Depression is a very serious thing and it's easy to fall into. I just hope all of us find our passion in life. I hope we all win!

Aris i just found your content a couple of months ago thanks to your tekken tips, and ARIS i have never seem someone so real as you, i wishing you the best and please have a happy birthday !
Almost the same story for me. Depressed after college, dead end job, life going nowhere. Fast forward to my mid 30s, I've got my ESL certificate, done a bunch of volunteer teaching, learned a bunch of Japanese, and am planning to move overseas to teach.
Ever since I've come across this channel not only I've become decent in tekken but I have also learned so many life lessons from this guy. Too Bad I can't say that to him on his live streams because I'll probably end up Hearing BEAT IT K ID!! Lol
Aris I am glad you appreciate how lucky you've been. It actually means a lot that you dont take your success for granted like most successful streamers.
real shit. I worked at mcds for no real cash and had to shave my beard for it, I was hating life once I finally left I felt hella relieved to grow my beard out again
Mad respect for talking about such a serious issue. Lots of people out there are dealing with depression and I think you give your audience hope. Hearing your success story only makes me want to try my best and become what I dream to be. Thanks for sharing this part of your life.
Happy birthday, brew. Mine was six days ago, 31. Just now getting into Tekken for super serious, you're helping me learn. So you can see where my life's at. You show that big dinner who's boss, amigo.
I was diagnosed bipolar/manic depressive when I was younger and I've been a drug user for about ten years. I'm sober now and I get away from everything by playing tekken. Well I'm on a bunch of prescribed medication but you know, other than that haha.
Thanks for admitting that you have an inner child. Each one does. Its hard for folks accept that.small Toys from bigger toys ,what's the damb difference.
I dealt with depression for years back in my mid to late 20s, to the point of being suicidal. Now I'm turning 34 this month, have been doing speedrunning for a few years and got to perform in front of hundreds of thousands of people, paid for cancer surgery through streaming, and as of now, I've been studying Japanese for eight months and am looking at getting my TEFL certification to teach English in Japan. The best way long-term to prevent or deal with depression, in my experience, is to have goals you care about. To keep something concrete just over the horizon, something to look forward to. The times I struggle most with slipping back into depression are the times when I'm a few months past some major thing I was looking forward to, and it happened, and then I'm adrift in the day to day grind again.
Happy birthday, Aris. Idk if you remember the 12 year olds you called out on the CEO Tekken 7 stream, but as one of those 19 year old 12 year olds I figured I'd thank you for all of the good content that you put out and all of the inspiration you are to a guy like me.
Found your channel when T7 dropped, Aris, but I remember seeing you on Excellent Adventures and hearing about you years ago in the SC community. Love your streams, man. Glad you're just who you are and that you don't try to put a fake face on things. People need a dose of reality sometimes and the way you bring things out is both hilarious and great to listen to. Thanks for all your hard work, man. Have a great birthday! :)
Hey, I'm 33 too. I was pretty happy for most of my life, but three years ago, just as I was hitting the highest point of happiness I've ever had, I was hit with a brutal combo of serious health problems and have been depressed ever since. Over time I got slightly better, but never really had a truly happy moment since, nor do I look at life the same way. Life is a bitch. Anyway, glad that depression shit is behind you.
"If I'm gonna act like a kid, I'm gonna act like a kid...like a man!" Aris you say some cool shit but that quote is some real thought provocative inspiration. These kids watching you stream could learn a lot more than just Tekken from you , that's for sure.
Sometimes just sharing gentle words or thoughts can help out people, make them feel better, so here I am, as a fellow who struggles with that shit, I wish you a good one. Recently found you and I'm glad I did.
I don't have depression but I do have anxiety. It sucks because I can't really control it. The only time I'm at peace is when I'm asleep. I wake up and the anxiety slowly comes creeping in.
Happy birthday, Aris! Keep up the wonderful work. Everytime you post a new video on RUclips, or stream on Twitch, it makes me forget about the bad stuff that might've happened. This doesn't just apply to me, it applies to the many people who watch your content. Whether it'd be Tekken, Dark Souls, GTA, we'll still have a good time.
Depending on when this was recorded, Happy Birthday Aris or Happy Belated Birthday dude. Yeah depression can be completely mentally and physically crippling. Staying positive and being in a mindset where you fight through it helps immensely. Talking and hanging with friends and family who love you also helps. Just know that somewhere there's a person willing to listen and talk. Holding it all in and dwelling on stuff only makes it worse. I know this from experience, it's rough and takes a concerted effort to get out of the funk. To everyone dealing with it, I'm sorry and keep your head up dudes. Things will and do get better.
How to un-depress yourself; 1. Talk to someone, preferably your closest family members or friends that you know care for you. If you don't have any, call a help center, see your doctor and try to convince him that you need a therapist. Don't wait for it until you feel worse, just to feel like you are "deserving help sufficiently". 2. Ask yourself; "does this fear/sadness/emptiness/apathy" come from within myself, or are there external causes to why I feel this way?" If it comes from within, say this to your therapist so you can figure out the root cause/if you need medicine etc. If the cause is external (you feel under accomplished for your age/health problems/not living up to the masculinity ideal of having everything under control and being able to care for yourself and others/romantic problems etc), practice to accept that life is full of failure, and it is normal to not have everything sorted out. 3. Then take steps to sort out one problem after the next. Babysteps. What issue is the most pressing? The economy? Then you must by yourself or with support set up a plan to overcome that issue. To do this you must accept that you have failed. And that it is ok to fail. It is part of life. 4. Go through with the plan. Do not expect it to be smooth sailing. Think of it as Tekken or Dark Souls. Failure is progress. Cheers!
I study to become a social worker, and it seems to me that (not talking about clinical depression caused by chemical inbalance, traumatic experiences etc) the most common cause of depression is the feeling of loss of control of your own life. An existential crisis, in a way. Usually caused by your parents or yourself setting up a "prefect ideal" of your own future, career, appearance etc. And when that fails, men usually have a hard time accepting it. We have a hard time moving on. "Why didn't I get that job. If I just decided to study math better at school. What if I didn't break up with her. If I didn't make those decisions, I would have reached my ideal "self" by now. I would be in full control. And now I'm not and it is torturing me." We have to get better at accepting failure and humble ourselves. Not saying you shouldn't have goals, but keep them realistic.
@@toxendon This is the best advice, i dealt with depression, the only solution was for me to accept my failures and slowly fix the problems i have in my life (accepting those which are permanent). In the end, i became a better person, more humbled, happy and constantly motivated to achieve my set goals. You have to learn to be your own coach, helps alot.
@@kinggeedorah9833 Thank you! Glad you feel better. Ironically, I had to put my education on hold and enter therapy to process my own traumatic experiences after being an intern at a temporary crisis home for teenagers, also I had to move home to my parents after losing my main source of income and have gotten permament tinnitus and thus sleep problems caused by a jaw injury, all within a span of one week! One thing is for sure, stuff takes time.
Happy Birthday to the Lord!! Aris, just found your channel about 4-5 months ago, ur humor and personality is fucking awesome bro! I watch u everyday, and you are the fuckin beast with King!!!!!!
