+LovingDemBooks Don't compare yourself to others. Read, and enjoy, books at your own pace. 6 books is great! Some people read 1 or 2 or even none in a year!
Firstly, I love your glasses. They're uber cute. Secondly, you've made me really intrigued by Six of Crows! I also wasn't SUPER impressed with the Grisha, I enjoyed the first book much more than the rest of the series. I wasn't that interested in reading Six of Crows but now you've made me excited!!
OMG SOPHIE!! LOVE UR CHANNEL SO MUCH! I read six of crows towards the end of march too XD. It was sooo amazing! The grisha series is one of my fav series but six of crows was so increible holy crap.
I've only recently found the booktube community and have rekindled my love of reading. I just finished the To All The Boys I've Loved Before series and loved it. Now starting on the Lunar Chronicles series :-)
I read The Nightingale and All the Light We Cannot See last year close together and OMG I really should have spaced them apart. I needed to go on to happy books for like 3 months after that. I really loved both of them. Its hard to read when you are crying.
I avidly watch every single video of yours because your personality strikes me as very genuine and refreshing. My favorite moments, are when you truly loved a book and you get real poignant about it because your excitement is clearly overtaking your ability to elaborate. Two favorite moments in this video: "Harry Potter -- 5 stars -- moving on!" and "Six of Crows -- Dones-O!" You crack me up! Thanks for the terrific content.
I am glad you read so many books last month! In March I read Call Me By Your Name, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, A Monster Calls, The Hours, Carry On, and The Thing Around Your Neck. I loved all of them!
I also read The Nightingale this month. My two favorite things about the book was the fact it followed the two women. Like you said, we got to see what the War was like for them back at home. It was great to see what happened to the women while they worked with the resistance. I love how their characters developed too. Isabelle was reckless and loud mouthed when we first meet her. She grew so much through the book. She became this determined fearless leader. I also love how Kristin Hannah humanized the enemy. Beck was more than just the 'bad guy'. As the reader, I empathized with him. He had a family back at home, he was constantly battling what he thought was right and just vs what he has been ordered or commanded to do. His relationship with Vianne gave me such conflicting feelings but I adored where the author took his character. This book made me want to read more historical fiction novels. If you have any you would recommend, let me know. :)
I completely agree about Soulless. I thought I'd be super excited to continue, that it would be a series I couldn't put down...but it just did not hit a few marks, it's good but I can't place my finger on exactly what didn't do it for me.
I'm so glad to hear that Six of Crows is living up to the hype, it's on my TBR this month. And I agree so much with you about Lady Midnight, it was so good!!
Kristin Hannah is fantastic! She also wrote another world war 2 historical fiction called Winter Garden. It has a slow start but is even better than The Nightingale!
The way u felt about the nightingale is the way i felt about me before you last month. Holy crap that book tore me apart inside. I really want to read the nightingale! It reminds me of code name verity which is one my fav books ever! I recomend that to anyone who likes the idea of nightingale and likes young adult. Im so happy u liked six of crows! I also read it towards the end of march it was the last book i finished in march. I was so blown away by it! The grisha series is one of my fav i didn't think it could get sooo much better!!
SIX OF CROWS IS EVERYTHING. This month I read the Winner's Trilogy by Marie Rutkoski and I just--it was so good. The final book, the Winner's Kiss, triumphed over Lady Midnight as my favorite read of the month.
Yas! Six of Crows really had everything... It was amazing. They reason I actually liked the Grisha trilogy was in the way Leigh wrote certain scenes. but Six of Crows just delivered on all accounts. I'm so glad you read it. I've been debating getting The Nightingale. I really want it now.
oh, The Nightingale. I read it almost a year ago, right when it came out and I still think about it! I just downloaded Six of Crows on Audible, but I have to buy the physical copy because it's just so darn beautiful. I am in love with the black detail!
Just found your channel and completely agree with everything you said about Nightingale. One of my favorite books ever! I loved the unique perspective, it was a refreshing change from the historical fiction genre I love.
I'm so glad you loved The nightingale. I knew you would love it..... I cried so hard. It was heartbreaking in parts but I still think about this book and I read it months ago!!
I am so happy that you read The Nightingale! I have been talking about this book forever on my channel and it seems that only now people are starting to talk about it on booktube. It is an amazing book and it deserves the recognition :)
I read Lady Midnight towards the beginning of this month and ABSOLUTELY loved it. I was sure that it would be my favorite book so far this year.. But then I read the Winner's Curse on the last day of the month, literally just sat down and plowed through it in a few hours, and I'd have to say that it was my favorite read so far this year. It pact such a huge punch in such a short amount of pages and I was a complete mess upon finishing. I'm SO excited to continue on with the trilogy!
