I own the myshelter and its definitely one of my favorite budget jackets. Like you mentioned its got an almost poncho like look which has a pretty unique way of letting the sky liquids flow right off lol
I have the Orbitgear W101-J, and I'm very happy with it. We had some very rough weather over the last few weeks in Germany, and the jacket endured heavy rain and wind like a champ. Its not as insulationg as my north face one and when it gets colder than 5 degrees it gets chilly in the W101. But overall, it became my favorite jacket very quickly. So I'd say it's very worth the money (and shipping taxes) even so sometimes it really does look like a cheaper acronym.
me too i have that jacket as well! i love it and the w110J as well. Sadly i bought the w120-J hunter shell mk2 and i didnt realize it was oversized so currently have an unused Large size w120-J Hunter Shell mk2 (trying to sell it) cant return it since i got it from a sale :(. I also own 2 orbitgear pants and love both the explorer and w031-p crop pant as well
Got myshelter an year ago for great deal like 70% off. Its one size bigger than other adidas jacket and even then its oversized but i was aware from reviews and ordered correct size. Its not really breathable, it doesnt withstand heavy rain either, collar is really high, bottom is way too open so it doesnt protect you well against wind, inside pocket is too small for many current smartphones. Its definitely city jacket not something you want to wear outdoors. BUT I love the looks, it does look modern, technical, futuristic with cutouts at the bottom and braces, it works great especially with cargos and other rather loose fitting pants. It has plenty negatives I still dig it and would buy it again.
I've got the W120-J, I've had it for nearly a year now and I can say for what it's worth its a good jacket. I'd rather get this over the #techwear stuff or something that is ridiculously expensive, might say its an acronym clone but if you want an acronym jacket but cant afford it this is a great alternative as it provides the looks and similar functionality.
I like the way the W120 looks on the body versus the cut of the myshelter. Own a W110 so biased, but now that it's light winter here with more winds and ice than snow, I find it actually quite nice to layer over my RAB microlight alpine puffer so I get the warmth and wind/water resistance. The hood seems to be be different than the 120 as I can comfortably wear two hoods whether it's a hoodie or other mid layer hood with the orbitgear hood no problem
Get out of my head ANT. My Orbit Gear 'wearables' just shipped, I had decided to give a couple pieces a shot. I like the company, and the two I picked up use textiles that Orbit designed and had manufactured in Indonesia. (elecorFREE offer advanced technical properties like Quick Drying, Moisture Wicking, 4 Way Stretch, Abrasion Resistance & Water Repellent) Both in a light green I grabbed the W200-J "OV Spear Noragi" and W011-P "OV Explorer Pants". That said I purposefully chose two pieces that looked unique. A lot of their clothing looks like ACR lite and honestly the pieces I picked up are intended to supplement the few ACR pieces I do have.
I would go for myshelter because it tends to be on bargain price more often than orbtigear one's and the personality and more functional basic features are better in my opinion comapred to orbitgear jacket
Big issue with the MyShelter in my experience is very sticky zippers, and some issues with waterproofing not being that great unfortunately. They look so cool, and the shape is very nice, I just wish it had better quality construction.
I ended up picking up the Adidas rain jacket (although the non-Parley one you showcased as it was sold out) based on your video. It was a lot nicer than I expected it to be AND it was on sale for £110 (from £170). I still find the oversized styling a little weird (especially the lower shoulder seams) but was pleasantly surprised it had a double zip. Overall, WINNING!
