The 'Double Projectile' Bug has been stated to be fixed as of 12.6.7 However I havn't had a chance to check. Igolnik will now be 3 shots for every armour (not including frag)

The 2 hit 1 bullet has been around for ages (at the very least last wipe). I just assumed it was entry/exit fragmentation

As a new player, this completely changes how I see ammo. I didn’t realize the difference was so dramatic and I was constantly wondering why people were dropping me in 2 hits when I couldn’t do the same. Thank you

Ammo is everything in this game. Unlike other shooters, the gun itself is only relevant for base stats / modability and does nothing damagewise (at least until they implement barrel length). Don't cheap out on ammo.

Sometimes at the end of raids i was getting almost double my hit count with certain ammo I used and have been confused, this explains a lot
nope, thats because you shoot through the arm and hit the chest or it fragments
Same, I remember I got out of woods once and it said "Ammo used: 1. Hit Count: 2." and i was like "uhhhhhh"
this also applies to shotguns, the ammo used is going to be 1 and say you used a 12 guage, most shells have anywheres from 8-12 pellets in them, and each individual pellet counts towards hitcount, so in the summary, if you were to have shot 1 time with a shotgun and everyhting hit, you may very well have anywheres between 8-12 hitcount. same goes for fragmentations, a fragment counts as 2 extra bullets, each bullet does an extra 25%, so in short, a frag bullet does 150% damage compared to a standard non fragmented round.
Died to Killa and the after raid report showed six colatterals from my left arm. I was hit 3 times by igolnik. For every round of igolnik that hit my arm it fragmented twice. What even happened?

You can bet if 5.45 is doing this then the other calibers are probably doing something similar. This might indicate a major issue with the core coding for ballistics.
Heres the thing, this game is about shooting things with bullets. If those bullets are broken it breaks the core reason for playing the game.
BSG need to get all over data like this and do their own foot work to boot where they can spawn things ad nauseam for testing.

The fact that the most fundamental feature in an FPS (bullet damage calculation) works in such incomprehensible and weird ways, its infuriating.
I seriously don't understand the reasoning that makes them not want to disclose the code behind it, especially since it's full of hidden stats that require datamining to be (partially) understood.

It's IMPOSSIBLE to understand how gun damage works in this game by playing normally, there are too many hidden variables, and even after the datamining many mechanics are fundamentally broken like fragmentation, armor penetration etc.
doubt it, since it does not happen with lower tier ammo. i just went out and did some testing, for 5.45 it only happens on BS and 7n39

There was a point a week or two ago when 7n39 was actually the same price on the flea as BP
yeah cuz a week ago no one needed high pen armor cuz noone ran armor

@@bogdanpatru2742 google it if you want the exact numbers but M855 was slightly buffed in dmg and pen and M995 was slightly nerfed the same way
@@SwanChairUh M995 hasn't been nerfed. It has the same pen as before and its damage increased from 40 to 41. But this is the only difference I've noticed
@@bogdanpatru2742 LOL wtf are you looking at then. 995 got nerfed to 39 damage. it needs 3 bullets to thorax now unless it frags of course. literally look at NoFoodAfterMidnights google docs and everrything is there.

@SharkTank well, a bullet doing damage twice is not nessisarily classified as a big mistake.
@SharkTank they will aknowledge it and fix it, it's a beta, cry somewhere else
oh boy now they "fixed" igolnik and all other bullets now have broken near 0 fragmentation chance again like last wipe, (meaning they just reverted everything)

This explains a lot, ive recently been getting 1 tapped to thorax where on my end i only appear to be shot once but end game screen shows like 4 hits, been thinking i was getting 1 tapped to the head but it always shows 2 or 4 hits in my thorax when i only got hit once

You should test 5.45 PP as well, you can get it early from Prapor lvl 2 and it's really competitive with BP
So im a level 4 just bought it 7 days ago. can’t believe that I thought 7n39 was bad because it had lower damage and I sold all of it to buy ps rounds.

Awesome video; deeply appreciate the time and effort placed in testing, editing, and even having the willpower to retest repeatedly to ensure your tests were valid. My question is did this only affect 7n39? And what if the bullet fragments? Does it only count as one hit with bonus damage or two with bonus damage (potentially allowing 7n39 to one shot through class 6).
It's possible this is due to tarkov's system of hitting multiple limbs being bugged for these rounds, so it's allowing two thorax strikes. I don't think it's an exit wound, as in many cases an exit wound is preferable to none (irl) to prevent internal damage, like the game's fragmentation system.