Great video! For some reason I just couldn't get into Six of Crows. I guess it just wasn't for me, and it put me in a reading slump. In my March wrap up video, I mentioned how I only read 4 books this month, and I was sad because only one was a long book, and the rest were normal, but hopefully next month will be a good reading month.
For World War 2 stories, I highly recommend Vango by Timothee De Fombelle. Its about the main character who is on the run from the police in France and ends up stowing away on the Graf Zeppelin. There is book 1 and book 2 and the translation from French has been done so well!
SO. MANY. GOOD. BOOKS. I have seen The Nightingale around and i'm like GOTTA READ IT. LADY MIDNIGHT. SO MANY FEELINGS. SIX OF CROWWWWWSSSSS YESSSSSS. the jangling killed me.
Ah! I'm reading historical fiction this month and had no options on my shelf so I bought The Boy in the Striped Pajamas and Burial Rites, but now I wish I would have bought The Nightingale!
I just wanted to thank you. I've recently came across your incredible videos, and you have inspired me to begin reading again. Thank you so much for your videos, keep up the great work!!
I, like you, only thought the Grisha series was passable, so I've not been that keen to jump on the Six of Crows train, but you just made me rethink my stance. *adds it to my want to read goodreads shelf* (I've also got Lady Midnight staring at me from my book pile right now - I'm desperate to read it but I gotta get through my library reads first!)
So glad you loved Six of Crows! It was my absolute favorite from last year 😁 And you've made me really excited to read The Nightingale. I've had it for a while on my Kindle!
Awwwww your pug! I CAN'T 😩 I loved Lady Midnight! I was quite afraid that I wouldn't be able to connect to the world again but for me this is a close second to TID. I tried reading Soulless once before but I couldn't get along with the writing style 😕 I'm really scared to pick up Leigh Bardugo's first trilogy because I've heard so many mixed things, but everyone seems to love Six of Crows so I will probably give that I try if I don't like Shadow & Bone 😌
The Nightingale was my favourite book of 2015... I agree with everything you said about it... My favourite bookso far this year is Salt to the Sea by Ruta Seprtys...this book was also amazing....love you channel and have used a lotof your recommendations.....thanks so much and look forward to more of your videos!
Six of Crows has been sitting on my shelf for a while now - guess when I finish what I'm reading now that's next! I read Illuminae this month and LOVED IT.
My favorite books of the month were Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell and Poison Study by Maria V Snyder! Both were incredible! So excited to read more from both of those authors. Putting The Nightingale on my tbr because you loved it so much! Thanks Reagan!!!!
If you liked The Nightingale you might like The Twins by Tessa de Loo. It's kind of similar with twin sisters who get separated after their parents' death, with one growing up in Nazi Germany and the other one in the Netherlands. It is one of my favorite Dutch WWII stories.
I've been wondering about Six of Crows because I had the same thoughts of the Grisha trilogy. Good to know that it's really good. Might check it out soon. Great wrap up. As usual. ;-)
I read 16 books this month which is an incredible feat for me. probably the best book I read was "Room" by Emma Donoghue. That book made me cry. I was sobbing by the end
The Nightingale almost made me cry at work (I was listening to the audiobook). Needless to say, this book had me in such a book hangover, I couldn't read for a few weeks
My reading month in March wasn't so great. I read a lot of books that were okay and now I'm in this mood that I have a lot to read but I don't know what I want to read. I just know I want to read a book that I'm going to love.
The book that I read in March that I am seriously recommending to everyone is The Little Paris Bookshop by Nina George. I even recommended it to my mother and our reading tastes are opposite. I never recommend anything to her and I practically begged her to read it. It's about a man who lives in Paris and owns a bookshop that is on a barge. He prescribes books like medicine for the heart. It made me laugh, cry, gasp, get angry. All the "feels" were there. I seriously think you would love this book.
I loved The Nightingale as well!! I had to stop a couple of times to catch my breath lol I love historical fiction and I don't know why it took me so long to read it.
Yaaas, Lady Midnight! It rebooted my love for Cassandra Clare too. I can't wait for the next book to come out. Good to hear that you enjoyed Six of Crows! I also wasn't the biggest fan of the Grisha trilogy but I really enjoyed Six of Crows. :)
Soulless sounds so great, I've been seeing it in so many video's lately. I really need to pick it up :) I just started the Mistborn Triliogy, btw! It is soooo good! I'm only a hundred pages in, but I'm already obsessed with this world, the magic and the characters!
Since you loved The Nightingale, you should definitely read Winter Garden by Kristin Hannah. It is another historical fiction novel and just as wonderful!