I own a Orbitgear jacket too and I really like the jacket. It wasn't that expensive but is not cheaply made. I like the features of the jacket and it looks good. I just think it's a shame that they don't really have their own design language, cuz most of the hate comes from people that say that orbitgear is just acronym cope. I understand that but not everybody has the money for a acronym jacket. I like my jacket but I think the people would accept Orbitgear way more if they stay with their current features but change the design
I have no idea how you come up with informative, funny, entertaining and just sick videos so often and consistently man. You should be proud of this chanel
Got both of them. I bought the myshelter for about 80 euro last year and got a W110-J last month for $150. They are sooo different which makes it hard to compare the two. Love them both though. Regarding the down-sides that you mentioned in the video: The adidas jacket that I got is all gray so no problems with lots of typing on it. Clean look, amazing boxy silhouette, you can find it a lot of times heavily discounted. It's super easy to recommend. On the other hand, my orbit jacket has a detachable hoodie and it sits perfectly on my head, not dragging the shoulders. Also when it's on my back it keeps a very neat shape so I'd say orbit did a very fine job with the way they designed it. The fixed hoodie you got doesn't seem to be on the same level with the detachable version. Getting the adidas it's definitely more convenient and cheaper(often on sale) as you can find at lots of retailers in europe. But the orbit jacket is sooooo worth it honestly! Even though it will end up being more expensive as you'll need to deal with import taxes, I'd recommend to give Orbit a shot. I also own an R-201 from them and they're both top notch.
Important thing to consider when buying Orbit Gear stuff on a budget is the shipping/handling. I ordered a pair of pants for €200~ and ended up getting stuck with an additional €50 for shipping (to the EU).
I never would have thought that I would subscribe to a channel where I was actually just looking for a review of a specific product. But your way of speaking is so relaxed and informative. So, new subscriber from Germany here (:
So boys i saw this video and was rel interested in the myshelter jacket right. I actually ended up finding a parka from this years collection on sale. Definitely think this is an awesome entry piece being my first jacket. Thanks for the great suggestions ant
The W230 is VERY much "We have Acronym at home." But at that price & quality it's definitely worth it if you're all in for the aesthetic. That said like the just straight up function over form of the MyShelter. Reminds me of my Army Gortex I was issued but without all the extra space to fit over gear & helmets. I don't mind Orbitgear ripping off Acronym's design language but it's very much, "Sure copy my homework. Just change it up a bit." I'd love to see them do something in a similar design language that's all their own.
Man talk about time for a 'The Fly' teleporter accident, I love the Adidas boxy cut and the collar / hood detail, but the Orbitgear large bottom-zip and back expansion zips are very my thing 😅
Have had the myshelter jacket for 2 nearly 3 years now and I love it. It has its problems but I feel like it was worth every penny. Also I actually sized down one size. Great video ❤️
@@ThisIsAntwon yes, I have quite a long upper body so i usually wear a size xl to get the right length, but i find i like the jacket a bit shorter so i sized down to L.
I've had Orbit's W110-J BK for about a year now, and i really like it honestly, I usually alternate between wearing it, or Riot Division's Ultimate City Jacket depending on what i'm doing. The 110's got a lot of similar features that the W120 has, but the hood is actually detachable. I usually stash the hood in a messenger bag, and wear it open like a bomber jacket with a uniqlo hoodie underneath it. Has that futuristic look, but also gives it a bit of an urban grungy vibe imo.
Would love to see you review the OrbitGear Spear Noragi! (I've personally got a W110-J MK2 and the Olive Spear Noragi on the way.) Maybe you can negotiate for OrbitGear to send you one of those to review as well?
I’m biased to Adidas, but ACRNYM at home is fine too, since I’ll probably never afford the real deal lol. Also I actually finally saw someone with the XGXF Land Combat Groud jacket irl. I cracked up so hard.
I said this before but the Everlane ReNew Storm Jacket. You can't get it anymore, but it was like 50$ for a fairly basic but technical material jacket. Fit was pretty great too.
Although I don't own this exact orbitgear jacket, I have purchased a jacket from them before; the w201-J cordura overshirt. Although it could be considered more on the affordable side, I honestly regret spending so much money on it. Initially, all the cool features and materials and everything really appealed to me, but after wearing it for a while i just didnt like it all that much. From the second time i used the jacket strap the fabric loop inside the jacket that the strap connected to just came clean off, it wasnt sewn securely in the slightest. I found this to be the case with a lot of the other random features too, they feel like orbitgear are just trying to fill their jackets with cool looking features without making sure they really work right. That experience, along with the huge amount of customs tax I had to pay for it just made me really regret the purchase. I do own an orbitgear messenger bag which i LOVE so i know they do their bags right, i just dont think I'll be buying or recommending any of their clothing items any time soon
Ah that sucks about the jacket! I haven't seen any issues construction-wise like that but I definitely agree with your overall sentiment on features being prioritised.
