Hagerty channel did a great track review and they said the new one is a perfect 86, basically they fixed all the issues of the previous generation. The extra sculpting they did on the new one makes it look more special and sporty imo. very keen to drive a mt version.
If the new 86 has DK's approval, it must be good. It is difficult to find newer global cars that aren't too tech infused/ isolated or too big/ heavy. That are affordable, I should add.
19:04 for sound comparison, the hose into the cabin or whatever the "old" 86 has is a so much better solution than the artificial sound in the GR86.. It sounds like an old Gran Turismo game, in the worst possible way. Same goes for the GR Yaris, they have the same strange tone added to them. I have no idea why. As much as I like the overall boost in performance for the 2nd Gen, the 1st Generation styling is a lot more unique and feels like it stands out more. 2nd Gen looks like every other sedan just as a coupe. Great car though.
@@1wasinAlpha Yeah right.... the GR86 is underrated from the factory, everybody who had put it on the dyno has the car come out to about 245hp or more, with more torque compares to the S2000. The GR86 and the new BRZ also pulled from the S2000 steadily stock for stock. Don't get me wrong, the S2000 was a great car, but the new GR86 is a great replacement for it, comes with a warranty, can sit 4 adults if needed, more horsepower, more torque, comes with the hardtop, and are affordable.
Maye I am too old school but I really don't like the all-display dashboard. I prefer the analog one or even the split ones with analogue and digital part. Though everything else is really appealing in the GR86. It sounds great, and looks well enough.
And I thought I was the only one with that opinion, I don't like that almost almost all new sportscars come with digital dash, ans some even force you to use the tach bar in sport mode instead of the dial.
it is what it is, I'd trade a good car with an analog gauge for a great car with digital gauges anyday, and I hate digital gauges. But the pros far outweigh the design of the gauges.
It would be great if you issue a new video portraying the new GR86 or ND2 testing the new Yokohama AD09, Bridgestone Potenza RE71RS, Falken RT660, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2, Zestino Gredge 07RS and Valino VR08GP.

Looks like the GR86 is a big improvement over the previous model. But the old model can also be greatly improved through modifications as well.
I'm glad they didn't go too crazy with the design. It has tasteful updates and still looks like an 86.

新型、立ち上がりの欲しい所のトルクが非常に良さそうだし、単に立ち上がりが良いだけでなく進入が速いってのも凄い。旧型のATのスポーツ走行での適正も素晴らしい。変速レスポンスしかり、連続周回に耐えてる事、スーチャーの過給込みでのパワーもきちんと伝えてる事、これって凄い事だと思う。

It would have to be the RF model, because Japan doesn't offer the 2.0 litre 181hp engine variant for the lighter soft-top
