I'm in a reading slump like real bad because I started school and just don't feel like reading on top of all the new school work. I've barely started reading shatter me haha
Dawg, drinking coffee and watching your wrap up videos is really relaxing. You'll breeze through the other two books just as quickly. I couldn't believe it was middle grade though. When Eva got captured by the hunter and the scene with the baby water bison thing. . . wow
You are my favorite book channel! I've been wanting to read new books for SOOO LONG and all of these videos have definitely gotten me stocking up my wish list again!
I was THIS close to buying East of West because of your recommendation. Hopefully, it will get better! I did, however, finally read Saga Volume 1 and LOVED it.
So happy you loved Shadow of the Wind. I definitely had the same reading experience with it. The second half was just... I can't even. I also get why the first half was the way that it was because it allowed us to become familiar with the story telling style and set up for all the epicness
yes! Shadow of the Wind is one of my favorite books of all time! I'm so glad you read it. It's been years though and I need to reread it so I can read the 2nd and 3rd in the series!
I've had Shadow of the Wind on my TBR for a ridiculously long time as well and finally picked it up a couple days ago after you rementioned it haha. Am excited to (hopefully actually) read it this time!
Oohh!! Shadow of the Wind sounds very good. I am a sucker for a mysterious book or letter that starts an adventure though. Gets me everytime. Enjoyed the video.
definitely "Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close" was my favorite thing I read in September. I've been wanting to read it forever, and I don't recall much of the movie -- I'll have to rewatch it, now that I've read the book -- but OMG, the book was incredible. I adored the scattered plot, I adored Oskar and the mute man, I adored the mix of photographs, the stream of consciousness -esque writing, and all of Oskar's inventions. it all was very reminiscent of "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime." it was just wonderful. I really loved it.
I own the whole set of Wondela, and also have shadow of the wind. (Different cover) Haven't read these yet as I am currently reading StormDancer.. and enjoying it! Happy Reading! 👍 😄 💕 love your Vids!
I think out of all the books you talked about I think I'm definitely excited for The Search for Wondla ! I also really like how you rate the books out of 5, it makes it super easy to tell how much you liked the books.
I am do happy yhat you like the shadow of the wind is my favorite book . Carlos Ruiz Zafón makes magic with the words. You need to reed the name of the wind is also AMAZING.
Loving the new angle hahaha! I would love to see what books you'll be reading for the October month (halloween) or some spooky books! I'm trying to find some inspiration for my TBR :) im also needing to get my hands on the queen of shadows!
I literally only finished one book this month but I've been having a great time reading the book that I am reading wich is changeless by Gail Carriger lol I'm on a urban fantasy kick right now and I'm loving it!
It's been so hard to read lately... Normally I would read on the bus back from school and in car rides, but now that I'm in college I have so much work and it's so hard to read
The Shadow Of The Wind is part of a trilogy/companion series. The Angel's Game is the next book. I love everything Carlos Ruiz Zafon has written, check out the rest of his books for sure!
The Search for WondLa is amazing! And the second one is even better! I've heard that people like the second book in the Wicked and Divine comics better so maybe stick with it? I haven't read them though soo.... I felt the same way about Rook!
I had the awful realization that although I read 7 books, almost all of them were mediocre. My favorite was Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater. I just love that series and I can't wait to read the final book.
East of West sounds so cool. I need to get my hands on it. AHH! I just got Rook and my Kindle and I'm dying to read it. Why does college slow my reading down??!
With East of West, that was an actual issue a lot of people had with the story. They released a single issue that had details on the characters, tribes, relationships and all that to help give the readers an easier time haha
+ShunStories Oh and The Wicked + The Divine does not really start to make any sense till issue 9 (trade vol 2) and then again in the later issues. As someone who gets it every month, I too have no idea what is going on, but I will be sticking around to find out
I'm planning to read Queen of Shadows after the last book comes out!! I reaaaally want to read it now oh gosh but i can't! I have a big exam coming up! Shee-it.
Aw no! What a shame you didn't like East if West! In my opinion the sorry has significantly picked up from 3 onwards. I would definitely stick with it! All becomes clear :3