Have u tried contacting them? Their customer service is great and will do repair for it. I own like 4-5 orbit jackets including the cordura u mentioned never have that kinds of problem tho. Their built is durable
@Geth you're right! Its honestly my fault for not contacting them about this. The orbitgear team actually reached out to me after seeing my response to apologize and replace the jacket. I'm honestly really impressed by their response, and I should have just gone to them first about this 😅
@@corvae3 true, their customer service and support are the best! Despites all pros and cons about design, they ll actually helped out their customers and see the issues until its done.
I'll share my experience with the Orbitgear W120-J. I bought it about a month ago when it came back in stock. The fit and the aesthetic are nice for the price point ($150 on sale+shipping). The hood design is lacking in terms of stowage. If you don't want the hood on the outside of the jacket, your only option is to fold it down against the back of the collar, which is not the best in terms of storing it. There's no way to secure it in place under the collar. It would've been far better if they'd had a zippered pouch in the back of the collar so the hood could be rolled up and stored in there. By far though, my biggest disappointment with the W120-J is that after having it for only a month and not having worn it more than 4 times, today the main zipper tape on the right side suddenly frayed at the hem line and separated from the seam. This happened right above the secondary zipper pocket on the right side of the jacket. Its the kind of fraying that is only going to get worse, and I'll need to look into having the zipper replaced, which I suspect is going to probably cost me as much or more than what I paid for the jacket to begin with. When you consider that the W120-J retails for something like $230 new, a main zipper failure in less than 5 uses is unacceptable. Compared to the 5.11 Approach jacket, which retails for $210 (Currently $174 at the time of this posting) you're getting a much better technical garment. The W120-J does not have taped seams inside while the Approach jacket does. You will be sacrificing much of the pseudo-Acronym aesthetic with the 5.11, but you'll still get many of the same features with better implementation. The Approach jacket also has two side zippers that run from the hem to under the armpit and clip fasten at the bottom, so you could use it in the same way to slip a bag under the jacket. The seams on the Approach jacket are all fully taped where the W120-J's internal seams are not. My biggest gripe about the Approach jacket is the size of the hood, which seems to be sized to fit over a ballistic helmet and is absolutely huge on its own, tho this does get a little more manageable if you have a hat on under it. TL;DR If you want that Acronym inspired aesthetic at an affordable price, get the Orbitgear W120-J. If you want a solid bit of technical fit minus the aesthetics get the 5.11 Approach jacket.
I just bought the adidas jacket following your recommendations. I didn't buy the exact same model but the more recent version i believe ( MYSHELTER PARLEY RAIN.RDY) which was also on sale ( 140€). And they corrected some down side that you mentioned. They added a second zip to open from the bottom. Also one of the interesting point that i don't remember you mentioning is the ability to fold the hood which is something that i always search for in a anorak. Anyways glad i followed your recommendation. Best regards
Ah nice! Hope you like it, and glad to hear they added a double zip. I did mention the packable hood but only extremely briefly near the end of the video so I'd forgive you for missing it
Would be cool to see someone switch the w120 hoodie and sling with a different jacket to bettter compare with the my shelter jacket also prefer the my shelter jacket better cause death stranding jacket vibes
I own a myshelter jacket, but I am not a big fan of a really tall neck collar since is rises above my chin, does anyone have any solutions to that? I tried to "roll" it into both inside and outside directions but the material is a bit too stiff to stay in place I figured, maybe get it to a tailor to shorten it so it lays under my chin?
I had the W110-J Uranus colour changing jacket. The sizing just didn't work for me. The arms were too short and the hood wasn't for me at all. I loved the design and the features, however the fit was off. Maybe if I sized up it would have been better, but don't think that would have solved the hood issue. What I found frustrating was Orbit Gear cargos are some of the best fitting and comfortable cargos I own. They really are very very good. So I was really disappointed in the jacket. I would like to get a W120 in the future in elecor fabric but would have to size up.
