  • A quick look at Abseiling over a 90 degree edge and using rope protection.
    I've miss the bit where you forget all your tools and have to reverse back up to get them. :)

    So, I recently got my level 3, and right off the bat let me say, I am not as knowledgeable or as good as a tech as the guys at Access Techniques. This is a genuine question: Didn't Petzl recently or in the past release guidance on not having their ASAP on the top of the edge during your negotiation? Its my understanding you're suppose to move it below the edge as soon as possible. So you can't load it on the edge in a fall.

      Hi Chris. While I don't doubt the logic of both methods, it was always the case to keep your back up as high as possible to reduce the length of fall. I have had a look at the petzl guidance on this and I can not see what you ae referring to. Feel free to forward it so I can have a look. Thanks for the comment.

      You probably think of situations when, if you fall: #1 device would not instantly react to speed of fall or #2 device will react but with rope elasticity counted, ASAP device will be moved to position of the edge and will be under side pressure? *Device I was using on my work was Singing Rock's Locker fall arrest.

    What's the length of your foot loop?

    • @HappyBear376
      @HappyBear376 4 года назад

      How long's your leg? Your ciw's tail is shorter than your arm, and a foot loop is shorter than your leg is long. Same reason mypal. Never over extend. Much like me trying to explain (I'm not good at it, I'm better showing). This is why I'm not in youtube i suppose.
