My QE25 Railway Rifle is my favorite weapon. Explosive is especially good on it as it overwrites the projectile animation and makes the weapon "hit-scan". This means you do damage instantly when you pull the trigger. On non-explosive Railway Rifles the traveltime of the spikes can be quite noticeable at long ranges.
Very nice weapon. I run a QEDUR Railway as my daily driver. I have had the QE25 but I started preferring Dur on Rails more as time went on. They break so fast plus they already use low amounts of AP.
@@mikesparks8252 Crit damage is nice, but I prefer the utility of the projetile override that comes with the explosive legendary effect. Unfortunately the crit damage legendary effect has lost some of its power when Bethesda changed crit damage to also be calculated additively instead of multiplicatively. As compensation all sources of crit damage like Better Critcals, Eagle Eyes or Blight soup got buffed but the legendary effect stayed unchanged. If you want high DPS, then "25% faster fire rate" is the best choice now as its still a multiplactive DPS bonus.

The recoil is insane, but I think it's fun to get skilled at using this gun full-auto. Years of playing Escape from Tarkov and DayZ have made me really good at recoil management lol
Just aim low and rush them without vats haha. That's what I do when chasing someone i can't vats on to. Haha during the Christmas event someone played the grinch snd I chased them all over my base just letting those spikes fly. He was probably terrified haha I got him when he tried to fast travel tho.

But, finally got full set of -100%ww excavator pa with jet pack, returning to heavy build. I really love what bethesda did with perk and leveling system, if you got bored you can completely change your playstyle and have fun again. But storage limitation kills some of it

You have the god roll. I’ve rolled a quad with crit damage but I can’t get that bonus charge for a third star. I just recently switched from a full health build to a bloody build and with that unyielding armor, and those proper perk cards What a difference in damage output it makes. At first I was hesitant about using the railway rifle but after I gave it a chance, well you can probably tell from my profile picture what my preferred choice of weapon is.
I currently have two characters, one at 900 ish and the other at 500. The 900 one is bloodied commando with a railway rifle and I made the new character because I wanted to do a PA heavy weapons holy fire build. I got to about level 400 before I was using a railway again. It's just so good
I use a Vampire faster fire rate with 250dr on reload. That third star is usually junk but works nicely with the faster fire rate because it's usually empty in 2 bursts so there is a ton of reloading. It's not as effective as my prime bloodied handmade with extra crit and durability, but a great backup if I'm getting swarmed and need the healing and damage resistance.
I dropped Action Boy to clear up some space in Agility. You can replace it entirely with the Company Tea machine. Just a heads up 😉 Edit: Sorry. I posted that before getting to the end 😅
i got a Q crits +50, and i buff the heck out of crit hits. unyielding as frig helps too. i use other comando guns for regular baddies so i only carry a few hudred spikes and only whip out the choo choo when i gotta. ❤
I have a PA build and Stealth Commando build. In-between those I have a PA Commando build and for that one I use my Quad Expl Railway called Thomas the Spank Engine. Absolute destruction and that not even using blight soup etc.
I found an anti-armor with the other stars being the god rolls of 50 crit and 15 crit charge. My question is what mods or perks or anything to make this anti armor work best? Do I just have it modded the same as a quad? Is it best to just use for non-bossing?
I main a Q50c15r on my main that's a 1000. I have 3 pieces of uny ap refresh so I don't need 25 less ap cost. I can solo drop the queen with my crit commando/revenant build. I only use it when pubbies are having a tough time killing bosses. I own all the groll variants as a collector, but for some reason that's my favorite roll.
After the nerf to legacy explosive weapons, the railway rifle became my goto gun for dealing with scorchbeasts, it's just so much quicker than any of the other guns. Not really sure i like it for boss fights, as it does break way too fast.
@@darianrodriguez3544 yes it is. The whole point about going quad is to not use time on reloads, so if your weapon breaks mid fight you will have to spend time using a repair kit. So 50 break less is good :)

