He straight up called her a moron to her face.

Demonically smart little girl. She not only tricked house into spending time with her, even out of hours and at his work of all places, but got treats and new toys out of it too.
Gotta be careful with how one uses their looks and/or intelligence on others. If she uses it wrong, she's going to be manipulative. She is with Cuddy and House, so either they teach her to learn from their mistakes or they pass on those mistakes to her.

Yep. You know how many times kiddo has pretended to spontaneously not know things to get me to explain or demonstrate something he could probably do in his sleep and definitely didn't forget? And hell. I did that as a child too. To my mom.
It's normal child behavior. To a point. But also a kid needs to be at least somewhat intelligent to pull it off. Typically not eating glue but hey. Could happen.
Meanwhile... Eight year old who makes algebra his bitch on a regular basis occasionally pretends not to know basic things like two plus two and shit- just so I'll explain or do it and spend that time. I dunno why. We spend a LOT of time together. Maybe he thinks it's funny. Dunno. Meh. Have tried to tell him not to and that nobody in this house believes him when he does and to be careful with that sort of thing outside home... But meh. Work in progress.

I was just reading that when he said it xD
The problem is no that is what it feels like trying to get a small child to do ANYTHING
4:52 "House, she's not a dog." Yes, but that doesn't mean anything. What house is doing is called Operant Conditioning, a technique that can be used on anyone and any living thing that can learn. It works. I spent a whole semester doing that.
Intentionally using operant conditioning on humans is only morally permissible if it's done to avoid some major harm or they ask you to. You can use operant conditioning on your kid to get them not to run in the street, but you shouldn't use it to get them to hug their aunts.
@@diablominero who said that was the moral line?
@@FFKonoko in a way manipulating a child to violate their personal space to hug someone they don't know well takes away their choice and comfort zone that all people should have no matter what age. It is not a safty issue if the child doesn't want to give a hug. it is definately a safty problem if the child runs into the street, no matter how quiet the road is.
Even though it was just an example. disiple should be used to teach boundries not controlling children into doing every tiny thing said. If the child is snotty and disrespectful about expressing their dislike for something is one thing but if they calmly said they don't like it then a simple converastion with them is appropriate.
6:10 you can see House is really proud of Rachel, one of the rarest moment in House's life.
This was actually a nice gesture from House. I like the episode. And House calling Rachel Lesser Cuddy is too cute.
have you tried teaching your kids like they are dogs?🤣🤣🤣
@@SaraMorgan-ym6ue there was a dokumentary about that "train your baby like a dog" . was british i think it got canceld. then here in gemany they tried it out it was canceld too .
I hated that they broke these two up. Loved the interactions with the kid (and I don’t even like small children nor do I usually find their inclusion in the storyline to be appealing) and felt it really brought out some excellent moments between House and Wilson.
It made no sense other then to feed more plot lines. Even the damage to Rachel. Then again it went on for a lot of seasons writers just aren't that talented at keeping interesting stories going.
@@Mitsoumi21 I heard somewhere that Lisa Edelstein wanted to get paid more, but was rejected, so she decided to leave the show. It's definitely a pity that they broke up, heck even Cuddy's mother wanted them to be together.
I like kids.. When they can't talk and are too slow to run too far, or walk. Also when they're all chubby and cute. Then they grow bigger, faster, noisier... And I start to miss their previous avatars.
@@JasonJia11 I think the ratings were lower so the budget got cut, and that included Edelstein's. Everyone else took the cut, but her current pay getting a cut was too lower for her so she left. It would make sense why House crashing the car into her home was so out of nowhere.
Hated the lucas plotline
House would actually make a good dad
Ulquiorra Cifer I agree
For small kids, perhaps, not when tye are older like teenagers. He would screw them up quite badly with his dark humour and borderline personality.
Quo Niam Probably. But he could straighten out a bratty teenager real quick.
Probably but it would be a very high risk strategy to give House a teenager to fix... High risk, high reward, but he messes up, the teenager will be ruined.
Quo Niam I doubt he'd ruin them. Honestly if they ever did a revive I'd like to see a changed House- probably a House that went back to Mayfield for a bit since his hallucinations did start again in the last episode. Not a new person, but a not as depressed House.
Awww Rachel saying "No Mama" is so sweet.
I love Wilson:
“I am not giving you advice just so you can distort it to suit your own warped worldview...”
*inadvertently gives advice*
“Oh, crap! Crap! I’m such a sucker!”
honestly it would've been SO interesting to see Rachel grow up as House's protegé. She probably would've grown up to have House's cynical dry wit, as well as his pragmatism... but also have her mom's compassion and heart. She would've been perfect!!! Also, I thought that by making her seem "dumb" at the beginning, they were going for a story line in which Rachel turned out to be a sort of savant or something. In which case, House would be the perfect mentor for her since he knows what it's like to deal with being different and having a higher level of intelligence than most people.. at the same time, Cuddy would make sure Rachel had a normal life. GAH honestly it would've been so cool.... but no, Cuddy had to break up with House... >:v
i love this! in my head they never broke up because the writers were quite literally forced to somehow write lisa edelstein out of the show, so i feel like this would've happened
@@xx-eo1xw No, they were not forced, they always intended to break them up even before Lisa Edelstein departure
You know thats not their biological kid right? And a whole lot of intelligence comes from genetic
@@steffigracec8894 They realized that I'm sure, but that doesn't mean someone can't work to be smarter. Cuddy ain't a slouch either in the intelligence department. Under House I'm sure Rachel would've learned plenty - that is to say I legitimately can't imagine House trying to raise a teenager. Young children can't comprehend his sarcasm and cynicism, but they are bound to become quite receptive to it as they grow older.
All that to say that House could very well pass down his traits just by raising Rachel. Children grow up and act similarly to their parents. If your father has a good work ethic then you'll probably have a good work ethic because he would raise you to have one. In the end, genetics are just an arbitrary way of life giving someone a head start or a handicap.