Can you make about Decathlon? I have a feeling that they have some pieces that could add something to a tech wear outfit. Plus their stuff is pretty affordable.
I have an Adidas my shelter 4 in 1 parka and always ask my girlfriend if she thinks Antwon would like this jacket! Glad to see you review one similar, maybe I'm cool now!
Maybe not strictly techwear, but I managed to get a BNWT steep tech apogee for £110 on depop. Seems like one of the only times depop has had the best price on something
I own J1W, and want something as an alternative to it, so I am going for Lululemon Outpour StretchSeal Jacket. 249$, waterproof, breathable, non-cringy design and still delivers on the functionality.
I own both of these jackets and came to the exact same conclusion that you did in this video. Orbit gear has some jackets that are less cope, but also less cool in my opinion.
While I think that the Myshelter is what I would take in black vs black, the releases Orbitgear has done in white are something I would definitely want to pick up if they do it again
can you talk more about Krakatau!! just got a jacket and im totally out of my mind with the functionalities!! also always liked your hamus vids or whatever that alien lore brand was called!
I have the myshelter LDN and it's my favourite jacket. It's longer than the normal myshelter and has side zips so you can convert it into a poncho, mega star wars vibes. I just wish adidas would stop with the shiny reflective details. I buy black/ grey because I don't want to be seen.
Adidas x Parley MyShelter all day, have one, it has more of it's own identity, regularly match it with my Parley x Ultra 4D Uncageds, a basic sweater or black t-shirt and a good pair of black or dark green cargo's
CCP jackets from Japan are decent, you can catch them in the sales for about this price or maybe a little more. I'd pick the Adidas if forced to in relation to these two though.
Hey, respect for your work, but probably "affordable" is not the word that oyu should be using with 240$ clothing, even if it is not on the expensive side for techwear in general.

Hi Antwon, can u tell me if you know some good quality under 200 euro Jackets for autumn, spring, (for temperatures 5-17*C) ??
Have you seen the new supreme pac lite gortex jacket?
I just bought the adidas jacket following your recommendations. I didn't buy the exact same model but the more recent version i believe ( MYSHELTER PARLEY RAIN.RDY) which was also on sale ( 140€). And they corrected some down side that you mentioned. They added a second zip to open from the bottom. Also one of the interesting point that i don't remember you mentioning is the ability to fold the hood which is something that i always search for in a anorak. Anyways glad i followed your recommendation. Best regards
Ah nice! Hope you like it, and glad to hear they added a double zip.
I did mention the packable hood but only extremely briefly near the end of the video so I'd forgive you for missing it
@@ThisIsAntwon Also worth mentioning that i they released a white version which changes from the typical all black look
Great use for techwear: Raves.
Seriously, they should start focusing techno and festival lovers 🤘🏼
MyShelter kinda underrated, especially for beginners! 🙏
Agreed!
Would be cool to see someone switch the w120 hoodie and sling with a different jacket to bettter compare with the my shelter jacket also prefer the my shelter jacket better cause death stranding jacket vibes
You mention getting an L in the Orbit Gear. What's your height and weight? I'm a bit pudgy at 260 lbs and 5 foot 11.
Ah that's a shame - yeah, I had to check the measurements before ordering and it looked pretty small. At least the cargos are good!
I have the my-shelther jacket in olive green and it's a perfect jacket to my tech hear collection will be picking up a black one as well.
You didn't review the nike tech series fyi
Can you make about Decathlon? I have a feeling that they have some pieces that could add something to a tech wear outfit. Plus their stuff is pretty affordable.
A good one for some gorpcore content for sure
I have an Adidas my shelter 4 in 1 parka and always ask my girlfriend if she thinks Antwon would like this jacket! Glad to see you review one similar, maybe I'm cool now!
Maybe not strictly techwear, but I managed to get a BNWT steep tech apogee for £110 on depop. Seems like one of the only times depop has had the best price on something
Ha! Had just commented about getting the MyShelter. I've already made the decision when I saw the long one.