The only issues I ran into while using the RR was the constant breaking and the fact that it really started to put a dent in my steel supply. Also the ammo is heavy af.
Bandolier makes it so 1000 rounds only weighs 20lbs(More than enough for awhile), Gunsmith 5 or a "Breaks Less" helps with the breaking so much, and steel is just so easy to get. Running WestTek once will give you 400 steel with the scrapper perk. And the Titan event will easily give you over 1000 steel a go if farmed correctly. Just my thoughts, thanks for commenting :)
@@MrWestTek Even with those perks, which I did use, it just didn't seem sustainable as an everyday carry. I prefer my Guass Shotty. Destroys everything and I actually build up ammo while using it and it rarely breaks. Also, the ammo is more universal, as I can use it in the Guass minigun as well.
@MrWestTek What perk is it that is allowing you to heal automatically while in combat? I have Healing Factor, but I don't start auto healing until out of combat.
I love it so much, it uses so little AP that even a 2 star Q Explosive or 50 critical will carry you lol I use mine for bosses or when I feel to overkill most mobs.
I wish there was more skins 😢 Ive had a bloodied explosive railway rifle as my main for like 5 years now. I've tried all the other weapons but RR rifle is still the best. Nothing beats 700 dps. Even better with a point or 2 in concentrated fire. Headshots do 700, and if you get the better criticals perk, you can headshot crit for 1200 with gunfu.

Yeah got a few of those bad boys but the QE25 is my baby. The elders mark is fun to play with also not a railway but also good. Fine that u don’t need quad because the drum already holds 62, so I roll with a bloody version. Try it out. If u don’t have one holla at me.

I have the holy threesome of quad railways (2525/5025/E25) but to be honest , if this was all I used the entire (or most) of the time , I’d be bored silly lol. I’m honestly more excited about the AA50c25 10mm SMG I pulled from a player vendor for 500 caps today haha.
I've been running Railway rifles for the last 4 years.... & have a stockpile of Quad Explosive & Bloodied Explosive Railways 😉 .... I will also toss in the Quad or 2-shot Explosive Handmade for a running around weapon.... Yes they are heavy my usual lineup my Quad Explosive Rail & two Handmades are aprox. 55lbs.