If you enjoyed Souless (and are a fan of historical fantasy in general) then I would highly recommend reading Dark Days Club by Allison Goodman. I thought it had a tighter plot and didn't drift off into the dreaded romance-zone as often as Souless.
I read 5 books this month. What Lies Between Us by Nayomi Munaweera, It was really good but sad. I got it in a goodreads giveaway and I'm glad I did. Wildflowers by Drew Barrymore, I really enjoyed it. She's one of my favorite Actresses. You by Caroline Kepnes, I really like it. Hidden Bodies by Caroline Kepnes, I liked it better than the first. And I read A Madness so Discreet. I loved this book. It was so dark and unique. It was my favorite of the month.
I didn't read many but I read: 'The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy' (Douglas Adams), 'The Subtle Knife' (Philip Pullman), 'The Finding of Martha Lost' (Caroline Wallace) and 'Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe' (Benjamin Alire Saenz)
Have you read other Kristin Hannah books? I've only read Night Road so far but had the same blown away, emotional reaction to it. I don't know why but her books just had never caught my eye before that. Actually reading her inspired me to pick up Jodi Picoult to see if I was misjudging her books by the cover too. Totally was. Larger Than Life is hands down one of the best books I've ever read. Such a great mystery and woven in with interesting stuff about elephants.
I think marathoning the whole of TMI and TID by Cassandra Clare in January and February, I kind of paced myself in March and read two full books and just short of three (I had like 40 pages to go,which I finished last night!) and they were both amazing! I read Stars Above by Marissa Meyer and the last book in the Starbound Trilogy-Their Fractured Light by Amie Kauffman and Meaghan Spooner! I almost finished The Winner's Kiss by Marie Rutkoski-which on the whole was so so good!
I read tons of books in March. Favorites: Winter, Cress, Lady Midnight, Prodigy, Unbroken, Days of Blood and Starlight, 21 books in total! I totally agree Lady Midnight was one of the best openers Cassie has put out yet. Just hope I'm not going to be a big mess like I was in Clockwork Princess.
Whenever I hear of Six of Crows, it makes me think a little bit of the Final Empire..? Would you say it's a bit like that? I loved the Final Empire, so maybe I should give it a try 😅😇
Well a book that I really loved reading this month was Openly Straight by Bill Konigsberg. It was my second time reading it and it is absolutely amazing! Definitely one of my favorites :)
Best book this month (which also has made it into my all time favourites list which I'm very choosy about) was The Honest Truth by Dan Gemeinhart. Ugh. ❤️ And I've just started Illuminae... I think it's gonna be good! So far it's funny, and just unique and interesting and really cool.
I honestly think that you would LOVE the novel The History of Love by Nicole Krauss! It is a novel that follows multiple characters that are all connected in some way to the fictional novel which is also called The History of Love. The fictional novel is about a man who fell in love with a girl named Alma during WW2 only to never see her again. It is beautifully written and complex with an amazingly heartbreaking plot twist and ending. I can't even do it justice by trying to describe it but it is my favorite book and I think you should check it out! It seems like it's right up your alley :)
The Scrapbook of Frankie Pratt by Caroline Preston (I think you might want to check this out) The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath Almost Interesting by David Spade (Probably my favorite book thus far this year and month! :) ) The Book of Speculation- Erika Swyler
I NEED TO READ MORE. I'VE READ 6 BOOKS THIS YEAR AND YOU READ 6 BOOKS IN THE MONTH OF MARCH GAH GAH
sameee
I've read 0 and I've been in a reading slump since last summer, so there are worse cases. :D
+LovingDemBooks I think we all feel the same lol, I've only read 2 books each month so far lol
+LovingDemBooks Don't compare yourself to others. Read, and enjoy, books at your own pace. 6 books is great! Some people read 1 or 2 or even none in a year!
I know! It's just I'd like to read more in a month than my normal 2 lol

Six of Crows is on another level even if it still in the Grisha Verse.
I'm wanting to pick up The Nightingale and Six of Crows. My faves were The Night Circus, Shadows of Self and the Amulet graphic novels
I loved the nightingale too! Could not put it down, it was an emotional rollercoaster for sure!

I read The Nightingale in March, too -- such a fantastic book. I never cry when I read and this one hit me so hard in the feels!!
I loved The Nightingale and it's not usually the type of book I like. Six of Crows was really good.
I also read The Nightingale this month. My two favorite things about the book was the fact it followed the two women. Like you said, we got to see what the War was like for them back at home. It was great to see what happened to the women while they worked with the resistance. I love how their characters developed too. Isabelle was reckless and loud mouthed when we first meet her. love your Wrap-Up's Reagan. Glad to hear you loved the Nightingale, I definitely want to give it a read soon!