4:30 Does Star Wars affect TechWear?
I own J1W, and want something as an alternative to it, so I am going for Lululemon Outpour StretchSeal Jacket. 249$, waterproof, breathable, non-cringy design and still delivers on the functionality.
Ooh nice! Lululemon doesn't see much wear but they've got some great stuff - I have a pair of running shorts which have been great
What size was the ACG trench coat you bought (I ask because we're of the same height and build)?
Size M!
@@ThisIsAntwon The real MPV you are.
Am I the only one that kinda enjoyed that mid-video cooking segment?
Adidas x Parley MyShelter all day, have one, it has more of it's own identity, regularly match it with my Parley x Ultra 4D Uncageds, a basic sweater or black t-shirt and a good pair of black or dark green cargo's
is the orbitgear waterproof actually
It is . Tried it on heavy rain
As a cook myself, I enjoyed the cooking segment. 🙏
But can you fit an USC AT-AT into this jacket???
@lego pls send me one so I can find out
that orbitgear jacket sold out fast for an item that isn't listed anywhere on their site I look forward to it arriving
I can't find it anymore either... sad. :(
Just stumbeled upon this. Love the cooking section. Could you maybe like... start a second channel that is just about cooking? Maybe...?
the myshelter is pretty dope
you could get a Mammut Gore-Tex jacket for the same price. witch I feel like is a better quality jacket. and it doesn't look as hideous
Took me an hour to watch a cool 14 minute video thank you ADHD
Great review, Antwon.
Where is the Nike acronym jacket review??
Next week!
@@ThisIsAntwon thanks you!! Cant wait to see it!!
Addidas.. Im almost as tall as antwon and know how uncomfortable jackets feel when not sown right
the myshelter is extremely good looking. acronym at home for 105$ ? we take those
CCP jackets from Japan are decent, you can catch them in the sales for about this price or maybe a little more. I'd pick the Adidas if forced to in relation to these two though.
got my my shelter for 2 years and love it
@@timom.5607 im 183 and got M too. I got both M & L to try out and L was defo too big. S is certainly not an options. I havent worn S for ages :)
I already have a w120 and I hate adidas, so I'd buy a Nike misery ridge goretex jacket.
My Shelter all day
cooking show when
Hey, respect for your work, but probably "affordable" is not the word that oyu should be using with 240$ clothing, even if it is not on the expensive side for techwear in general.
Putting in a request for more food videos
Hey, Long Dongus Group sounds like my brand! In my dreams... :D
Strong brand name for a strong aesthetic
Wait, are you also left handed?

At non-eye watering prices - looks at his Acronym jackets...
My eyes water a lot 😭

Affordable? I wouldn't be seen paying £250 for a jacket 😱
Day 2 of asking Antwon to stop using the Persona music
Hi 🐜🏆
Don't start a cooking channel, Antwon. Just sayin....
Please review holygrail clothing! Also amazing vid always glad to watch your reviews
Thanks! It's on the list 👀
@@ThisIsAntwon my pleasure! Glad to hear it'll be reviewed properly and i'll be able to have more info before buying😄
@@thedemonfoxofficial Holy Grail is great for constumey fun, that's the main audience. Warcore, Airsoft, Cyberpunk, M56, etc. It'll look great but if you want utility, I'll recommend something else. Also, they do custom sizing if you message I believe! I love my HG pants and would absolutely recommend them for having fun in the city and going really out there w your aesthetic - amazing statement piece, but I'd never take it exploring or on a hike, anything too serious.
@@beeeeeeeeeefff thank you so much!
Who the fuck said 250$ is cheap? Cheap is under 80$
Cheap as in richboy cheap.
250 bucks is affordable... sure.
Sorry? Since when 250 DOLLARS is affordable?
XD
Affordable 💀
damn I thought u were a brocel
Despite my collection of female-repelling jackets I managed to ascend
adidas one looks like a garbage bag
Hmmm. Tough choice. Do I want to look like a boring twat or..... a boring twat?