I only use 7n39 because when you do finally encounter that slick plate carrier bs will kill a fraction slower and every millisecond counts in combat.

this happens with snb too. The amount of time ive gotten 1 tapped by snb and it telling me ive been shot twice (mosling) despite only hearing one shot is insane.
Pretty sure with SNB its working as intended with fragmentation. There's always a chance for multiple hits with fragments, and I know that SNB doesnt do it 100% of the time like it does with 7n39 and BS here, so I'm pretty sure its just fragments
@@SomeDerpyGuy Irl snb won't go through level 5 armor. The armor in this game got nerfed drastically compared to what it used to be and compared to reality.
Maybe hit count is 2 when the bullet passes through body?, ie there are 2 bulletholes in your body. So hit count is the number of holes on your body(except asshole, mouth etc)
@@Turgz You say that like its universal, but for some ammo its the other way around. 855 and 855a1 is heavily underperforming in game compared to what it does IRL, so are helmets and faceshields. You wont find a faceshield IRL capable of stopping multiple round sof 855 like the altyn. Its a game. There's some stuff in there for balance reasons

i feel like this extra damage has been happening for me on mosins too. I've been onetapping people in the chest with SNB while they wear armor but it doesnt even do as much damage as the thorax has hp ?

weird scavs seem to tank about 3 to 4 shots with 7n39 even tho most of them dont even wear armor

Maybe the issue is tied to either being a real player, or the need of having any armor on you. At times I feel like I can tank more bullets when I am without any armor at all when meeting the high tier ammo compared to when I have full armor against the same ammunition.

Exactly. Does he not know PP is 30 pen and PS is 25 pen?
PP may only have 2 less pen than BP but that’s pretty significant as it has 1/2 the chance to pen lvl 4 than BP (~9-10% rather than BP’s 20%, which will significantly increase the kill time)

In real life 7n6 ammo cant be imported anymore to the U.S.(cause the atf hates freedom and common sense) but you can still get it for 20 cents a round.
Why would anyone need armour piecing rounds? Law enforcement service should be able to wear body armour and feel somewhat safe. They protect your freedom

@@magustrigger9195 Yeah didn't think of that. I don't live in the USA though. Where I live no one has guns. Body armour just slows the criminals down in my country. Plus it makes it easier to hit a slower target with a cricket bat. Good luck living in fear mate, peace out.
@@studog7851 no fear just a reality of where I live. Body armor is as low as 150 bucks for ar500 class 3, 7n6 wont get through that unless your with in like 20 ft and you have a 21 inch rifle berral.

I get headshot more in this game in 3 days then i did in a month playing CSGO during its peak lotta pro gamers in tarkov i guess

At the moment, I stick with BT. It's still pretty early in the wipe so not many people will be running anything beyond class 4, and BS / 7N39 are both so much more expensive.
I really like this kind of testing, it really help me understand the power of different ammo type rather than someone just list a damage and penetration table. Would you also like to test 5.56?

I'm pretty sure the double bullet bug applies to some other ammos as well. Maybe not as consistent however. I've encountered a concerning high amount of one taps through brand new level 4 and 5 armors this wipe by SVDs (Not mosins, but hey, same round, might apply as well). Great vid!
I remember when this bug was in full swing and Pestily was still recommending BT over 7N39 because of the low flesh damage

This really seems to only happen with players but i noticed it too, scavs seem to be much more forgiving (without implementing arm shots )
This could be due to the real life results on armored targets , by penetrating the armor the damage is increased due to the ballistic result in a human body and in a body without has an huge exit wound.
Love how this is the only game we’re damage is based on ammunition you use despite the guns that take it
Its doing it with all ammo types. ive run 9mm, 5.45, 5.56, 7.62x39/54r through a variety of weapons, and regularly get more hits than shots fired. i always though it was because i'm hitting an enemy from the side, going through their torso and then maybe their arm or something.

That makes a lot of sense now, there were raids where Id get more hits but less ammo used on my AKs and I thought I mustve hit his arm and the bullet penetrated to his chest or something to that effect. Good to know that I should be way more afraid of igolnik rounds now lol

Well.... one has to consider, penetrating rounds have a copper jacket most of the time with a hardened core. The jacket usually departs from the core. Maybe that the reason it counts a double hit and not one

I made a post asking why it was coming up as getting hit twice in the thorax when I was only getting shot once sometimes. The same thing happened with some of the bigger rifles as well. Hearing one shot go off, and I instantly die, then see it says two hits to the thorax. The only response I got was from people saying it was either a hacker, or it was counting as fragmentation
I'll take Igolnik 7n39 over any other round in the game. It's by far my fav.
Even level 3/4 armor absorbs some damage from high pen rounds, unless it's extremely high pen like over level 60.