Ooo some of those books sound really awesome! I've been in a terrible reading slump recently, so I haven't even gotten to Queen of Shadows yet, but I'm reading S. By J. J. Abrams and Doug Dorst currently and really enjoying it!
The problem with tpb is that they're not a completed story most of the time. There are some in marvel and dc that are completed arcs in a longer story, but for image they're just collections of 5 issues in order. More often than not you have to keep following the comics to understand what's going on and so you'll be less confused. I read all 4 available volumes for East of West and the plot picks up and is explained more as it continues.
Aaaah, I want to read The Name of the Wind!!! Also, Regan, you should do another “Regan Recommends” but with only graphic novels, that would be great! Greetings, hope you're doing amazing 😘
Oh My G'd! When I grow up, i wanna be just like you and read thousands of pages in a month! I only read two:"Gabriel's Inferno (Sylvain Reynard) and "Jet" (book two of a hot series Marked Men). I couldn't put "Jet" down, and it was troublesome cause I had to write my final project for a course... So, that was it... Maybe when I'm done with the project I can read more.
I'm kinda in a reading slump and started two books this month but haven't finished them - voyager and the opposite of loneliness. I'm slowly making my way through voyager via audiobook but probably won't finish the opposite of loneliness because the stories have really open endings, which I'm not a fan of.
I had the lamest reading month ever, I only read three books: Queen of Shadows by Sarah J Maas, Emma by Jane Austen and Call the Midwife by Jennifer Worth. I enjoyed all of them but I'm definitely in a reading slump, hopefully October will be better!
Sadly, the only book I finished this month was the In Real Life graphic novel...(I blame work. ='D) I am currently reading The Assassin's Blade though, which I am really enjoying and would have to say is my favorite for the month. I will continue (and hopefully finish) it in October along with Under the Dome by Stephen King and The Wicked and the Divine Volume 1.
Hi Regan! So, I'm not much of a RUclips commenter, and I'm fairly new (a couple months) to your channel, so I'd start by saying that I have really appreciated your reviews! Thank you so much for those! And as to the heart of my comment: I similarly struggled with liking the first volume of The Wicked and The Divine. I'm not sure what you're finding in the reviews (I tend not to read through written reviews too much), but I'm wondering if some former knowledge of the different gods in myth helps make that first volume more palatable as a more cohesive kind of story? Thoughts on that? I'm just in a similar space where I don't know if I a) just didn't like the story, b) have to give the second volume a chance to really understand what's going on, or c) I need to do some homework on gods and myths around the world to get it. Anyway, just thought I'd air that grievance with the first volume and see what you or others thought. Happy Reading!
I can't wait to pick up the search for wondla!
+jessethereader YES YOU WILL LOVE IT
i love this angle! i didn't even realise you were seating before haha
I love your style, would love to see a room tour!
I second that lol
+rachelsydd I third this
YES. JUST YES.
I'm in a reading slump like real bad because I started school and just don't feel like reading on top of all the new school work. I've barely started reading shatter me haha
same haha
I'm dying of death because it's taking me a more than month to finish Hollow City by Ransom Riggs. Schoolwork piling on top of the other.
Same. Like I do want to read, but it's a huuge book, so I always made myself not pick it up 😢
Same. I have so much going on with school and stuff. I like the book I'm reading too, I just don't have enough time...
and I'm in a reading slump when it's exam days and I ended up getting bad grades lol
Ugh, everyone's getting me so pumped to read Queen of Shadows, but meanwhile I'm over here like
... still on Crown of Midnight
Soon though. Soon :)
I haven't even read any of the series 😳 haha oops but I will eventually!
+BangadyBangz Glad I'm not the only one...
Yes! I just started Heir of Fire and feel so far behind! Haha
+BangadyBangz I only just started Throne of Glass :')
I'm currently reading crown of midnight and I just love it so much 😍
Shadow of the wind .... added to TBR pile .... :) Love the new angle.
love the new angle
The Search for Wondla sounds interesting! And the way you spoke of The Shadow of the Wind..♥︎ Well, now that needs to get added to my TBR xD
Dawg, drinking coffee and watching your wrap up videos is really relaxing.
You'll breeze through the other two books just as quickly. I couldn't believe it was middle grade though. When Eva got captured by the hunter and the scene with the baby water bison thing. . . wow