I used Root Beer to teach my son solving a puzzle. He ratted me to my wife for giving him canned soda, that little bastard.
Lesson of the story: before attempting this trick, make sure your kid can keep secret. Or just reward him something healthy.
I love how House starts caring for and respecting her the moment he sees she's a good liar, and honestly regards that as being smart. And that is actually the truth. Anyone can lie, but doing it convincingly requires a lot of skills that smart people have. Any test can be learnt with enough repetition, as we see here, that's why perfect grades don't always correlate with smart people.
If Rachel learns these games in advance and she remembers what to do, that really demonstrates her strength of memory. It’s like studying for a quiz, so it shows she maybe was even capable of learning the advanced skills of a kid three times her age.
Right! Finally someone in the comments praising her actual intelligence and memory instead of her lying.
@@yevgeniyaleshchenko849 Thank you 😊 I’m glad I’m not the only who noticed👍

Rachel is not dumb, in fact she is very smart because she realizes what House is up to almost instantly :D.
4:14 Wilson realized the just traveled to an alternate dimension.
This makes me realize that dogs and babies have the same level of intelligence
Not entirely, but the training methods are similar, since neither one understands verbal commands very well.
Roughly speaking, that's true if you compare human babies to other primate babies. Humans differ in that their brains have evolved to learn language fast at a certain developmental stage. From that comes virtually everything else that makes adult human intelligence unique in the animal kingdom.
A smart dog behaves very much the same as a small child.
You can train adult humans easily with positive reinforcement. Despite being wholly more intelligent. We still have the basic drives as every other animal.
children are easily trained, indoctrinated, and manipulated... which is why churches and ideologies like to snag them when their young. makes it easier to brainwash them into believing everything you say.
1:37 you can see the horror build in his eyes until he realizes house got him to do exactly what he didn't want to do

