellion-vs3-led-grow-lights.html But the Gavita has a superior PPF of 2000umol/s compared to the Adjust-A-Wings 1850umol/s. Alternatively you could look at 1000W LED's. The Hellion LED has a 1000W variant or you could look at the Lumatek Zeus Xtreme: www.growell.co.uk/grow-lights/led-grow-lights/lumatek-zeus-xtreme-ppfd-co2-led-grow-light-1000w.html Though the PPF you get out of the 1000W variants is a big leap from Gavitas 2000umol/s to 2925umol/s from the Zeus Xtreme. It's a tough decision but for the 700W range we'd go with the Gavita CT 2000e and in the 1000W range we'd go for the Zeus Xtreme. However the Hellion LEDs do allow you to tweak the kind of light emitted whereas the others don't.
The CT 1930e is the North American variant of the CT 2000e which is available in Europe. The CT 2000e has a slightly more powerful driver, hence the 2000 vs 1930 in their names.
Are the leds replaceable/upgradable and what is the life span?
Gavita haven't given any word on whether the CT 2000e will be upgradable in the future.
The diodes on the fixture like most LEDs is rated for 50,000 hours of use.
You’re grandchildren could still be potentially using the LEDs with about just about 3-5% loss in efficacy.
What is the minimum height off the canopy for this light?
We reached out to Gavita directly for an answer and they said:
"So ideally 90cm but we have had experience with them hung as low as 60cm with established plants"
What size of tray can this light cover. I have heard up to 6x4 area if the height is high enough.
Well the spread for the CT 2000e isn't as wide or long as 6m x 4m. It’s 1.8m x 1.2m so a 1.5 x 1.5m space is ideal.
@@growell I should have been more clear. I was referring to feet! So at 1.8m x 1.2m that should do it. Thank you for the information.
How many would you need for a 1.8m x 1.1m room

Is there a par map available please ?
Frustratingly Gavita haven't released a PAR map of the CT 2000e.
Though they claim it's similar the PAR maps of their 1000W HPS lights.
Compared to the gavita1000w hps light is there a lot less heat from these new led lights?

The CT2000e does radiate some heat downwards, certainly much more than most LED fixtures, but you're right. Those heat sinks do a great job.
When will these be available in in the USA?
We don't have any US shops I'm afraid, I'd recommend contacting Gavita directly to see when this will Launch state side.
What is the price for this gavita lamp in Europe? this controllers, do I need to pay extra for them or they come in packaging with lamp?

quite shitty led growlight... The worst spyder would perform much better inside a tent... Even in comercial grows they are pretty bad...