I read two books 😅😓 this month: Hollow City by Ransom Riggs and The Mark of Athena by Rick Riordan. They were both my favourites!
I'm so so happy you read Shadow of the Wind and liked it! I get super excited when people like books I loooove 😊 Great reading month!!
I'm loving the new angle. I really need to pick up Shadow of the Wind, it sounds amazing.
I absolutely fell in love with The Shadow of the Wind and I was very excited when I saw you were going to read it.
Please keep this shooting angle, I love it so much!
yes! Shadow of the Wind is one of my favorite books of all time! I'm so glad you read it. It's been years though and I need to reread it so I can read the 2nd and 3rd in the series!

I'm so glad you enjoyed the shadow of the wind! it's definitely one of my all time favorite books
Love the new angle Regan! Thanks so much for the video, gonna pick up a couple of those :)
Oohh!! Shadow of the Wind sounds very good. I am a sucker for a mysterious book or letter that starts an adventure though. Gets me everytime. Enjoyed the video.

definitely "Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close" was my favorite thing I read in September. I think out of all the books you talked about I think I'm definitely excited for The Search for Wondla ! I also really like how you rate the books out of 5, it makes it super easy to tell how much you liked the books.
I'm finally catching up on videoooos. AND YOU FINALLY FINISHED IT. So what do we do now?
I love that pink kitten poster!
It looks like a female chesire cat haha
Woah. You have goldenish deer head on your wall. It's so cool!
The shadow of the wind sounds amazing!
I am do happy yhat you like the shadow of the wind is my favorite book . Carlos Ruiz Zafón makes magic with the words. You need to reed the name of the wind is also AMAZING.
Definitely a good reading month for you! You managed to pick up some really interesting ones!
Really liking the new angle!

Normally I would read on the bus back from school and in car rides, but now that I'm in college I have so much work and it's so hard to read
my favourite book I read this month was Aristotle and Dante Discover The Secrets of the Universe and honestly just read it if you haven't oh my god

The shadow of the Wind was so addicting. I read the last 400 pages in 2 days. Insane!
I only read two books this past month. 1) The Fault In Our Stars by John Green 2)The Maze Runner by James Jashner
My favorite of this month is Queen of Shadows by Sarah J Maas although Nimona by Noelle Stevenson was pretty darn good too

My favorite book that I read this month was origin by Jennifer l. Armentrout
The Search for WondLa is amazing! And the second one is even better! I've heard that people like the second book in the Wicked and Divine comics better so maybe stick with it? I haven't read them though soo.... I felt the same way about Rook!
My favorite book I read this month was AN EMBER IN THE ASHES. SO GOOD OMG.
I agree... I think that they needed to develop the story more in wicked and divine... I might pick up the next issue as I hear it gets better :0
I had the awful realization that although I read 7 books, almost all of them were mediocre. My favorite was Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater. I just love that series and I can't wait to read the final book.
i love ur videos!! im binge watching all ur wrap up videos atm
Your lipstick is always so on point! :)
East of West sounds so cool. I need to get my hands on it.
AHH! I just got Rook and my Kindle and I'm dying to read it. Why does college slow my reading down??!
I think the translator for Shadow of the Wind needs praise as well. :) She did a great job keeping the essence of the story.

The art is beautiful:) .
Oh My G'd! When I grow up, i wanna be just like you and read thousands of pages in a month! I only read two:"Gabriel's Inferno (Sylvain Reynard) and "Jet" (book two of a hot series Marked Men). The first volume of The Wicked + The Divine was very confusing to me too, it's not just you!
My favorite book this month was City on Fire by Garth Risk Hallberg. Super long, but totally worth it!
Your hairstyle and make-up looks so great in this video woah
I honestly had no idea what was happening for the majority of the wicked + the divine.

I am currently reading The Assassin's Blade though, which I am really enjoying and would have to say is my favorite for the month. I will continue (and hopefully finish) it in October along with Under the Dome by Stephen King and The Wicked and the Divine Volume 1.
