+jason johnson it is still work. It might not be boots in the mud, or hard labor but it is still a form of work. You can still appreciate things and give credit where it is due even though it might not be on the same caliber as your standards.
people have different meanings of work when they either 1. hate what they do and try to compare their job to the next mans or 2. just dont understand the music world and yea it is fun but its definitley time consuming
Honorable of you Pharrell to always your musical partner and close friend Chad!! Both of you play essential roles to all those wonderful tracks you've created.
Chad Hugo needs to release a solo album of just instrumental songs. I bet that shit would go so hard. It could go in any direction with how diverse his sound is.
3:57~ good to see Pharrell saying 'all 3 of us' and giving some credit to Chad. Justin should respect Chad more, Neptunes isn't just Pharrell, but Chad plays a big role too.
I was 18 when NERD first album came out... that album changed my life in a real way. I'm 37 now... Pharrell made music so great for young me for so many years
Growing up in Virginia Beach and to know these two made it from the same streets I was running round defined a big part of who I am. They were the catalyst to my love of music, fashion, and they laid the foundation for us southern kids to just be as different as we wanted to. The Neptunes changed my whole life man, and that made me love who I was for the first time as a youngin. So if they ever see this thank you so much. Hopefully I'll be able to jam out with them one day, I've got a lot of work to put in...
@@buunyyhopp well I am 34, just retired and I just started working on my first musical project of my life. I have some new leather designs for Louis Vuitton that I’ve been holding onto for years. Ready to life in the energy of freedom from here on in.
I love Pharrell and Chad, man. They inspire me in my music. I remember growing up and wanting to be Chad Hugo more than Pharrell. I didn't know why at the time, but I think I understand why now. He's does so much work and does not need all the plaudits for it. It's so humbling and admirable.
I wanna see this happen with Tyler, Earl and Frank, talking about coming up collaboratively as Odd Future but also taking their own routes sonically and following their path to where they are today.
same here that's my favorite song on the album I feel like Neptunes shine to during the whole album but it's a classic album I can play it start to finish
Best part of the interview is Pharrell checking Justin, making sure Chad got credit for working on "Girlfriend." P is always gonna protect his partner, who is a GOD DAMN LEGEND in this game, and don't let NOBODY tell you different.
as a younger kid watching one of my heroes (Tyler) sit there with his heroes so quiet really surprised me. Tyler is rarely ever quiet for 20 seconds let alone 11 minutes
yep the fusion quirky piano sounds by chad was incredible on that song u can find the 35 min video on it I watch it a lot u will see chad come in to help pharell and Justin as Justin described
JT is a douchebag...calling out tylers love for pharrell RIGHT THERE!! that would be a little embarresing and that stupid face jt makes when he says..almost as much as you love him!
Jt needa stfu lmao nobody care and idk why he keeps talking, there were questions that were directed to chad and pharrell. He conceited as hell acting like everything is about him, it’s a podcast not a damn justin timberlake interview
Damn, Lets Take a Ride is an amazing song. That whole album is 🔥... I like JT and timbaland but JT and Neptunes is magical. I seen videos here on RUclips where Pharrell and JT are sitting in front of each other and they're feeding off each others energy.
This is such a gift man. Last Night has become my favorite track from Justified. Aged beautifully. Would love to see JT, Tim and Danja have a discussion about FutureSex. - Beyoncé, Neptunes, Rich Harrison have a discussion about B’Day - Brandy and Darkchild have a discussion about Full Moon - Usher, Jermaine, Bryan-Michael and Jimmy Jam have a discussion about Confessions - Mariah and Walter have a discussion about Butterfly.
Idk who Scott Vener is. But I think it's super rad to see Tyler sitting there politickin with all the huge name artists and producers. Thats just dope to me.

To this day, no other JT album has hit as hard as that first one for me. I've been waiting for another Neptunes/JT collab on the level of that first one but sadly it doesn't seem like its going to happen.
This is a nice avenue of informed knowledge by and on the Neptunes especially coming from Timberlake, you can really feel the atmosphere based off the tranquility projected by them even Tyler in the room. Cool

But it's nice to see a real wholesome kind of freindship like that.
Uncle Bernard i used to feel like Pharrell was taking all the shine but i believe he has most of the ideas and chad edited them. Pharrell once said Chad is the Mr Spock to his Captain Kirk.

I really hope they talk about the process behind birthing the 'Neptunes sound'. Like how did the transition from their earlier production to 'Superthug' happen? And what was the inspiration behind the futuristic, spacey, unconventional sounds in their production? So many question I'd love to know the answers to.

To be fair to Justin, he did say he was speaking with Pharrell. Don’t think he meant it in a way to discredit Chad.
He has complimented Chad alot
Plus chad is so quiet lol nothing wrong w it but I bet you if he was less of an introvert, he would probably have more fame.