Dunno what my RxR Rifle stays are but have had it just over two weeks now. No specific SPECIAL build. But damn. Coupled with coffee and shitload of spikes and whatever bonuses i get from my power armor and nothing stands in my way for more that 15 seconds. BTW, on that annoying mirelurk queen? I shoot her in her spitholes first. Reduces her DOT output massively.
I find the automatic enclave plasma rifle to be a bit better ngl, way more comfortable to use, also now the flamer is properly included in the commando perks
Would like to know how to get a Quad Railway Rifle. I currently have an anti armour railway rifle but looking to acquire the quad after watching this video
Shouldn't be too difficult. Don't know what platform you're on but you can find them in player vendors fairly readily in my experience on Xbox. The more desired Q's can fetch 20K-40K caps so be prepared for that. And the top tier stuff is typically "trade only" found on offer walls or on '76 trade forums. But "typical" Q's can be had fairly cheap. 3-5K caps. All that said rolling scrip for one is a pretty good bet imo. The "Q" is the most important part to get your foot in the door. If lucky and you get Explosive, Crit, or FFR as a second? Great! VHC can also be nice enough. I just sold one of those for 3K. I say all this because I just made a Commando build several weeks ago and had no problem collecting Q Railways. I was "lucky" and rolled an Explosive and Crit. I found an FFR on a trade wall. Found a 25AP for 20K caps in a vendor. I use them all, all have a purpose and place. And I acquired some nice non Q's along the way. So look around, and I really do think rolling scrip for one will pay off. Even a simple Q will hold you over. Want more damage on it for an event, etc? A Small Guns bobble and Chem buff will do the trick👌
It is annoying to make but useful cause i think it requires vodka or some other alcohol and getting those materials is annoying since you can’t grow them yourself
The only "hard" material to collect is the Glowing resin, and there are lots of spots that have them. Also work with green thumb perk. However, if you have herbivore, corn soup and action boy/girl should cover all your needs. @@Poke-ladd
@@Poke-ladd you don't need a fermenter. I will give you that glowing resin is slightly annoying to farm until you know a route. But hard lemonade really doesn't matter anymore anyway since company tea is 5x better and already so plentiful that I'm selling it to the vendors. A shame because I've got hundreds of vodka and hard lemonades 😂
I’m currently level 113 in route to unlocking legendary perk cards have not unlocked any yet. What legendary perk card should I start with first if I’m going to do this build?
I prefer a rifleman's build with the supressed gauss rifle. Because it's stays silent you keep getting the 2.5X damage. You one shot almost every enemy. Very efficient taking down Scorchbeasts. And you gets lots of ammo.
The railway is amazing but it’s so hard for me to stick to one weapon. Part of my love for fallout are all the unique weapon types so I need to cycle through them all.
i rolled a quad fire rate railway the other day and its genuinely insane how easy to use and convenient it is. Kills most enemies with a single tap of the trigger whilst being extremely ammo efficient... only problem is i gotta repair it after every big event
is it a heavy gun just wonder what bobblehead to use I never really used bobbleheads but now I have so many both small guns and heavy guns like 150 of each
never used a low health build. I like sneaking, maximum defense mitigation, and NOT guns blazing approach. So mutations will never be for me. That much red bar on my HP bar would be constantly distracting and distressing.
You should still carry a Two-Shot Auto Grenade Launcher for the Reflective Skin mutations. The TS AGL has the added benefit of giving you the highest AOE DPS. The obvious downside is having low health may result in more deaths from your own AOE damage. Outside of soloing bosses, kill time is negligible when comparing bloodied Quad Railway Rifle vs full health builds with TS AGL / Flamer / Chainsaw / Auto-axe.
@@BeKind1Love TS AGL blows GF out of the water, especially if you know how to get extra shots in through the Aiming Down Sight glitch. That said, GF is better than nothing.
i disagree wholeheartedly about the railway rifle being the best rifle in the game. it's the best ballistic rifle for bossing, sure, but quad fixer is simply the better weapon for everyday overwolrd mobbing and events... except maybe radiation rumble with its tight spaces then a rifle like quad elder's mark would be better
Their actually not that bad with bandolier. I usually grab 1000 or so when I need to and they last fairly long. Not to mention all the ammo you pick up along the way ;)
There’s gotta be some down side to it I suppose, when you’re destroying everything before it gets the chance to know what hit it are you really concerned about ammo?
To be fair, you don't need tons of ammo to carry when you mostly killing everything with less than 5 shots. My q50c25 kills 1 lvl100 super mutant just one ammo with headshot on vats. 🤷♂️
Pity it's not practical as the ammo is so heavy. May as well build the flamer or the laser gatling gun and max out on fuel or cores to drop the carry weight.
I have been running a similar build but different legendary cards; am going to have to change and level them up so i can get ALL of those cards haha my AP goes down fast usially i just drink several coffees before doing a battle 😅😅

Use the short barrel if you want to use it out of vats. Way less recoil. I collect and have every groll rail, been using then since launch.

If the spikes didn’t weigh a billon pounds would use more often but the fixer as a stealth commander is amazing
Both commando builds weaps, so easy to swap. Cause yes Fixer is good but for tuff enemies it lacks…
Railway is way better then the fixer
Bandolier 2* = no problem, on average I carry 2-3k stakes.
I do a full health overwater build and it’s fantastic. Almost never die and plow through everything. A quad railway alone is nasty
I recommend follow through legendary perk.