I never saw house happy during the entire show. I wonder if he felt that sparkle in this scene, just a little bit at least
joana jo: Of course.
He's a Father.
And he probably hugged the little girl actress and told her what a great performance she did (even though she was working on getting up again before "cut!"
Oh, you mean the character.
Had they allowed, a mix of "family caretaker House" & "asshole House to borderline asshole+ patients" probably would have given two more years to the series.
Nothing is worth more in a series than to be kept guessing if a major league asshole is softening up to the World, or just his little girl.
Imagine the tactics/cons House would have pulled on asshole Mothers who teach their kids to piss on everyone they feel is competing with them -- like ballet/pageant Mothers :-D
Or that House homeschools Rachel and during a weekend camping/botany trip gets an asshole camper who gets in the way of Rachel's expectations!!!
:-O !
Additionally, as part of her homeschooling, she is at the Hospital quite often and her character developed a knack for subliminally & naïvely cuing House, team, patients to the diagnosis until she is found to be a "Doogie Howser."
As she gets older (3yo), she starts identifying medical instruments (clamps, retractors, stethoscopes), then, as a kindergartener, surgical devices and equipment she would only see passing by in the halls.
All because she was playing on her (sterilized) mat on the floor while the team worked on diagnosis.
She could have had a spin-off show.
capie44 yes, I was talking about the character "doctor house". I really enjoyed this little paternal show-off moment of House for the little girl. At the end of this scene, it looked like a normal happy family, something that I didn't expect from him, knowing that he is an antisocial and cynical type of person. Scenes like this make me really wish we could've seen House as a dad, whether to Rachel or to a child of his own.
I nearly cried at the end.
House reminds me of my grandpa monster (he passed away from cancer in 2019) and when I was around Rachel's age he didn't know what to do with me when I visited, that was until he discovered my love of everything animals especially reptiles and drawing.
The last time I visited him we were in a sarcastic argument and just being douches to each other when we started talking about my dragon drawings. He told me that I remind him of my uncle John (he was murdered before I was born, while he was in college) and my grandpa took me into the back of his car repair shop and opened up this locked drawer and it was filled to the brim with old markers, rulers, drawing paper and pencils.
Turns out my uncle John loved to draw and would draw cars and such. My grandfather said that he knew I would love the supplies and that I would put them to better use than he ever would. That night in his basement bar I drew him a red and gold dragon taking up nearly 80% of his wall with my uncle's supplies.
Now that he is passed my dad said that he is planning on cutting the dragon out and brining it here and I'm going to finish drawing it for him.
Long story short house looks and acts like my grandfather and it just hurts my heart.

One of the reasons why I love House. House had it's ups and downs, but the main reason, for me at least, that carried the show was how the actors breathed life into the characters they played. Everyone was soooo good, even the guest stars were great. The way House's hands hovered over Rachel reluctantly coupled with the irritated look he had but eventually gave in and embrace her. It's so subtle yet speaks volumes. But it's also something many actors wouldn't have been able to portray.

She did eat the dime.. They found it at the end of the episode... Just as house thought he was in the clear
Cuddy: how did you eat a dime?
Rachel: house
House is laying in bed with a look of I'm in deep trouble on his face
3:04 I don't know why, but I thought House will jump out of the window LOL🤣🤣🤣🤣
The thing I like about House so much compared to other medical shows. Is that they don't sugar coat crap and always have these happy atmospheres. It has a dark humor that really resonates with me knowing little shows that are able to do Dark Humor well. They don't refrain from straight up saying that a little kid is actually an idiot.

dog clicker was priceless😂😂😂
Love this.
So sweet at the end having Rachel climb into houses lap. Wish they had made house and cuddy a couple.
It’s sweet how much he loves the kid. In his own demented way....
I'm not sure what's funnier in the clinic scene: House talking to the guy with the busted leg, or the guy actually paying attention to the story
“She’s got the fine motor skills of the hulk in oven mitts.”
"i'm hungry, go cook." what a loving boyfriend 😀
0:44 Omg THAT House look!
Reminds me a bit of Mr Bean
Did anyone treat that guy’s leg after House left?
No, legend has it he is still lying there waiting to this day.
u cant be more correct
He died 48 hours later. It turns out it was Lupus.
Sithis The Void it's never lupus
It's always lupus
4:35 I got the same reaction from my family and siblings when I brought out the clicker for my nieces and nephews on holiday visits. But guess for whom the little rats behaved most consistently and with the least amount of negative input , eh? I didn't have to yell at anyone to get them to eat their food, or pick up their toys, or get ready for bed. I just bargained and set boundaries.
I don't have any kids of my own so I have the freedom to learn how to be more differently interactive since I don't have to worry as much about noy killing them on a daily basis...
"What kid doesn't like new toys?"
The ones that are given iPads and iPhones before they're 10 years old -_-
But those ARE toys
@@TheMiddlingGamer oH rEaLlY
They're like toys with a red nuclear button hidden inside
Yea a child being technologically able is bad, give them wooden blocks stfu
actually, when i was young, even before i graduated year 6, I already had a laptop, and before that i surfed my mothers laptop on a daily basis, and before that, i used a shared computer.
however, i had few toys, the toys i did play with were from my older sisters, and many of them were old and therefore, incomplete, missing parts often. I always wanted classic toys. I owned a laptop, but wanted games, proper games, they could have been anything, from traditional building blocks, connect, dolls, house, puzzles, video gaming board gaming.
but i didn't have those, i had a few, such as puzzle pieces, incomplete cooking sets and like 10 building blocks. but after playing those few 100 times over its gets boring.
and now as at the end of my teenagehood. With a laptop, some games, tablet, books, phones etc... i still kinda want them.
