On way up before climbing edge , changeover in descender will be proper way.

Why not use a friction hitch to step down. you could pull it forward, unleash and descend in one.

First You Need be sure rope îs maxim.tension...if îs to long from anchor point ,..that ascender will be at edge ,some problems..șo ,first ,tensionwell rope ..
