The PPSh: Tarkov’s only unjammable SMG! Although this weapon is primarily used in the early game, it still performs incredibly well into the mid and late game through leg meta, high firerate and access to an extremely cheap drum mag. This allows you to spray like crazy, and know that you’ll never get a weapon malfunction which is truly a huge benefit!

Of course the Russian game devs claim a gun infamous for being unreliable due to shoddy qc on the mags doesn’t jam
can confirm....makes a good GPU combo work infinitely better at 1440p. Streets runs very good. Doesn't fix Tarkov's servers though....
This gun completely changed Factory for me. I hated playing this map and only did it as much as I had to for quests, but thanks to your other video on the PPSH (I believe it was for Jaeger's tremor+headshot quest) I sincerely enjoyed playing it and even got my first red keycard ever, by mowing down Tagilla's legs with the PPSH :D (you might remember me joining your stream chat and thanking you for it about a month ago, so thanks again!).
Have u tried magnum buck or flechette with mp 155? If i want to mindlessly sweep factory over and over for a couple of hours that's my go-to.
@@Weeblicker Bro, the MP-155 is one of my favorite guns in the game. It absolutely slaps with flechette on Factory, it is mean as fuck.

@@pixald3133 I keep forgetting that gun exists, until I loot it from a weapons case on a scav run. And then I sell it. I do need to try it, I killed a PMC who had one the other day and it seemed very strong.

Funny thing is that it used be jammable before the malfunction rework.
and IRL if has a lot of stoppages caused by magazine feeding - essentially you have to find ones that run with that particular unit then keep them together.
@@user936yep, irl it was only paired and fitted with one(!) magazine, be it drum or later a box/stick type mag. Most of the time yoh couldn't even jam another mag into the mag well, so gou had to file another magazine to the point it actually can be inserted. It was extremely unreliable contrary to popular belief and hard to use (hence why soviet soldiers liked to get a trophy mp38/40 and go with it instead)

It’s why a lot of niche firearms use Glock magazines. But double stack, single feed has its own reliability problems.

@@O4KAST I do recall a video where Kalashnikov Group mag dumped about 700+ round out of it and it just chugged along without a problem, so presumably if you can pair a lot of good mags for your PPSh-41 that thing should run like a dream and not really jam.
But yeah having to get those reliable mag is probably tough, especially for average Soviet infantry, getting them after logistic shuffled them around a bit, and loading those drum mags were likely unfun and time consuming. There's a reason why they went with the PPS-43 later down the line.

This gun is also nice for Scav cosplay as a PMC. I do that a lot when I want to either kill scavs, or loot and stay in late game especially on Streets and Interchange. Throw on a dumb hat, some meh armor/rigs, and the right clothing and act scav-ish. Many player scavs won't shot you first, or at all, in case they lose scav rep. Fun to do from time to time to change things up. Really fun on Factory as you get a pile of player scavs wondering where the hell the player is till you PPSH goes brrrrr on them.

Another thing about getting shot so much back to back, is each time you get hit your vision flinches and blurs some... so if your getting hit back to back enough you *literally* can't see or really effectively fight back at all... good stuff when delivering, really shitty when receiving
ppsh with a drum of akbs slaps so hard, the recoil buff on that round feels great
YES!! Finally PPSh gets recognized :3 This is still my go-to low-budget PVP kits along with MP18; I always carry these two when I feel frugal and thrifty xD I wish PPSh gets some buff to its ergo but currently is already a beast to play with!
Now we need a polymer stock and some heat resistant tape to gaffa on a flashlight to the side.
honestly why buy and mp-18 instead of a mosin which gives 5+1 shots?
@@UnknownGamer40464 For me it's more about cheap-ness and efficiency (lower weight, can mount scopes very easy, higher ergo) and also I haven't had my MP18 and PPSh taken off from me. (the scope IS always getting taken :)) )
Not to mention, with any bolt-action, we racked the bolt everytime we shoot. With MP18 I can just manouvre/close door/switch weapon/etc after shooting. And only chamber a round when needed.
I use my MP18 mainly for sniping beyond my PPSh range and/or for when I got the upper hand ambushing someone - and then I'll switch to my PPSh.