Q50c25lvc Railway Rifle is the strongest weapon in the game. It's ridiculously op.

I took a perk off and put born survivor on for the beginner part due to no fire res so what i did was put radicool and 3 fire res to start off with

I would swap marathoner and one point of white knight for gun fu rank 3, that makes this build even more insane.
Personally I find it annoying how it keeps swapping. And not like you need extra damage with regular mobs.

Im a camando build full health build , currently using the unclave plasma flamer ive wanted to use the railway rifle
How would I go about trying to make a railway gun like that? Can someone please explain the process? I'm not educated on the weapon crafting side of things. I already have the railways gun plan by the way.

@@MrWestTek So far I am loving it. Didn't quite have every perk so I am working on a couple more. I'm basically you're beginner commando build but with bloody mess and it's awesome.
Bloodied explosive works very nicely.
I have the holy threesome of quad railways (2525/5025/E25) but to be honest , if this was all I used the entire (or most) of the time , I’d be bored silly lol. I’m honestly more excited about the AA50c25 10mm SMG I pulled from a player vendor for 500 caps today haha.
I wish you could still use the spikes when you plant them in the wall to actually stand on them like it used too
And to answer yes that was possible back then same thing with the harpoon gun
I've been running Railway rifles for the last 4 years.... & have a stockpile of Quad Explosive & Bloodied Explosive Railways 😉 .... I will also toss in the Quad or 2-shot Explosive Handmade for a running around weapon....
Yes they are heavy my usual lineup my Quad Explosive Rail & two Handmades are aprox. 55lbs.
does this also have to be paired with a bloody build? I am just getting back into this game and I just hit 40. I have built a shotgun build with the cold shoulder. Would this be something i should explore?
Dunno what my RxR Rifle stays are but have had it just over two weeks now. No specific SPECIAL build. But damn. Coupled with coffee and shitload of spikes and whatever bonuses i get from my power armor and nothing stands in my way for more that 15 seconds. BTW, on that annoying mirelurk queen? I shoot her in her spitholes first. Reduces her DOT output massively.
I find the automatic enclave plasma rifle to be a bit better ngl, way more comfortable to use, also now the flamer is properly included in the commando perks
Would like to know how to get a Quad Railway Rifle. I currently have an anti armour railway rifle but looking to acquire the quad after watching this video
Shouldn't be too difficult. Don't know what platform you're on but you can find them in player vendors fairly readily in my experience on Xbox. The more desired Q's can fetch 20K-40K caps so be prepared for that. And the top tier stuff is typically "trade only" found on offer walls or on '76 trade forums. But "typical" Q's can be had fairly cheap. 3-5K caps. All that said rolling scrip for one is a pretty good bet imo. The "Q" is the most important part to get your foot in the door. If lucky and you get Explosive, Crit, or FFR as a second? Great! VHC can also be nice enough. I just sold one of those for 3K.
I say all this because I just made a Commando build several weeks ago and had no problem collecting Q Railways. I was "lucky" and rolled an Explosive and Crit. I found an FFR on a trade wall. Found a 25AP for 20K caps in a vendor. I use them all, all have a purpose and place. And I acquired some nice non Q's along the way. So look around, and I really do think rolling scrip for one will pay off. Even a simple Q will hold you over. Want more damage on it for an event, etc? A Small Guns bobble and Chem buff will do the trick👌
An option before you get the company tea is Hard lemonade. The recipe is from a random event, but i have seen a few player vendor having it for cheap.
It is annoying to make but useful cause i think it requires vodka or some other alcohol and getting those materials is annoying since you can’t grow them yourself
The only "hard" material to collect is the Glowing resin, and there are lots of spots that have them. Also work with green thumb perk. However, if you have herbivore, corn soup and action boy/girl should cover all your needs. @@Poke-ladd