I read Me before you in march and it gave me all the tears! I'm really looking forward to the movie.
I loved the Nightingale too!!! I could not put it down when I read it.
I love the whole Parasol Protectorate series. It's really fun.
oh, The Nightingale.
Matilda
I'm so glad you loved The nightingale. I knew you would love it..... I cried so hard. It was heartbreaking in parts but I still think about this book and I read it months ago!!

You had all the reading juice this month. So far you at the only one that was not in a slump. I only got to one book in March. I normally read 6+
This month I picked up The Summer I Turned Pretty Series and IT. WAS. SO. GOOD.
I'm adding Six of Crows to my TBR pile. Great review!
So glad you enjoyed Six of Crows. I've never read the Grisha trilogy but I LOVE Kaz and the gang. I can't wait for the next book.
For World War 2 stories, I highly recommend Vango by Timothee De Fombelle. Its about the main character who is on the run from the police in France and ends up stowing away on the Graf Zeppelin. There is book 1 and book 2 and the translation from French has been done so well!
i really want to do floating bookshelves :) they're so beautiful
SO. MANY. GOOD. BOOKS.
I have seen The Nightingale around and i'm like GOTTA READ IT.
LADY MIDNIGHT. SO MANY FEELINGS.
SIX OF CROWWWWWSSSSS YESSSSSS.

*adds it to my want to read goodreads shelf*
(I've also got Lady Midnight staring at me from my book pile right now - I'm desperate to read it but I gotta get through my library reads first!)
The shelves on your wall look great!
My reading month in March wasn't so great. I read a lot of books that were okay and now I'm in this mood that I have a lot to read but I don't know what I want to read. I just know I want to read a book that I'm going to love.
my favorite book that i read in March was "We Are The Ants" by Shaun David Hutchinson. it's fantastic.
I ordered that book yesterday and I'm so so excited to read it! :)
+carolinethereader it's so so good!
I had to stop a couple of times to catch my breath lol I love historical fiction and I don't know why it took me so long to read it.
yep I'm gonna go read six of crows now.
I've heard such awesome stuff about Soulless... I need it
You make Six of Crows sound so interesting :)
Soulless sounds so great, I've been seeing it in so many video's lately. I really need to pick it up :)
I just started the Mistborn Triliogy, btw!
Dude if u like wwii books with female characters i highly recommend Code Name verity or rose under fire.
I could not stop crying after reading The Nightingale... definitely one of my favorite books of the year. (even though it's only April)
Wwoooah your room! So cozy and cool
Hey Regan! Nice books, nice videos!
Have nice reads!!
Six of Crows is bloody fantastic!
I think I might have to add the Nightingale to my TBR for April!!
Great video!
+Margarita E You def. should!
Congrats on those shelves!
I'm so Jealous! I want the Winner's Kiss so badly!!!
I read tons of books in March.
Favorites: Winter, Cress, Lady Midnight, Prodigy, Unbroken, Days of Blood and Starlight,
21 books in total!
I totally agree Lady Midnight was one of the best openers Cassie has put out yet. Just hope I'm not going to be a big mess like I was in Clockwork Princess.
How the hell did you manage to read 21 books in one month?? That's really impressive!!
I have a lot of time.
Whenever I hear of Six of Crows, it makes me think a little bit of the Final Empire..? Would you say it's a bit like that? I loved the Final Empire, so maybe I should give it a try 😅😇
I am so adding The Nightingale to my list!
I was hesitant about Six Of Crows also. Gonna buy it now. :D
Well a book that I really loved reading this month was Openly Straight by Bill Konigsberg. It was my second time reading it and it is absolutely amazing! Definitely one of my favorites :)
Lady Midnight is my #1 book of the year I just know it.I also enjoyed The Power by Jennifer L. Armentrout.
That happened to me! My dog destroyed the cover of my Order of the Phoenix and I cried!
Regan you need to read the Captive Prince series!!
Best book this month (which also has made it into my all time favourites list which I'm very choosy about) was The Honest Truth by Dan Gemeinhart. Ugh. ❤️
And I've just started Illuminae... I think it's gonna be good! So far it's funny, and just unique and interesting and really cool.
I'm in a huge reading slump but listening to your vids make me want to read everything again 😩💘
Every time I watch your videos, my dog can hear millie's collar in the background and he GOES CRAZY. It's the most hilarious thing in the world lol.
The Scrapbook of Frankie Pratt by Caroline Preston (I think you might want to check this out)
The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath
Almost Interesting by David Spade (Probably my favorite book thus far this year and month! :) )
The Book of Speculation- Erika Swyler