Mp18 is my go to budget weapon, smacked a beefed up mf with an altyn and the uhh "zabralo" I think it was called idk I forgot honestly, got a very kind message from him afterwards
if you reload the ppsh out of a backpack , you can start shooting before operating the charging handle. I dont think it reduces the reload time because I think it takes longer to go into the inventory and right click - install than just finish the animation, but an interesting bug for the PPSH that I have not noticed with other guns.
Thought that worked for anything where you put a bullet into the chamber!?
@@rickybuhl3176 in this case the chamber is empty and you dont pull the charging handle to chamber one. If you compare it to reloading out of a rig it skips a step. if you let it continue and dont interupt the animation you will finish it and pull the charging handle
@@jgentilucci Gotcha. Think I was confusing it with the loading of say a shotty or Mosin, where we just drag and drop the ammo onto the weapon in the slot and it just fills it up. Wondering then if [irl] papasha locks open on empty and chucking the mag in will release it and automatically put the first round into the chamber. Or you know, just BSG tings..
@@rickybuhl3176 it's a "open bolt" design. the bolt is locked back after every shot leaving the chamber empty, as you pull the trigger (or fun mode) the bolt slides forward, feeds a round and fires it in one go repeating the cycle

One really hidden piece of information not a lot of people know about is the LBCR Chest Rig, it's the only non armored rig in the game with 2 2x2 slots, perfect for drum bullshit
I use PSTGZH in the PPSH when I unlock it. It gives you kills against PACAs and whatnot that you wouldn't of gotten otherwise. I aim for chest and the recoil takes it into their face. Its also the only 7.62x25 bullet that can Fragment, which means its effective damage is actually 60, not 50.
We need another 9x18 smg. My vote is on PP Bizon.

Is the PM63 RAK in the game?
For me I tend to, when using the smaller rig with the 2x2 slot, run a magaazine in that slot, because the mags are so big they are easy to find on the ground, I will throw the mag out, load the second big one in when I need it, and then after combat pick up the old mag and reload it.
yup the one mag that's hard to lose, I lose those 10 rounders and even 30 rounders all the time.
If you want to safely remove the drum in a raid - go into inventory, double click on your PPSH and drag the drum into the backpack. A bit cumbersome and slow, but you won't lose 20k worth of magazine
You can do the same thing, just control-left click the mag, and it'll auto-put it in your bag. Saves ya dragging it.

I went to do a Level 1-40 PPSH Playthrough last wipe for some fun, the biggest problem I had was the muzzle flash...OMG
If you aren't close enough you wont see them at all and it was getting me killed ALOT but this gun is up there when it comes to CQB!

I use the PsT GzH rounds to the chest with the 70 round drum. if the ammo doesnt bullet punch and shred them, the recoil will just pull toward their face and eventually one of those bullets will do the trick

There's an excellent video in Russian somewhere on RUclips where a team tries to get a PPSH to malfunction. I'll see if I can find it, it's hilarious.
ETA: seems the channel has been taken down. Anyway, they dump over 500 rounds through it in a few minutes, stopping only to pack mags and the only change in performance is an increase in fire rate.

@@superbodaciousflibbertigib8139 IRL they do videos where they run 1000 rounds through guns to see how much damage it does. the ppsh was crazy reliable and the only issues fixed themselves when the gun cooled down. they had a few times they could barely load the mags because it was so hot they had to smack the gun on the table to seat the mags near the end wearing bigass heat resistant gloves.

I discovered this myself, it is really nice. I believe this is based on the Kalashnikov channel gunbuster series where they ran out of ammo before the gun jammed.

I would argue for CQB the SMG benefits from slightly higher spread because aiming for center of mass may still result in headshots. Since the body is easier to track than the head this means you can spend less time aiming and more time spraying up close. It also helps you hits both legs more or less simultaneously by just aiming between them.
Go for legs and use LRNPC, its an 8 shot kill but at 1000 RPM that takes .48 seconds
they should add magazine failures to 71 rounders cus thats the only reason it might fail.
They'd have to completely reconfigure how they do Jams in Tarkov. Currently its coded in the Chamber and Ejection port, of which the PPSH has neither.

