  • Hello everyo...okay that's not my intro. Nor is that epic Unicorn Heads song my normal lead-in. But hey, when you miss a party invite, you have to let everyone know when you show up anyway!
    Using the RandomGaminginHD v. Iceberg Tech build-off as a springboard to make our own e-waste monster gaming PC, and for a real purpose, no less. Check out what the used market has to offer, the value of a dollar (or pound, even though that's a unit of weight...) on the secondary market, and maybe be inspired to put together a cheap-as-chips powerhouse yourself.

      Mad respect for that deal!
      I have an i7-7800X that I picked up cheap off AliExpress to play with, once this combo comes back my way.

      Thank you twice over!
      This was all shot on my trusty Nikon D3300, but I’ve recently upgraded and will hopefully continue to improve both my technique and finished quality 😁

    cant say this was really fair considering the difference between markets but i cant say that the build isnt extremely impressive

    Question...
    Is this CPU performing better than a E5-2696 ? I cant seem to find any comparisons

    • @doesitgame
      @doesitgame  Месяц назад

      Which version of the E5-2696? There’s a v2 (Ivy Bridge) and a v3 (Haswell) AFAIK, and they’re very different CPUs.
      Depends on the specific workload. The 7820X will handily beat the 2696 v2 in anything. For the vast majority of workloads it will also beat the 2696 v3, unless your specific use case is capable of loading all 18 cores of the Xeon.

    how in the.. how did you get such a deal??

    • @doesitgame
      @doesitgame  4 месяца назад +1

      Patience, timing, luck….and having two people scouring the internet for a month lol
      It also helped immensely that this wasn’t put together blind. Knowing what Iceberg and RandomGaminginHD had built meant this video was only getting made if a build could be pieced together that would outperform both of them.

    Where do you get the mobo combo from for that cheap?

    • @doesitgame
      @doesitgame  4 месяца назад +1

      Reddit, though they pop up on eBay with similar deals from time to time. I missed one that was a mobo, 7800X, cooler, and quad channel RAM kit for like $115 shipped.
      Just setup a saved search for X299, and keep an eye on the ‘Ending Soonest’ sorting. There will always be goofballs listing them for like $480, and those never get any bids; the ones that sell move at very reasonable prices.

    Doesn't help we get screwed with higher hardware costs here in the UK thanks to tax and now Brexit. Enjoying your content!

      Ugh, yeah, you guys really do get the shaft over there. We have a cheaper primary market, and ultimately a better secondary market. You have to pay VAT on AliExpress purchases, too, don’t you?
      I freely admit the deck was *heavily* stacked in my favor here 😁

      Whoa, whoa, whoa…it’s barely doing 60fps on some AAA titles, let’s not get crazy chasing AAAAAAA titles like solitaire!

    I am trying to build a 200 dollars Gaming pc (excluding GPU)
    I5 8400 -$72
    H310 motherboard -$48
    16GB ddr4 single stick Ram-$24
    Transparent side Panel Cabinet with RGB Strip-$18
    I already have a Ssd so now give me a suggestion for 550watt power supply under 32 dollars.Because I have a RX580 8gb variant.

      Gonna depend pretty heavily on your local secondary market. The most common worthwhile PSUs I see locally that fit those requirements are Corsair CX series units, sometimes as low as $25 for like CX550Ms; but “locally” is also like 220,000 people within a twenty minute drive, so your situation may not be the same.
      If I were hunting on eBay, Corsair CX series, EVGA B series, and maybe some models from like CWT (they OEM for Corsair) would be on my watch list.