@@Poke-ladd you don't need a fermenter. I will give you that glowing resin is slightly annoying to farm until you know a route. But hard lemonade really doesn't matter anymore anyway since company tea is 5x better and already so plentiful that I'm selling it to the vendors. A shame because I've got hundreds of vodka and hard lemonades 😂
I’m currently level 113 in route to unlocking legendary perk cards have not unlocked any yet. What legendary perk card should I start with first if I’m going to do this build?
I prefer a rifleman's build with the supressed gauss rifle. Because it's stays silent you keep getting the 2.5X damage. You one shot almost every enemy. Very efficient taking down Scorchbeasts. And you gets lots of ammo.
The railway is amazing but it’s so hard for me to stick to one weapon. Part of my love for fallout are all the unique weapon types so I need to cycle through them all.
With this build you don't have to stick with just the railway, you can use any full auto rifle and still easily kill things :)
I use a Q50vhc with a vats build high perception, and it hits every shot
i rolled a quad fire rate railway the other day and its genuinely insane how easy to use and convenient it is. Kills most enemies with a single tap of the trigger whilst being extremely ammo efficient... only problem is i gotta repair it after every big event
Prefer the double dmg above 50% for bosses or more dps per bit 😊
I have a random 3 star railway rifle but I don't know to to upgrade it. Im running energy and railway build at the moment
Is there a benefit of getting all the secret service armour parts? I just need the arm but I don't think there's bonus for all 5 parts
is it a heavy gun just wonder what bobblehead to use I never really used bobbleheads but now I have so many both small guns and heavy guns like 150 of each
never used a low health build. I like sneaking, maximum defense mitigation, and NOT guns blazing approach. So mutations will never be for me. That much red bar on my HP bar would be constantly distracting and distressing.

You should still carry a Two-Shot Auto Grenade Launcher for the Reflective Skin mutations. The TS AGL has the added benefit of giving you the highest AOE DPS. The obvious downside is having low health may result in more deaths from your own AOE damage. Outside of soloing bosses, kill time is negligible when comparing bloodied Quad Railway Rifle vs full health builds with TS AGL / Flamer / Chainsaw / Auto-axe.
Grand finale is best for reflective.
@@BeKind1Love TS AGL blows GF out of the water, especially if you know how to get extra shots in through the Aiming Down Sight glitch. That said, GF is better than nothing.
i disagree wholeheartedly about the railway rifle being the best rifle in the game. it's the best ballistic rifle for bossing, sure, but quad fixer is simply the better weapon for everyday overwolrd mobbing and events... except maybe radiation rumble with its tight spaces then a rifle like quad elder's mark would be better

I have a fixer that is stalkers , 50% critical, -25% AP useage. Its a vats crit machine.
i have just about given up on trying to roll one im to the point that if i find one ill buy it
Just a shame those railway spikes are so heavy.
Their actually not that bad with bandolier. I usually grab 1000 or so when I need to and they last fairly long. Not to mention all the ammo you pick up along the way ;)

There’s gotta be some down side to it I suppose, when you’re destroying everything before it gets the chance to know what hit it are you really concerned about ammo?
To be fair, you don't need tons of ammo to carry when you mostly killing everything with less than 5 shots. My q50c25 kills 1 lvl100 super mutant just one ammo with headshot on vats. 🤷♂️

Pity it's not practical as the ammo is so heavy. May as well build the flamer or the laser gatling gun and max out on fuel or cores to drop the carry weight.

You can basically survive on cake, coffee, tea, popcorn and grilled radstag meat from your camp. Everything else is just a bonus.
Been using the radium rifle lately got a bloodied explosive version
I wish they made antiserums to get rid of select mutations. Really want to trade carnivore for herb but dont want to risk other mutations

I have been running a similar build but different legendary cards; am going to have to change and level them up so i can get ALL of those cards haha my AP goes down fast usially i just drink several coffees before doing a battle 😅😅
I like it alot,ammo is easy to craft, hits like a truck,and its pretty fast.
Two shot gauss is really good also
