Portable toilets sound good, but my family was in the business. It was fine when the treatment plants that process sewage would take our waste, but then they stopped and we had to find land to rent that we could dump on, then the government started getting picky about what land we could use, and started requiring that we mixed lime in the waste before dumping- we had to premix the lime powder with water and had to install storage tanks and mixers in our storage building- plus the tank trucks, maintenance on those trucks, the portable units themselves, then there are different kinds of units like oversized handicap units that need a trailer to be able to move them, hand washer units, heater units, then you need a place to store them, we also had a custom trailer made that we could haul 8 units for local events where they wanted multiple- and we would have to go get them at midnight after those events so people didn't vandalize them, plus don't forget you have to clean them once a week. $500 a month sounds nice but there's a lot of expenses to support that business. Once the government started making it difficult to get rid of the waste we got out, so do your due diligence before getting into that busniess
Wow, great info! Thank you for sharing.
I understand but couldn’t you like any other business pass those expenses on your consumers?
As someone looking to get into the business I’d imagine that if you’re competitive regarding pricing and monthly services that a General Contractor who’s bidding a 5 million dollar project is going to need portable toilets on their site.
Now if you’re just starting out and can’t be competitive on a massive project then I can understand.
But to me it’s all about running numbers and knowing your competitors in the market you’re operating your business in to determine your risk factor and assessing your cash flow.
Question about number two what do you do with the carcass after you pick it up?

How do you run a junk removal business without actually doing it
I use independent contractors, similar to Uber. When a job comes in I send it to a driver in the area and they go do the work.
@@timrichardbusiness how do you find such people just so you know I'm 48 I've done nothing but bust my ass my whole life I live in the country and this is all new to me. I always thought to start something I have to physically do it. I've learned so much in the last year but still confuses me some
Hi John. I have another video on my channel explaining how to find and hire the contractors who do the work. Hopefully that will answer some of your questions.