High moa can matter if you get caught out in a greater than qqc distance. 35moa like shown is a circle ~1% the distance to the target in diameter (radius in tarkovs system). And it can get worse

PPSH is a great gun, I keep telling this kids i feel more secure with this old reliable then with a modded M4.

The real one is actually more accurate than the average SMG due to its caliber. Its successor, the PPS-43, is generally regarded as the best SMG of its era. The ye olde classic PPSh-41 also shows up in some S.T.A.L.K.E.R. mods, usually in its original 7.62x25mm Tokarev caliber.

I was wondering why the PPSH worked well when I was a scav. Always managed to dump full mags into a pmc without a jam, but I've had times where I spawn with an AK at high durability, and that jams almost instantly.
The ppsh early wipe slaps so hard because it’s either it demoslished the tier 2 and 3 and then tier 4 just gets blunt damaged into non existence

Try single player tarkov or SPT as it's called. Its a mod that runs a private server off your PC.

I would say my least favorite thing about tarkov is recoil. There is no way that all of these private military contractors are such novices that they are unable to reasonably control firearm. In real life all you got to do is just lean into it a little bit and use your front hand to control it. Obviously some firearms are harder to control than others but still. Like a full auto 30-06 is gonna rise on you, but something like an mp5 or other 9mm on full auto is extremely easy to control with minimal effort.
Recoil is controlled by the player not the character.

1.14 or some recent update will add new jamming animations to the PPSH. Mark my words.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I have been using this gun almost exclusively for the last few weeks, not cause it's cheap but just cause AKBS and 71 round drum mags murder anyone without a faceshield.
It happens to me every wipe where I go to reload and the mag I drop clips through the floor to be ungrabbable. I've lost a few 45 rounders and drum mags that way.

it is a realistic feature though. Unless using a crappy mag or crappy ammo you cannot jam it

It's not a secrete feature, more like a realistic one. I've seen video where dudes have tried to make ppsh go jammed. They've run out of bullets. Like literally. And they had more than 1000 of em and shot one cartridge after another.
This is literally the best gun to take down to D2

this was something i was thinking about lol, bringing in the full auto glock and going to an exfil and just dumping an inventory full of mags to level recoil control. imagine what people hearing that shit would think.

You can craft it for a single blue gun powder. Pretty cheap for what it is, although 5.45 PS soon outclasses it. Still, Kedr variants are nice throw away guns.

IRL its so simple that the only risk for a jam is a failure to feed from the magazine, the channel Kalashnikov media put one through 1200 rounds and it never jammed outside of feeding issues. So i guess they couldn't find a way to implement that problem to the game, and they just left it as unjamable

The real PPSh 41 has issues with compatibility between the drum magazines. There weren't effective standardisation methods in place in the USSR at the moment and each gun was made with 2 accompanying drum mags. Being able to fit magazines made for other guns in other factories was a matter of luck. I'm glad this isn't portrayed though lol. Just saying the real ppsh isn't perfect at all.
Its unjammable in Tarkov because Jams are coded into "Chamber", which the PPSH doesn't have.
AKBS has no bleed chance either, LRNPC and others do. the higher the rpm, the more bleeds are guaranteed - at least that is how I think it works, each bullet roles the dice whether it induces heavy or light bleed. 0% -> always 0. again, I think that is how it works. LRNPC also has higher fragmentation
Every bullet has a chance to cause a bleed. The Bleed stat in the Ballistics page are a bonus % chance. Also, Bullets don't fragment if they have less than 20 penetration. The Fragmentation % chance stat is completely meaningless if the bullet has under 20 pen. The only 7.62x25 bullet than can actually Fragment is PSTGZH.

Problems with PPSH are two :D In modern age is Tokarev ammo very rare in armory and in Tarkov is very bad find in raid and ofcorse have 5kg and its very heavy :/ Better is for cheap runs KEDR and KLIN What have same Rp/m and more attachment like suppressor and Red dote

Russian bias to a whole new level... wasnt the ppsh notorious for jamming after just a few rounds fired? (If some weird argument starts over this i will fact check it but i heard somewhere that is why soldiers held them by the drum mag while firing so they can push the mag in and make sure rounds were being fed.)
That was a magazine issue, not the gun itself.
In fact, practically every drum in existence has similar issues. That's why the Thompson went from drums to regular stick mags.
