I have no doubt that you have been successful, but you cannot deny that a model like Pink's, which has grown to a million-dollar business in only a few years, is a great way to maximize earning potential.
Just found your channel. As a newly single dad for a couple years at 40, trying to actually swim instead of live paycheck to paycheck, this episode and others I’m sure will help me build confidence and understand more: thanks.
Great message. And kudos to Mike Rowe for hosting the first show I can recall that paid homage to the working man. Let's make America do honest work again.

A good number of people discredit the effectiveness of financial advisors in exploring new markets, but over the past 10years I’ve had a financial advisor consistently restructure and diversify my portfolio/expenses and I’ve made over $1.2m in gains… might not be a lot but i'm financially secure.
My CFA 'Grace Adams Cook' , a renowned figure in her line of work. I recommend researching her credentials further. She has many years of experience and is a valuable resource for anyone looking to navigate the financial market.
I love them as well. Most channels and websites for business just repeat “dropshipping, print on demand, Amazon FBA, and affiliate marketing”. It is nice to see a channel that shows the other side.
The uniforms (and personalities) that say "I'm professional but don't take life too seriously" are absolutely brilliant. Also that van wrap is so sexy, I want it on a poster. I'm in love.

This intrigues me. I've looked up financial advisors online, but finding one to connect with is a bit difficult. Do you mind if I ask for your recommendation??
This is probably the very best business you have covered. One of my mentors recommends this exact business. It will be very compelling to hear how you end up doing in it.
So true, showing up and doing a good job is not that common anymore. Easy to excel. Also agreed people always need service people ( roofs, gutters, cleaners, electricians, plumbers, mechanics, pest control )
Codie. You point of view is indeed contrarian and that excites me a lot. I know you're more focused on the US context (which makes sense)... However, do you think your courses and other offers might be suitable for you African audience? I really really fell in love with 'being an owner in a world of renters'. And If Africa needs a revolution I believe the Africans becoming owner of african business/african profit machines is the greater one.
I find it funny when you see the headline say they started a business with only $500 for example and afterwards tell you can do the same. So come be apart of our franchise but you will need $50,000-$150,000. I looked into Codie’s franchises and the barrier to entry($$$$) is definitely not accessible to those who are passionate about owning their own business but lack the amount of capital the franchise is requiring.
Both are true. You can start a cleaning biz for $500, or you can join one of Codie's franchises for $50k+. They are completely different biz models. Choose your own adventure.
Yeah bro its logically, you start on your own, its not that easy like when you become everything from them, Clients, cleaning tips, How to find customers or they cold call it for you, and everything thats a franchise brother, i start now on my own, and i will succeed ❤❤
With the franchise you have a system that's already built for you. The marketing , the invoicing system, the leads, it's all there. You can always build your own from scratch.
I started my own residential window cleaning company but I failed in the 08 crash. I had no perspective on market fluctuations. When financial belts tightened my service was ready to go without and I wasn't ready.
Judging by most of the comments... no one here else has actually started and ran a window cleaning business.. its not as easy and wildly scalable as they are claiming here. Used to dig her content but man, so . much. cap. You have to scratch, crawl, beg your way to keep a full calendar cleaning glass. Yes its good revenue when the schedule is full, but you'll be selling non-stop 7 days a week to keep a full book. You'll spend stupid money marketing. Most window cleaners will average 85-115 per man hour worked ( key word worked), take out drive time, setup/tear downs, etc. Eateries (chilis', Applebees, chickfila type places are 40-50 bucks per cleaning. How long do you think it really takes to clean one of those? Hint: its more than an hour. Not saying there isn't decent money to be made, its not a get rich quick or easily scaleable model, just more of this hype cap hopium the gurus are pumping. Yes you can spend 100 bucks in cheap squeegees and go clean some windows today. You will NOT get a sports stadium with cheap hand tools. We passed on a few medium commercial jobs for mid rise 3-4 story buildings because their insurance requirements would have made our policy increase more than the price of the cleaning itself. 4-5k jobs because the additional insurance coverages were near $4000. Don't quit your day job folks.
I'm in window install and I was thinking exactly this, half way thru and I'm waiting for her to post a P&L report and talk about net inflows and outflows and man hours for the business.
Exactly. I started and ran a window cleaning business myself and some of the info here is just straight up false. She seems like a nice and smart person so I don’t get why she posts the clickbait. And nothing wrong with a little clickbait, but this is just straight up lying.
The video is good but goes into very little detail. She's good at selling the happy go lucky stuff because she part owns this business and wants to franchise it. She ain't going to tell you all the bad stuff that goes with running an exterior cleaning business.
@@christophercox936 Don't white knight simpy no one respects you when you do, women don't like it they'll NEVER give you any sexual desire points for it and men look down on men who do it.
Great video. I provide pressure washing for driveways, sidewalks, and decks. Maybe I should add this to my service. I just started my business. It's growing but not enough to quit my 40 hours a week job.
I know a lot of pressure washers that add window cleaning especially if you get their windows dirty you just add a little extra great way to start either or
Absolutely! I highly recommend you try to stick to exterior only cleaning. When you get inside is where it can get tricky. Very easy to drip on expensive carpet (especially if you have hired employees) or damage a chochkee that the old ladies like to keep on their window sills. Also, older people (whom I actually love working for) can get very talkative and make it really difficult for you to get in and out. And God help you if you have a 3 story interior window or skylight that they insist on having cleaned (especially when the sun comes through that window at sunrise or sunset and you left a streak that can only be seen when the sun comes through the window, but you have an OCD customer that makes you come back out and reclean it for free…
Total Investment $128,000 - $166,500 Initial Investment Why not go to Home Depot and buy a bucket, squiggeez, and towels for under $500? I understand that you get their clientele and all the backend hustle, but if you can do the upfront hustle of going after it, it's $500 vs 150k+ for window cleaning.
That is how you do it. They think like I do. Though I would not select black as the color because that makes you sweat more. Definitely not a black cap 🧢 Lighter colors absolutely.
I am sorry, but I have my own company 😉 But remember 👍 Don’t punish yourself or your people with black clothes or shoes! They look fantastic, but they are miserable to wear when the sun ☀️ comes out. If your car is black and your cars interior is black then first take the BBQ sauce with you for your 🍑 😱 White. Always white with the gears. Hiring people is different. You want the people who are willing to learn!
Problem with this us you need pure water not tap or you get water marks. Tried setting up with no money with buckets soap brushes etc but when you need reverse osmosis for the water you need water fed poles connected to a tank in a van! Little more than £150
I love the idea about cleaning the windows for free. I’ve done that to break into neighborhood or a shopping center. I couldn’t get my foot in the door. The only thing I left out I never recorded it and put it on Facebook or Instagram. Thanks for the idea.❤😊
